Myrika Tears is a coyote-wolf-dog hybrid born May 2009. She is the daughter of siblings Rachias Tears de Ame and Kharma Asylum and a member of the Lykoi family.
She was raised by her father, and grew up knowing her parents by the names Rachias Tears and Kharma Asylum, unaware of their relation. After being separated from her sister and father while traveling, Myrika wandered for some time and lurked on the Isthmus of Chignecto area being awkward about Inferni.
Myrika joined Inferni in the summer of 2011. She became interested in the clan's history and compiled a book about it. She inherited leadership from Ezekiel de le Poer when he departed in 2012; she remains the Aquila of Inferni. She has been mates with Vesper since 2013, and is the mother to Kyrios Lykoi, Maeriia Asylum, and Vicira Tears.
Inferni members may assume and reference the following without discussion/asking:
General conversations (e.g., reporting all is well).
Seeing Myri about Inferni: doing border duties, checking up on its structures, riding Eira, hanging out at the Great Village, etc. Basically, anything that's "usual" for her to be doing, it's cool.
PM to discuss:
Specific conversations, especially conversations which may later affect RP (e.g., caught an identifiable trespasser).
Species: Myrika is a coyote-wolf-dog hybrid. While primarily Canis latrans (coyote) blood, she shows both coyote and wolf features -- essentially a coyote's head on a wolfish body. Her dog heritage is not at all apparent from her appearance.
Fur: Her fur is more like a coyote -- not particularly thick and lacking the double coat. In Lupus form, Myrika's ruff is very much in evidence, and is perhaps one of the only double-coated areas on her body.
Optime Hair: Her thick and wavy hair usually dangles a little past her shoulders, hanging straighter near the top of her head and getting progressively curlier toward its ends.
Facial Features: Myrika is coyote in facial feature. Her ears are large and her muzzle is petite and tapering.
Build and Size: Her size gives clear evidence of her wolf heritage: she is overlarge for a coyote.
Lupus: 84 lbs (38 kg) — 26 in (91 cm) In both Lupus and Secui form, Myrika appears essentially as a wolf with a coyote's skull structure and facial features (oversized ears, longer and tapering muzzle). She is long-legged, with a deep, narrow, and wolfish chest. Her shoulders are broad, her paws are large.
Secui: 140 lbs (64 kg) — 34 in (109 cm) She is large and tall even for a Secui. Myrika rarely shifts to this size, as she is self-conscious of her bulk and stature.
(Preferred) Optime: 160 lbs (73 kg) — 6ft 5in (77 in / 196 cm) She appears far more coyote. Myrika is tall and almost willowy in stature, with a long torso and short legs.
Humanization: Moderate. While not heavily humanized, Myrika does wear a lot of jewelry and is not seen without it. Myrika likes to draw attention to her face, as she thinks this keeps others from noticing her body.
Piercings: Ears (4x each), twice on the lower part of the "lobe" and twice on the lower part of the "cartilage" of her lower ear. Always wears simple silver stud earrings and two small ring earrings from the Winter Festival 2012.
Tattoos: Fire Red (#AA0000) chaos star on her right side, along her ribs (added July 2012). Scar tissue edges are visible around the color.
Jewelry:
Always wears a close-sitting (~collarbone) flower pendant and ribbon necklace given by Kharma.
Frequently wears low-sitting (~cleavage) wooden carved horse given by Vesper
Frequently appears with a bandanna: either around her neck or tying her hair back. Favorite is a deep purple.
Clothing:
Sometimes wears one of a few deerskin skirts of varying lengths she's made herself. They are plain leather, adorned only with pockets and belts/pouches (aka functional stuff). More common in winter.
Rarely wears leather armor intended for men
Coloration
Fur: Myrika is primarily Tawny Brown. Her undersides are a lighter Tan. Her fur is also tan around her eyes, along the underside of her muzzle, throat, chest, and stomach.
Markings:
The back of her tail has a darker Espresso brown patch.
A half-stripe on her muzzle is a Dark Sienna color.
Light Sienna colors her neck and shoulders in Lupus form; this color rings around just the ankle of each leg.
Eyes: Turquoise
Optime Hair: Light Sienna, highlighted with Red Sienna
Nose and Paw Pads: Birch

Modifications
Interaction
Speech: She speaks English. Myrika enjoys "deeper" discussions on religion, philosophy, etc. She's not particularly fond of small talk or gossip.
Scent: Myrika smells primarily of Inferni. She usually carries a strong scent of horses, as well. Sometimes after she's been working with her leather, she carries its scent.
Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Tends to babble when she's nervous.
General Posture and Body Language: Stands hunched over and generally makes efforts to make herself appear "small." Lessened behavior since becoming Aquila; resurfaces now and again.
Myrika is intelligent -- she was well-educated as a child, and became immersed in books and reading from a young age. Additionally, she is versatile and clever, generally able to adapt to new situations easily. Nonetheless, she often doubts and second-guesses her actions, especially where Inferni leadership is concerned.
Myrika is highly logical. She requires sensibility, and illogical things don't make a whole lot of sense to her. She is nonetheless more than occasionally driven to action by emotion.
Impulsive
She can be impulsive, acting and reacting quickly without thinking through the consequences. While she idealizes herself as having strong moral convictions, her impulsivity leads her to make decisions contradictory to her morality.
Social, Desirous of Belonging
Belonging in a group and being accepted by that group is of the utmost importance to Myrika. She enjoys conversation, especially driven and intellectual conversation. While friendly and eager to belong, she is often awkward and anxious in social situations with those she is unfamiliar with.
Outlook: Minorly optimistic, though primarily neutral. She doesn't lean pessimistic or optimistic.
Sociability: Minorly extroverted. She doesn't thrive around people, but she gets lonely quickly (though she appreciates several hours to a good book, of course).
Expression: Not particularly dominant or submissive. Myrika vaguely presents as a leader, but isn't especially dominant -- especially with Inferni coyotes she knows. To joiners and outsiders, she adopts a more dominant posture.
Vesper, making her happy and making up for being a total screw-up. Myri will let Ves get away with murder because love and guiltttt forever. ;_;
Inferni -- she has a duty to the clan as its Aquila. Beyond that, Myrika retains a fascination with the clan's history and her family's history. Though as a child she heard stories of Inferni's malice and evil, she believes in the clan strongly now (after having led it for some time, of course).
Tradition -- especially since becoming a leader (Chaos star, hanging skulls, writing the clan's history).
Fears
Isolation, Ostracism: Being completely alone scares the crap out of Myrika, though this is an infrequently considered fear (since she's an Inferni leader).
Discovery of Fighting Skill: Myrika is afraid of anyone from Inferni or elsewhere figuring out she can't fight worth crap anymore.
Biases
Species: Myrika is wary of wolves. She is not rude, but can be standoffish to unfriendly when encountering a strange wolf.
Non-Luperci: Would feel secretly sorry for them, but is generally accepting of four-legged lifestyles thanks to Vesper.
Age: Thinks of old people as irritating fogeys, but wouldn't you if you lived with a lump of crust?
Sexuality
Bisexual, nearly exclusive preference for ladies
Comfortable with Vesper. Otherwise hates discussing sex and reproduction, flirting, and anything having to do with any of that. Any of that from anyone else (well, not always...) quickly gets her weirded out.
Finds interest in herself extremely flattering and almost unbelievable, but is quick to run away if it becomes overt.
Interests
Likes: Human artifacts, the human apocalyptic event, horses, livestock, knowledge, books, writing, driven and intellectual conversation, history, Inferni, Lykoi family
Myrika is sensitive about her height and size, and strongly dislikes negative commentary.
Substances
Prior experience with alcohol, tobacco, and marijuana -- she found them enjoyable, but does not seek them out. She doesn't really know anything about other substances, but would probably try them on impulse.
Extended: Lykoi, duh. Some really far-out ones -- including third cousins Lilin Soulstorm, Silvano Sadira, second cousin once removed Haku Soul, etc. Myrika secretly has a massive family she has no idea about!
Kharma Asylum is Myrika's dad. He raised her and Myri's childhood is filled with many fuzzy warm dad-memories. Now there's awkward because Myrika is a leader and her daddy is a member. Also the whole siblings thing is kind of unspeakably weird to Myri but that's okay because dad!
Cassandra Asylum is Myrika's sister. Myri has always felt protective over Cassie. When she was most recently around Inferni, Myri wanted her to join for safety. Myri was a sad and guilty panda because she was inadequately protecting Cassie.
Positive Relations
Cartier Inferni and Versace Inferni are children born to Willam in Inferni. Willam died when the children were young. Myrika and Vesper took in the orphans and helped raise them. As they have aged, Myrika remains close to both of them.
Kaena Lykoi is Myrika's grandmother (twice over). Myrika larbs her crusty gramamama even if Kaena is an annoying old fart.
Sparrow is Vesper's sister. Myri and Sparrow have been friends for a long time, from Myri helping Sparrow shift to helping her to start reading.
Helotes Lykoi is Myrika's cousin. Helotes lived in Inferni for a long time and was Myrika's close friend. They shared some awesome together (Helotes making a bunch of babies) and not so awesome (Myrika cheating on Vesper).
Ithiel is Myrika's cousin. Ithiel lived in Inferni for over a year, through the Boreas Conflict. He helped Myrika learn to fight during the conflict, and remained several months after its conclusion, aiding Myri in new leadership. Myri and Ithiel disagreed a lot, but they were bros.
Ezekiel is Myrika's cousin. Myrika liked her cousin and respected him as a leader. She feels she never really understood him, as he blindsided her with leadership. She knows she learned a lot from him, even if she didn't realize she was learning it at the time.
Willam la Chemin was a member of Inferni who worked herself to death, leaving two children with the surname Inferni orphaned.
Neutral / Negative
Salvia Eternity is Myrika's cousin and leader of Salsola. Myrika is very wary of Salvia and her pack both, despite Inferni's long-standing trade agreement. As of early 2014, this relationship has been improving somewhat, though Myrika is still mistrustful.
Cirael June Lykoi is Myrika's cousin. He joined Inferni under the name CJ, eventually got Myri drunk, and they had sex. Myrika wound up pregnant. CJ wound up a crazy asshole.
Education and Learning: Myrika has been reading since before she had hands. Her earliest memories are of daddy reading to her. When she was young, before she had hands, she struggled to open books and turn pages with her nose and paws. She began learning to shortly after she got hands, an arduous process. Learning to write necessitated the creation of writing materials.
Reading (Master): Myrika reads frequently; she has read most of the books in the D'Neville Mansion library and is constantly in search of new books.
Writing (Master): Myrika writes frequently -- she keeps a book of Inferni's history, and sometimes contracts her writing skill out for others. Her writing is large and very legible.
Writing Materials (Journeyman): She can create "ink" from bark, char, berries, and salt. She can create "pencils" (stick with sharpened charcoal).
Myrika's written language is not perfect and doesn't precisely emulate human written English (odd spellings, weird grammar, etc.).
Reading aloud to others is a skill she doesn't have much practice with. She's not awful, but she stumbles and feels clumsier speaking and reading than just reading.
Her comprehension on a grand scale is obviously limited (her belief that The Stand is a written account of the apocalypse, etc.). She can't pick up technical books and understand them. She reads mostly fiction and simpler texts.
Livestock
Education and Learning: Myrika began learning of livestock from a young age. She bothered the canines in Thornloe who kept animals, following them and absorbing what she could from observation. This skill was sharpened as she moved on to the Pacrel farm, and furthered in Inferni when Myri became responsible for the clan's sheep early on in her membership.
Livestock (Journeyman): Myrika is good at caring for various forms of livestock. She has captured sheep before and cares for many of Inferni's communal animals.
Horses (Maintenance, Care) (Journeyman): Her specialty is horses -- their basic care, feeding, and grooming are all well-known to Myri.
Horses (Training) (Master): She is capable of breaking horses and training them for basic riding and ranching-type purposes. She has also aided in teaching manners to ill-tempered horses, as well as calming nervous horses.
Horses (Riding) (Master): Myrika is very certain in the saddle and capable of handling most any horse.
Her experience is limited to "usual" animals: horses, sheep, goats, chickens, cattle. Specific experience with each animal varies. She'd be at a loss with an exotic like a camel or alpaca.
Her experience with malady, illness, and dental care is very limited -- she is not a medic. This is especially true when it comes to non-horses. While she might recognize illness in a horse, mild sickness in some other creature is likely to pass her notice.
Her size does not limit her choice of horse; however, it makes her most comfortable on a medium to large horse.
Animal Products
Education and Learning: Myri first began experimenting with animal products as a result of her writing. She needed something to write on, and someone in Thornloe showed her how to cure parchment from leather. She expanded her skills later on with the coyote Thamur, who taught her how to do everything else she knows except the parchment.
Animal Products (Journeyman): Myrika is capable of making various animal products. She can cure hides, create leather and rawhide (and parchment).
Sewing (Apprentice): She is capable of sewing very simple clothing, belts, pouches, etc. from cured animal pelts.
She has not improved on this skill pretty much since joining Inferni. This is not only for lack of time, but lack of drive, too. She's happy making her functional things.
She doesn't tend to experiment, and makes the same functional things over and over again. She doesn't decorate anything, either, so her items do not fetch as high a trade price as they might when she tries to trade them.
4.2 Inventory
Trade
Myrika is an avid trader, though she does not seek it out frequently. She will capitalize on the opportunity where it is presented, however.
Horse food stores of various rotating stock, usually any of the following: a few dried apples, harvested oat, switchgrass, and bluejoint from Inferni's marshes
Various horse tack: bits, bridles, ropes, blankets, brushes, miscellaneous care items
A saddle similar to an Australian stock saddle, with long and dangly stirrups modified to accomodate Myrika's height. A second saddle is similarly modified, though less frequently used due to its more battered condition.
Myrika has four books: two non-fiction about leather-working, a thick textbook on livestock, and a copy of The Stand, which she believes is a non-fiction record of the apocalypse, written by human survivors.
She has one utility knife.
She has a glass jar with a screw-top, the rigid metal top only slightly bent. Obtained from the Winter Festival 2012.
Excluded (Claimed): Whisper Beach, Commune of the Salmon, Dawn's Breath, The Sugarwoods, Musquodoboit Valley, Millstone Village, Phosphagos Foothills, Grandfather's Tears, Mersey Lagoon, Howling Caverns, Serene Sands, The Witch's Cauldron
Tirones, Praeses, Vigiles, Caelum, Consul, Praetorian, Consul
Myrika Tears and Cassandra Asylum were born to Arkham Lykoi and Rachias Tears de Ame in the spring of 2009 near Thornloe?, a small pack in Ontario. Myrika knew her father as Kharma Asylum. Just a month after their birth, their mother departed to seek her former homeland. Kharma raised his daughters, and though the family was friendly with the wolves of Thornloe, they never sought to join. When Myrika was a year old, the trio set out to find Rachias; unfortunately, two weeks into the journey, they were separated.
Myrika ended up on a Luperci farm, where she remained until one of the brothers spooks her off. From there, Myrika lives on the outskirts of of 'Souls, unable to continue forward into the strange lands, fearful of the tales of Inferni she knew in youth. An older traveler happens upon her and the two live together for a quite a long time before the man dies. When this happens, Myrika finally gets up the gall to head to Inferni and see what awaits her there, though she has mostly given up hope of finding the family members she'd most like to find.
Myrika made her way to Inferni eventually, where she joined in August of 2011. She remained within the pack and participated in such things as the Boreas Conflict in 2012. In June of 2012, her cousin Ezekiel de le Poer stepped down from the Aquila position and left the clan to Myrika. In 2013, Myrika done did a bad thing and slept with Cirael June Lykoi, resulting in pregnancy and the eventual birth of her children, Maeriia Asylum, Kyrios Lykoi, and Vicira Tears.
21 May: Myrika Tears and Cassandra Asylum are born to Arkham Lykoi and Rachias Tears de Ame near Thornloe?, a small wolf pack in Ontario. Though the family has good relations with the pack, they live on its outskirts, and never seek to join.
June: Rachias departs in late June to return to 'Souls, keeping communication with Kharma via Donovan, an American Kestrel.
August: Myrika is socialized with same-aged puppies of Thornloe; she has a few close friends, but as she entered the puppy growth spurts, some youths within Thornloe bully her. The bullying zeroes in on her appearance (her ears and small muzzle at first; her over-tall gangliness later).
September: Rachias leaves 'Souls and Donovan is unable to locate her. Kharma gradually ceases speaking of her; Myrika does not remember her mother's physical presence well at all, but has always been curious about her.
December: Donovan dies from natural causes. Kharma obtains three horses as Myrika and Cass begin shifting.
2010
March: Myrika finally grows into her size, though by this time, she has withdrawn almost entirely from similar-aged Thornloe canines and preferrs to spend time around family or reading.
May: Kharma, Myri, and Cass depart Thornloe. The children accompany their father only after some insistence.
May: A thunderstorm separates the trio somewhere between Quebec and Maine.
June: Myrika tracks Eira to a tiny wolf pack living on the remains of a farm. Though the young leader, Zemyhot Pacrel, believes Eira belongs to Myri, he claims to have had difficulty in capturing and keeping her. Myri is made to remain on the farm and work off the debt; she remains partially in hopes of her family's proximity.
August: Myrika forms a bond with Tyveni Pacrel, roughly her own age, despite difficulties with Zemyhot and his brother.
September: Myrika departs the farm after Lamyzai, the brother, attempts to assault her. Though she attempts to convince Tyveni to leave, her friend refuses and rejects Myri's romantic advance.
November: Myrika decides to cease traveling and sets up camp in a dilapidated cabin on the Isthmus of Chignecto. She continually skulks into 'Souls to invesitgate various pack borders, most frequently Inferni's, but remains a loner.
December: Thamur Sovany takes up residence with Myrika after she invites him to remain with her for a meal. Myrika learns much of her sewing and hide-craft abilities from Thamur.
2011
February: Myrika and Thamur have sex; though Myrika already suspects her sexuality, she is legitimately attracted to Thamur and wishes to experiment nonetheless. The act itself is a moment of impulse, and Myrika finds herself regretful in the morning. She confides her attraction to women and suspicions; Thamur is understanding, and the two resume life as usual (if a tad more awkwardly).
May: Thamur and Myrika discuss heading to Inferni and decide to join the clan. Before their plans are finalized, Thamur grows weak and begins sleeping frequently. He soon becomes feverish and ill.
July: Thamur dies of his illness. Myrika buries him and heads west.
August: Myrika joins Inferni. Her cousin Ezekiel de le Poer teaches her and helps her learn things. She also meets Vesper and there is adorable squishy awkwardness from the start. Ithiel de le Poer is her stoic and standoffish jerk of a cousin who joins a few months after Myri. Otherwise, she meets various Infernians and integrates into the clan.
2012
February: Her cousin Halo Lykoi is attacked by two wolves -- Myrika and Ithiel save her. Myri kills one of the wolves and is supar torn up about it.
March: The Boreas Conflict begins and Myrika is swept up in the conflict. She fights for Inferni and participates in the final attack on the Boreas camp. She is far more practical about this violence. SHe escapes mostly unscathed.
June:Ezekiel de le Poer departs from Inferni, leaving the leadership of the clan to Myrika. She is anxious as all hell about her capability to lead, but realizes Ezekiel has been kind-of preparing her for the role for a long time. With Vesper as her Centurion and many close relatives within the clan's ranks, Myrika's transition to leadership is smooth.
Myrika establishes a trade pact with Salsola -- she meets Salvia Eternity, her cousin and leader of the neighboring pack. It's not that cool but it's pretty much her first big act as a leader.
More importantly, though, she goes and romps in the grass with Vesper and it is adorable steamy lesbian lurves. ;_;
Her sister Cassandra Asylum comes to Inferni, injured and all messed up. Myri takes her in and there are so many goopy and awkward and bad feels while Cassie stays with her to recuperate.
2013
January: "Accidentally" sexes "CJ". Tells Vesper and lurks hard in the Great Village for three weeks. Kaena goes, "hey sup you're pregs" and Myrika flips her lid and goes to Vesper all cry, cry. Vesper and Myri become mates on 26 January. The following day, CJ shows up and acts a fool. He reveals his actual identity and bad things happen to his face.
a comforting magick (21 Sept) Myrika accompanies Sage River and Valkyrie to Ichika no Ho-en, where she meets her uncle Razekiel and his co-leader, Nayru. The Infernian trio is allowed a tour of the packlands. Myrika is surprised, but agrees, when she is asked to report on Sage's reactions to the pack after this interaction.
[M]The Calloused East (Oct 25) China Rose teaches Myrika some other stuff. This is almost surely her first experience with a lady and she is tooootally elated to have had a ladyfriend experience... except she never caught China's name and, at the time, hadn't the faintest idea they're cousins.
A Little More Intensity From You (25 Oct) Myrika meets Halo Lykoi who is a bitch forever. It's okay though because she purdy (even if Myrika doesn't admit it even to herself).
And When I Sing, These Lies Come Out (15 Dec) Myrika travels to Freetown with Ángel Fàbregas i Reus. Here, Myrika obtains a new horse: a wild-type bay stallion named Cahal. She also obtained a red roan stallion, which she dubbed Bairre and gave to Inferni for communal use.
Repent to a Bruise (21 Dec) Myrika meets Ithiel de le Poer. She's really weirded out by him at first, especially because he insistently swears an oath to her, but the pair do get along eventually.
Where Fields Burn Westward (23 Dec) Myrika travels north, back toward her old home with Thamur. She encounters Zalen Damaichu, who is more than a little wary at first; however, their conversation soon became more pleasant. Myrika leaves as something of an emissary between New Dawn and Inferni, a position which confounds her.
Sunlight (20 Feb) Myrika meets Emmanuelle Brenna and shows her leatherworking products. Thereafter, Myri teaches Emma some stuff!
[M]Gonna Get Off This Merry-Go-Round (28 Feb) A pair of tresspassers -- Evike and Jenci Boros -- attack Halo Lykoi. While Halo kills one, the other overpowers her; Myrika and Ithiel show up and save her. She spends some time dealing with killing; eventually, she comes to the conclusion that killing is okay if it's done in defense.
Hello, Sunshine (1 Mar) Myrika tries to speak with and comfort Halo Lykoi and finds her unresponsive.
Fell Asleep at the Dusk of Man (2 June) Myrika and her cousin Helotes Lykoi encounter one another. Helotes presents one of his children and Myri asks him why he chose Zana, knowing their shared blood.
Where Pilgrims Disappear (7 July) In the Great Village, Myrika watches her Eira's new colt (born 2 July) as Kaena Lykoi again impresses on her how important and necessary it is that Myrika has a chaos star. Myri eventually agrees.
