Loki

Loki is the son of Terra and Inocencio Kit Victor, born in Cour Des Miracles and a former member of Inferni.

Neat is the best word that could be used to describe Loki. His fur is thin and sticks slickly to his body in a well ordered manner, his ears well pointed and symmetrical and even the few scars that he had obtained are as straight and orderly as scars can really be. Even his movement conforms to this, Loki has excellent control over his body and whether moving slow or fast, every movement he makes is deliberate and precise. The exception to this is his right hand, which is mangled and twisted - though fully functional - from a problematic shifting in his youth. This thumb and ring finger of this hand are both bend inwards slightly in a clawlike fashion and the middle finger is bent slightly to the right. The bone structure in the palm and lower forearm is disturbed under his skin, leaving the arm feeling rough and bumpy to the touch. A visible shift causes a large depression on the back of his hand just below the wrist and a slight bump on the palm opposite. A smooth knob of bone breaks the skin just below Loki's right knuckle.

Loki's appearance is almost all coyote, especially evident in his large ears and thin muzzle. The only hints that he isn't pure coyote are in the lack of fluff in his tail, his larger proportioned teeth and his build, which has the weight of a short wolf but not the muscle. Loki's form is lithe and thin, tall by coyote standards but not possessing much more mass. His height and thin, slick fur make him appear thinner and weaker than he actually is.

At first glance Loki seems simple; a friendly, happy coywolf who doesn't like strangers. The reality is more complex; several head wounds as a puppy and a natural disposition towards instability combining to create an odd and somewhat unpredictable individual. On a good day Loki is happy and carefree, the worst he will get up to good-natured pranks of thievery of minor items. On these days he exists to amuse himself and his packmates and will make a fool out of himself almost as quickly as he will someone else if it means the laughter of someone he cares about.

However Loki has a darker side in the form of his infrequent psychotic episodes, which can range from increased aggression to a literal thirst for blood. No matter how psychotic he gets Loki's loyalty to his pack and loved ones stays resolute and typically he retains enough of his mind to direct his aggressive desires for the good of Inferni. Beyond this Loki has an extremely controlling personality and absolutely hates to lose control of himself or a situation, resulting in him being overly cautious and appearing pessimistic on occasion. He loves chaos and confusion; but only when they are being created on his terms. He has an extreme dislike of dominance being used against him, especially by those who are physically smaller then himself; in this way he compensates for his own inability to stand up to those bigger than him due to his lack of strength.

Outlook Tends to come across as pessimistic due to overanalysing a situation and planning for the worst, though he isn't. The phrase "Hope for the best and plan for the worst" is extremely relevant. Both extroverted (Around those he knows and likes) and introverted (Around those he doesn't). Tends to be tetchy with those smaller than himself if they are dominant towards him. Likely to show dominance over anyone he thinks he can with a few exceptions, and with less frequency among packmates.

• Age: Slight disdain for those old enough to have reduced movement due to his reliance on moving quickly. Thinks children are cute and fun to screw around with.

3.1  Key Relations Basilio Lykoi: Known affectionately as Basil. Basil is Loki's best friend and the target of as many pranks as he is a helper with. Loki would, and has, kill(ed) to protect Basil. Vesper: Known as Ves or Miss Ves, the latter used more mockingly/ironically as Loki grows older. Vesper is a weird mix of father figure, teacher and friend to Loki. Loki tends to idolise Vesper to some respect. Loki assists Vesper in tending to the Inferni ravens. Helotes Lykoi: Known by name. Helotes is Loki's best friend's father, Loki's teacher in the combat arts and saved Loki's life when he was a child. Loki looks up to Helotes, but not to the point of emulating him. Thinks Helotes is slightly crazy due to the religion thing.

4.  Interaction

Speech Surprisingly deep tone, very smooth. Formal around those he does not know or dislike. Relaxed and crude around those he likes. Fond of using insults affectionately. Tends to keep his words short unless he has something to say or is angry. The more angry he gets the more verbose he gets (ranting).

4.3  Abilities

Strengths (Armed Fighting | Dabbler) Loki is training in Spear and Net fighting and Short Sword fighting. At the moment, "training in" means "has thought about learning and is trying to locate weapons and a teacher. (Unarmed Fighting | Dabbler) Vesper is training Loki in Unarmed fighting. Well actually she hasn't started yet, this happens late February. Loki has fairly decent instincts for this, but is hampered in Lupus and Secui by his deformed paw. (Unconventional Fighting | Apprentice) Loki understands the basics of unconventional fighting methods such as unusual weapons, distractions and traps in combat, but has had little chance to apply or practise them. (Low Speech (Raven) and Raven Care/Training |Apprentice) Loki is literally an apprentice under Vesper in these disciplines. Shae is also teaching him the less appropriate elements of Raven Low Speech. (Traps | Journeyman) Loki is very good at making traps for both canines and prey. His mother Terra taught him this all throughout his childhood. He is also good at noticing and evading traps for the same reason. (Stealth | Journeyman) Loki is naturally stealthy and is good at making use of the dark and other visual elements of stealth. Terra taught him about various aspects of stealth as a child. (Dexterity | Journeyman) Loki moves very quickly and with great control of his body. He is able to run at his full speed - which is considerable - through rough terrain for prolonged periods. (Thievery | Master) Loki is an adept thief and can almost all but lift the clothes off of someone who isn't looking out for it.

Weaknesses Loki is physically weak for his size. Loki is semi-crippled in his right hand. He is still able to use the hand to hold things, wield a weapon and other basic tasks but it is less dexterous than his left. Loki dislikes shifting with an intensity ranging from distaste to fear depending on his mood. It is not unusual for him to stay in the same form for weeks unless something demands that he shift. Loki is a kelptomaniac and has very little respect for the property of others. He will freely give away random trinkets he acquires though. Loki is prone to episodes of Psychosis where he suffers from Megalomania, Psychopathy and Intense Bloodlust.. These episodes can last from hours to days and can happen randomly, though that is rare. More often they are brought upon by an external influence, the most reliable of which is Loki killing another canine. The effect tends to be stronger and longer lasting if the kill involves Loki getting blood in his mouth, and less so with less personal killing methods.

Trade

Loki is willing to trade with anyone that offers. He will take any one-sided deals that favour him he thinks he can get, but doesn’t have a particular urge to cheat people unless he dislikes them, and in that case he’s more likely to just steal their stuff.

5.  History

Loki was born in Cour Des Miracles in August of 2009 to Terra, his father absent. He left the Court along with his mother when he was young, relocating to Inferni after a change in leadership. During his childhood in Inferni he got into various scrapes and situations, leading to him permanently disfiguring his right hand and making his first canine kill at the age of 6 months.

5.1  Timeline

2012

• August: Loki is born in Cour Des Miracles.
• November: Loki Relocates to Inferni.
• December Nothing important, general childhood stuff.

2013

• January Loki shifts for the first time and gets stuck due to panic, develops a fear of shifting. He has his first encounter with the Inferni Ravens and starts to learn about them, gaining a creepy raven stalker, Shae, in the process. Loki falls down a hole and suffers head injuries and severe breakage in his right paw, he nearly drowns due to the rising tides in the caves but Helotes rescues him. Loki and Shae slowly become closer due to her going for help when he was trapped.
• February Loki and Basilio get in a fight with a loner which ends in Loki killing the loner to save Basilio. In the process Loki shifts with his hand still broken, permanently damaging it. Loki goes crazy for a few days, the first severe incident of his psychosis, as a result of his kill, mangling the body and mounting the head on the border.
