— Inferni II —
Inferni was originally founded by Kaena Lykoi and Yasu Zarah on October 24, 2002. Since then, the clan has been considered an annoyance and curse by the wolf packs of the area. The Lykoi, de le Poer, and Massacre families make up huge portions of Inferni, and all three have pretty much been fostered by the clan, blossoming into the large families seen today.

2. Territory
Inferni spreads out from the peak of The Waste, stretching to the shoreline at the west to the forest of the east. A land dotted with large rocks and tall grass, the majority of the territory is plain-like, though a network of mostly unconnected caves make up the center of the clan’s territory. As before, Inferni has begun to line the borders of their land with the stick-mounted skulls of unfortunate wolves.
2.1 Subterritories
For complete descriptions, please see our website.
- Occasus Promontorium — Bright and sunny plains in the northwest corner of the clan's territory.
- The Caves — The primary place of residence within the clan. The territory rises up from the surrounding land; the caves slope gently downward.
- Hades Beach — The beach wraps around the Bay of Fundy's tiny inlet into the territory. It is named in honor of Hell's Coast.
- The Ravine — A deep, dangerous cut into the earth; an underground river and waterfall are here.
- Harrow Road Landfill — Ancient human remnants scatter the earth here.
- D'Neville Mansion — The Mansion is another place coyotes choose to reside. There are huge gardens and many, many rooms.
- The Forest of Nod — The Forest has many different types of trees, as it's part of The Dampwoods.
- The Springs — The Hot Springs are a tiny area of the northeast corner; there's usually some sort of steamy fog hanging around the heavy air here.
3. Basic Culture
Inferni is, and has always been, rather different from the rest of the groups of 'Souls. Inferni typically tends to attract two things: canines with a darker mind and a darker past, and canines of coyote descent. Although Inferni was originally founded as a coyote clan, for several generations now the clan has primarily consisted of hybrids of varying percentages. Inferni has been perceived as vicious, violent, and there are several negative stereotypes regarding the clan. It's certainly true that many of the Inferni coyotes hold certain prejudices against wolves, just as many of them simply wish to live in peace, preferring to keep themselves defending their territory rather than roaming the other lands in search of a fight. The Aquila for more than two years now, Gabriel, has worked hard to dispell the myth of the horrible and wicked Inferni, preferring to keep his clan on the defensive rather than the offensive.
3.1 Trespassers
Inferni does not take kindly to trespassers—several of the clan's members see trespassing as an open invitation to attack, and they will not hesitate to shed blood to drive home the message that coyote territory is private property. Most members of the clan will not act aggressively when encountered outside of Inferni territory, as the coyotes prefer not to stir up trouble with everyone they encounter. In the past, the coyotes have regarded entire groups of wolves as either friendly or the enemy—in the past, a tentative alliance was formed between Jaded Shadows and Inferni, based mostly on the relationship between Kaena Lykoi and Fatin Kali. However, in much more recent times, the coyotes have considered both Phoenix Valley and Dahlia de Mai enemy groups.
3.2 Family Ties
Within Inferni, there are varying degrees of comradery between the members. Often times members of Inferni are connected by blood, either via direct relationships like father and daughter or cousins, aunts, and uncles. Many of Inferni's coyotes descend from the Lykoi and de le Poer bloodlines, as well as the Massacre and Mogotsi lines. Inferni does not typically adhere to wolfish standards of respect and submission, and a higher-ranked coyote will rarely assert his or her dominance without reason, nor will a lower-ranked coyote display submission excessively, though exceptions are made in regard to the Quintus coyote, which may be regarded with some level of dominance as a form of stress-relief for the canines of Inferni.
3.3 Wolf Prejudice
Most of Inferni is prejudiced against wolves, though if a wolf acts ambivalent toward or even curious about coyotes, most of Inferni will treat them respectfully, with varying degrees of standoffishness. A smaller number of them will be outright nasty to wolves regardless of that wolf's feelings toward coyotes. There are one or two coyotes within Inferni that will attack with little or no provocation whatsoever, but for the most part, Inferni members tend to be pretty neutral unless the other wolf decides to be troublesome, especially on the unclaimed territories.
3.4 Border Decor
Inferni has practiced decorating their borders with skulls, bones, and other decorations, often splashed with red paint to ward off potential trespassers.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] This tradition was imported to Inferni thanks to Gabriel, who discovered this practice in the Scintilla War and brought it home to Inferni upon his return. Inferni has also been referred to as a "mafia" thanks to their extensive familial connections; in early Spring of 2008 every single member of Inferni was related in some way.

4.1 Active Packs
Dahlia is almost universally loathed by Inferni thanks to the First and Second Dahlian Wars. The feeling is sort of mutual; some Dahlians hate coyotes, some don't and are ambivalent or even against the war efforts. Though the war is officially over, of course some coyotes will begrudge the Dahlians for quite a while.
Inferni is not fond of Phoenix Valley, thanks to the tensions experienced throughout 2009. During the Second Dahlian War, Patriarch (first-in-command) stated that Inferni members can't come to the Valley for refuge, so the feeling is mutual. During the conflict, however, Jefferson Soul, Patriarch of Phoenix Valley, met with Gabriel de le Poer to discuss Haku Soul, and things went somewhat smoothly?
Inferni and Aniwaya are kind of far, so they don't see too much of each other. Kaena Lykoi really likes Dawali Amara—Kalona (first in command) of the eastern pack—and vice versa; after only a short time they became good friends, as they discovered their intentions (and a lot of other things) are quite similar. Though Dawali Amara staunchly declares neutrality, he offers medicinal aid to Kaena Lykoi in secret, elevating his status a significant amount in the Centurion's (second in command) eyes.
Inferni is pretty ambivalent toward the Miracles pack—Anselm de le Poer (??) and Kaena Lykoi think they're sort-of okay and Kaena really likes Jacquez Trouillefou King (duh-in-command come on, you know what a King is!), but nobody in Inferni really likes Firefly Sadira and she lives there. During the Second Dahlian War Jacquez says that his pack is neutral, but later he secretly offers help to Kaena and Firefly also offers information to Anselm. Following the Second Dahlian War, Rikka de le Poer moves to Cour des Miracles at the request of her brother, Aquila Gabriel de le Poer.
Gabriel de le Poer is pretty friendly with Anu Sheah; during the Second Dahlian War Savina Marino declares the pack's official neutrality. Kaena Lykoi has met two members of the Dreams pack, and they got along well enough—Inferni does not consider this pack a threat, though they are not extremely friendly with one another.

4.2 Inactive — 'Souls
As Laurel Booth and Nikita Eirisa were coyotes and Ahren de le Poer spent some time there, these packs entertained a pretty good relationship with one another. Ahren de le Poer was technically a member of Esper Hollow when he fought alongside Inferni in the First Dahlian War.
As Fatin Kali was here, they were pretty friendly. Ezekiel and Talitha were sent away by their father Gabriel with their godmother Fatin during the First Dahlian War when Labyrinth Glen was disbanded.
Nothing happened between these two and Insiemie was gone before anything could happen.
During the First Dahlian War, Tayui Aston met with Gabriel de le Poer to establish their pack's neutrality.[6] There was no conflict between the groups, and while Shadowed Sun was a pack, they maintained a policy of strict neutrality given the nature of the pack.
Though Gabriel had previously attacked her mate, Naniko D'Angelo pledged medicinal aid to Inferni during the First Dahlian War.

4.3 Inactive — Bleeding Souls
Inferni and Chimera were somewhat close—Kaena Lykoi and Ahren de le Poer were once mates and they had a litter of children together in Inferni, some of which lived in Inferni and some of which lived in Chimera. They visited one another a lot, and things were pretty good between the two packs. Despite this, Chimera's existence as part of Aremys did not factor into Inferni's consideration where the Aremys-Inferni War was concerned.
Inferni was pretty neutral toward Syemv. They weren't allies, but Kidorah Talik and Rurik Russo of Syemv formed a neutrality agreement once upon a time. Some members of Inferni were less forgiving toward Syemv, however, and would chase Syemv members out regardless of the neutrality agreement—grudges over Syemv taking up a little piece of coyote territory on their move southward eventually caused the Aremys-Inferni War.
Inferni was good with Aremys until Kaena Lykoi became leader in 2006; then things went downhill rapidly. By the beginning of 2007 Inferni and Aremys engaged in the Aremys-Inferni War and they chased the pack out of their territory and back to the Moaning Wood, original territory of Chimera.
Inferni was not friendly with Clouded Tears; coyotes caused the death of two Tears alphas, and they also engaged in the Inferni-Tears War. Tensions occurred at a few times between these two groups thanks to the coyote Mars's rape of Ceres Sadira (even though I don't think he was actually a member of Inferni; I think it just caused some members to dislike coyotes. Later, though, Laruku Tears took over Clouded Tears, and Inferni was once again friendly with Clouded Tears to some extent, as they possessed a half-coyote alpha (who also had children with the then-Aquila of Inferni, Kaena Lykoi.
Inferni was ambivalent toward Silent Dawn for the most part and vice versa; during the CoyoteInvasion the Dawn pack was not exempt from coyote violence, but beyond that they didn't bother one another.
Inferni and Storm were mutually ambivalent to one another up until Skoll showed up on Inferni borders a few times. Even then the dislike didn't really extend to the rest of the pack, as Gibraltar takes care of the problems.
Depends on where you look! For the entirety of Salvaged Eternity's reign, Inferni and Jaded Shadows weren't friendly at all, though the conflict between Kaena Lykoi and Sal never escalated beyond a personal fight. When Fatin Kali took over Jaded Shadows, the packs had a very good relationship due to Fatin's sort-of-secret relationship with Kae

5. History

The Inferni Website has the complete history of Inferni. See there for the in-depth history of Inferni.
5.2 Early History
Inferni was founded from the CoyoteInvasion of 2002. Numerous coyotes flooded the lands and caused trouble for the wolves; some of these coyotes had served in the Darklands clan together in their previous homeland. This inspired Yasu Zarah and Kaena Lykoi to found Inferni. Internal problems pretty much knocked out their efforts to terrorize the landscape; the addition and subsequent murder of Zulifer Yfel pushed Kaena to the brink. Both the founding leaders disappeared, leaving a young, deranged coyote in their place. Beneath him, the pack's membership dwindled to almost nothing.
5.3 Wolf-Friendly
The next two leaders of the pack established friendlier relationships with the other packs for the most part. Kidorah Talik was neutral with their closest neighbors, Syemv, as was her predecessor, Segodi Mogotsi. Here, the ranks were altered twice. First, Kidorah gave the clan real ranks; prior to her devising job-based ranks for the pack, there was just the Leader, Subleader, Members, and Youths of the clan. Segodi again changed the rankings.
5.4 Clouded Tears War
Inferni was, however, involved in the Inferni-Tears War. Tensions escalate to violence and death between the two packs over a murder committed by Laruku Tears; longtime Inferni member Janus is killed. Tedros Talik, son of Segodi is attacked, driving the Legatus to desire revenge. Karloff plays a major role in this war.
5.5 Roots
When Segodi disappears, Roane Kinsella takes his place. He is quick to abandon the clan to Kaena Lykoi, returning for the second time. She is unhappy with the old neutrality between the clan and neighbor Aremys, and when Hollow Nothing gives her a boost, things escalate to the Aremys-InferniWar.
5.6 New Inferni
Gabriel de le Poer inherited the clan from Kaena some months earlier. One night, the Voice tells him to set fire to the lands. He leads the remnants of Inferni through a cut in Halcyon Mountain and with the help of distant cousin Anselm de le Poer, he refounds the clan here.
5.7 First Dahlian War
Asphyxia Holocaust begins the First Dahlian War by attacking Mew Sadira. Haku Soul retaliates by attacking her and killing two other members of Inferni. There are large battles and tension between the two packs; when a stalemate of hostages arises, both sides concede their victims and the peace returns, for the moment.
5.8 Phoenix Valley Tensions
Phoenix Valley have some trouble, however, when several trespassers from the clan enter their territory over a long period of time. Iskata Sadira, former Matriarch of Phoenix Valley is killed by Gabriel de le Poer. Tensions escalated further when the subleader of Phoenix Valley, DaVinci Daite Nasphrite and the subleader of Inferni, Ryan de le Poer began to kindle a romance. The former of the pair trespassed on Inferni territory several times. Tensions died down primarily without conflict. Ryan de le Poer and DaVinci Daite Nasphrite eventually eloped to happytimes together.
5.9 Second Dahlian War
Kaena Lykoi is raped by Haku Soul. Naturally, Gabriel de le Poer takes issue with this; thus, the Second Dahlian War is born. Thanks to the war, Inferni's territory shifts northwards, and the clan's territory is enlarged but moved slightly.
