Merlin Knight is the last son of Skye Collins and Jazper Rhiannon-Knight, born in Cercatori d'Arte. He spent most of his childhood in Casa di Cavalieri until his father stepped down from leadership and moved to Midnight Shores where Merlin grew into a young adult. After meeting a group if entertainers and gypsies during his visit to Cour des Miracles in August of 2016, he struck out on his own as a loner.

Shortly after, he accidentally trespassed into the Thistle Kingdom of Salsola where his life was spared upon discovery but Merlin still paid the heavy price of his freedom. He was enslaved under the pack's Crone Loki Helsi for a while until he was sent to work at Salsola's Portland outpost where he was eventually sold off to slavers.

He was held in captivity for a while before his brother Arthur - in Portland to help Casa di Cavalieri establish their own outpost - happened upon him and bought back his freedom. They returned home to Casa di Cavalieri in April of 2018.

While investigating the strange flora growing along the coastline of the Broken Occident, Merlin and Arthur rescued a Courtier from the dangerous affects of the flowers. Once they were safely away from the intoxicating flora, Merlin realized that the woman they rescued was his childhood friend, Thyri Dawnbringer. Reunited at last, the pair began to meet regularly at Ross Farm Museum and, over the course of several weeks, their friendship blossomed into love.

In July of 2018, Merlin left Casa di Cavalieri and joined Cour des Miracles, where he lived with Thyri until the pack's brutal disbandment at the end of March 2019. The pair remained in the area alongside several other refugees, eventually forming the loner band Petite Cour until deciding to join a new pack, New Caledonia.

Merlin and his wife settled easily into the Realm. For a time, life was stable and uneventful – even hopeful again with the discovery of Thyri's pregnancy – until tragedy struck following the birth of his daughters. Shortly after giving birth, Thyri grew ill and both she and one of their three daughters, Rúna Stormbringer, passed away following a brief, albeit grievous, illness, leaving Merlin to raise their remaining children on his own.

Currently, Merlin remains in New Caledonia as a Peer, where he enjoys bow-making and woodworking. Although his daughters are now grown, he remains a figure of guidance and support to them both.

1.1  Appearance


With his dense pelt and balanced proportions, there is no mistaking Merlin for anything other than a wolf. Tall and sturdy with marked definition in his upper body, Merlin has begun to put on a little extra weight around his midsection after living in such an easy, prosperous lifestyle in New Caledonia in his older age. Although his snout is a little blunt, his jawline and cheekbones are well defined.

Although he prefers his Optime form, he will use his other forms with ease and tends to forgo clothing except for special occasions. Merlin wears his straight mane at medium length, often pushing it from his face so that its longer in the back.

Merlin has a dark palette, with orange accent marks and off-white on his face and neck.

  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Something of a jester, Merlin laughs and smiles often. There's an eternally impish twinkle in his eye and his quick wit shows through in subtle gestures, as well as words.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Merlin carries himself humbly, with a somewhat sagging posture that almost appears as though he's carrying the world on his shoulders.

As a puppy Merlin was a quieter soul, filled with youthful curiosity for the world. He had been bashful by nature but he grew into his wicked sense of humor. There is nothing that he enjoys more than making others smile. It doesn't matter if others are laughing with him or at him - if they are smiling - mission accomplished. Enslavement within the strict pack of Salsola and among many masters in Portland with different demands subdued him a little, but with his freedom regained he is slowly but steadily settling back into his old ways.

  • Skye Collins: Merlin's mother and former leader of Midnight Shores. She's probably the only canine on earth who can make him get his act together and be somewhat serious. Much of Merlin's witty personality comes from his fiery mother although he uses his cleverness much differently than her.
  • Jazper Rhiannon-Knight: Merlin's father and former leader of Casa di Cavalieri. He resembles his father most in build and structure. Jazper is the wolf Merlin admires more than any other, however he is convinced that he could never follow his father's footsteps.
  • Arthur Knight: These two are partners in crime and best buds till the end no matter what the situation or the distance. Their bond was only further solidified when Arthur bought back Merlin's freedom from slavery.

  • Esmeralda Collins: Winner of the best big sister in the whole world award. Merlin would do absolutely anything for her and her growing family.
  • Luca Knight: This is Merlin's all too serious older brother who tried to help Merlin learn to be more mature, but Luca's efforts were futile.
  • Ares Knight: His big brother Ares kindly took Merlin under his wing and continued his archery training when he moved to Midnight Shores. He aspires to be more like the light gray Knight.

  • Lorenzo Knight: An much older half brother of Merlin who always felt more like an uncle.
  • Callum Knight: A distant relative whom Merlin has a positive relationship with. Callum's supreme patience with Merlin as a puppy always impressed the lad. Callum was the first canine to teach him to read and write.
  • Sophia Knight: Older half sister whom Merlin took pleasure in being in company with. Especially for hunting lessons.

  • Thyri Dawnbringer: The first girl that young Merlin eventually found that he wasn't completely annoyed with. The lad met her while in Vinatta. Although her intense interest in him and his adventures were unnerving at first, he quickly found himself fond of Thyri. After all, who could hate someone who admired you? He promised to see her again one day and take her on an adventure with him but never did. Old sparks were reignited when they met in Casa di Cavalieri at the birthday bash in 2016 and Thyri is now of great interest to Merlin.
  • Nadia Ancientfire: When not with Arthur, Merlin had often been found puppy dogging the heels of the best mentor of all times. Nadia took Merlin under her wing in some of his most confusing moments as a youth when familial troubles were about. Besides teaching him many lessons on hunting and fighting which sticks with him strongly in adulthood, she introduced him to his choice weapon, the bow and arrow.

  • Alistair Callow-Knight: Growing up, Alistair was always like an uncle to Merlin and as trusted and highly regarded leadership of CdC, a positive role model in his puppyhood.
  • Lyris Stryder: Merlin left shortly after Lyris joined CdC's ranks but he most enjoyed teasing the serious she-wolf. Especially about her relationship with his relative, Luca.
  • Lola: Growing up, she was like an aunt to him.
  • Aveline Silver'Leaf?: A kind packmate who seemed to adore him as a puppy.
  • Kira Raine: Another goodhearted wolf. Merlin's strongest memory of Kira was when the fellow convinced the lad that losing his puppy teeth were a natural life process. It was not the end of the world. Kira helped calm down a hysteric young Merlin that day.
  • Guinevere Callow-Knight: One of many annoying playmates of Merlin's puppyhood. He particularly took a liking to teasing her more delicate ways she was raised. But in some aspects, Merlin was slightly jealous of the girl. Though even today, he'd never admit it!
  • River Amarok-Knight: Yet another extremely irritating girl that Merlin engaged in play with as a youth. Grudgingly, if Merlin were honest, she was actually a half-decent playmate for actually putting up with his many antics.
  • Tennyson Knight: The young stablehand that Merlin particularly liked to stir up trouble with.
  • Morty: An odd character for sure but a woman that Merlin could not help but admire for inexplicable reasons.
  • Isaac Coblentz: CdC's butcher but also was one of Merlin's closest friend, outside of his father, brother and mentor. Merlin had often been found pestering the heeler mix and sneaking scraps here and there.
  • Hammish Silverstein: Merlin's sparring partner while in Midnight Shores.
  • Elsie Hennamin: An MS packmate whom Merlin accompanied on a trading trip off the island. They sang about her fluffy lama, Carol, while crossing to the mainland.
  • Temo Wolfe: A packmate from MS that let Merlin practice on his archery course.
  • Wallace North: A cranky packmate from MS that Merlin helped woodwork with.
  • Skana Creo: The healer of MS that Merlin often helped with herb collecting and puppy-sitting his two young friends Saleos Creo and Asura Creo.
  • Carya Aston: An extremely goodnatured Vinátta member who took him in while the juvenile was long lost and far from home. Carya let him stay with her in VN until she could personally escort him back home to CdC.
  • Saut Asylum: A coyote boy Merlin met in his youth who became a competitive one time playmate. Still the single meeting gave a positive association with the coyote species and Inferni.
  • George Tibalt : A rather crude brute for an innocent lad to meet but oddly Merlin befriended the dog, infatuated with George's ferret companions.
  • Stjarna Fylgja: Although technically partly to blame for stealing him away from CdC when he was a young pup, thus finding himself utterly lost, he was fascinated by the odd canine. Her imagination and antics were wildly creative even for Merlin to keep up with.
  • Drakon Cwicseolfor: A jaguar that Merlin befriended as a pup when he was lost. After becoming convinced that the big kitty wouldn't eat him, the pair shared a meal.
  • Nanuluk?: The mother bear that kept Merlin from freezing to death in his first days lost. She opened his eyes to being more empathetic towards others, regardless of their species. Her bout with CdC kept her from aiding him in his journey home but he always admired her courage in helping the son of a formidable enemy. Nanu's show of mercy has not been forgotten.
  • Ginger Terra: An amiable terrier that Merlin met at CdC's grand but boring ball. Thanks to his new friend, the night wasn't so dull after all.
  • Kalila Damaichu: A pretty young lady that Merlin shared his meal with and convinced to come visit him one day in Midnight Shores.
  • Stormblade: This was a loner that he met while on a trading trip that he grew to respect.
  • Camellia Amaranthe : Another beautiful Sapient member that he meet while on a trading trip.
  • Izrian Firebringer: A friend of Thyri's that Merlin re-met at the borders of VN.
  • Danaë Aston: A friendly stranger who helped him when he thought he was bitten by a spider.
  • Silvano Sadira: The King of Cour des Miracles was met at the bash with the gypsies. Merlin took kindly to the man, enjoyed a drink with him as well as a baton throwing contest.
  • Vesper: An old grouchy coyote leader that Merlin nearly ran over when fleeing from angry bees. She shared some wise thoughts with him and he respects her and her clan.
  • Atalanta Kartal: Merlin mistook the Cavalier as a bear hunter while she was with her bear companion which offered an interesting encounter.
  • Ember Stormfall: A very good friend and confidant while he lived on the Island. He enjoyed spending time in her café and took interest in skulls because of her canine skull puppet.
  • Loki Helsi: Merlin's Master in Salsola who "saved" him from being killed for trespassing although he doesn't quite know what to think of the man.
  • Basilaris Eternity: Stays away from the brute because if Basilaris had his way, Merlin would be six feet under right now.
  • Weaver Valentine: This is the cruel man who was in charge of breaking Merlin for Loki and he doesn't trust him one bit.

Striebro is a large specimen with muscular hindquarters and a long, full mane and tail. Because of his greying gene, Striebro will continue to lighten with age. He is transitioning out of dappled grey and is nearly completely white.


Striebro has a calm temperament. He is docile in spite of his size and expresses a gently playful side.


  • Born in September 2016 to Gda, sired by a Svantevit horse named Milos, a grey stallion.
  • Was given to Krokar in October 2016 following AniWaya's disbandment.
  • Named by Gen during the livestock naming contest in December 2016. His name is Slovak for silver.
  • Found and claimed by Keabetswe following Krokar's disbandment in October 2018.
  • Gifted to Percival Parhelion when Keabetswe decided it was time to return home to southern Africa.
  • Brought along to New Caledonia at its founding, where he has resided quietly ever since.
  • Given to Merlin Knight after Percival recognized that he was neglecting the horse's care.
