Ragna Eklund is the last-born daughter of Lára Eklund and Brynjar Berg. She was born in Zion, and was a member of Boreas. She raised under the constant threat and conflict with the Sctintilla coyotes of the region, and she matured quickly and became desensitized to war and death as a result. Growing up in this atmosphere and losing loved ones and comrades to the enemy group made Ragna full-heartedly support to the Boreas cause. She, truly, did not believe Boreas to be in the wrong; and, if anything, they were the victims of the drawn-out conflict with the coyotes. When Amund Fannar led a splinter group to Nova Scotia, Ragna went along as their scout and spy. She played an active roll in the Second Boreas War against Salsola and Inferni in January 2017.
When Salsola and Inferni launched a final, surprise assault on the Boreas encampment, however, Ragna and her closest ally, Snorri Niequist, decided to flee from the losing battle. Unfortunately, Snorri’s injuries overtook him, and Ragna was left to wander the northeastern region on her own, too ashamed to return to Zion as likely the sole survivor of the failed mission. She traveled from place to place for a year before she was met by Felix Nightlark, who asked that she consider living in a group again. Ragna eventually became one of the founding members of Mistfell Vale in February 2018, where she has remained as a scout and fighter.
Ranga was a member of Mistfell Vale, sorted into the Wolverthorne household. She held the co-rank of Scout II, and was a Drakehund II. She remained in the Vale until it disbanded in June 2020. In the aftermath, Ragna and her children went northwest, traveling into Canada, the Great Plains, and the American Northwest. Ragna died from injuries received when the group encountered a grizzly bear in late summer 2022.

1.2 Personality
PersonalityRagna is not a woman who is known for being very vocal. What she lacks in voice, she makes up for in her actions. She's calculating and very intelligent, though, she may not let on all that she knows. Her mind is a steel trap, and there is little that she will forget, and those that cross her should be wary of this. She is a woman who is loyal to the few she respects; to others, she can be quite vengeful and spiteful. She will tell a trusted ally of everything she knows, an acquaintance of only the basics, but, to someone she deems an “enemy” or has fault with, she may lie or "forget" about an important detail if it means getting justice for a perceived wrong. She values honor, but she also values justice, and is not above dirtying her hands (and her hands are filthy). She's hardworking and is never one to let a job go unfinished. She grasps onto orders and tasks given to her quickly, and, once she gets a routine down, it's very rare if she doesn't master the skill or task she's been given (i.e. she's taught the "proper" way to perform a scouting patrol once, it takes very little time for her to get it down to something that's second nature, if not perfect it and its methods). She is concise and methodical, and someone that a true ally can rely on time and time again to come through for them. Ragna is someone that, so long as you are on the same team, she will protect you, though, how well will depend on how strong the relationship is. Traits

Biases
SexualityRagna is predominantly heterosexual with a strong preference for strong, athletic males of wolf-dominate descent. While not the type to turn her nose up at a one-night-stand or fling, she looks down upon those that are overly promiscuous with multiple partners or are unfaithful when in a relationship. Having denounced her faith and the teachings of God, Ragna no longer views homosexuality as a sin, however, she still finds male-on-male relationships disgusting due to the nature of mating involved in it. Surprisingly, Ragna has no qualms with female-on-female relationships, and, in fact, secretly supports it. Spirituality & SubstancesShe was raised following an interpretation of Pentecostalism, though, her beliefs were not as strong as many of her fellow packmates. Growing up, her older brother, Melker, planted the seed of doubt in their God, and this only steadily grew as Ragna grew older. In the wake of the Second Boreas War, where the Boreas faction suffered a total loss and Ragna lost her closest friend and ally in a foreign land, Ragna completely denounced her faith and became an atheist. Of substances, Ragna is not above drinking, however, she doesn’t find any appeal in getting completely hammered, and looks poorly upon those who are in a constant state of drunkenness or are complete alcoholics. She’s smoked cannabis a time or two in her younger years, but, due to her work as a scout and spy, dislikes the scent that lingers on her from smoking in general. |

Summary | |||
Glade (American Marten) | ||||
|
|
Mistfell Vale members may assume:
| ||
Skills & Abilities
Personality: Glade is the color to Ragna’s greyscale. He’s friendly and outgoing, and can be very talkative in comparison to his Luperci companion. He is a compassionate and loving soul despite the war, terror, and heartbreak he has seen in his life. He is someone who is always willing to lend a helping hand, and one to put others first (even when there’s food involved). Reliable, loyal, and brave, he is a desirable ally and companion to keep around. He likes to be included in things, and takes great offense when he is treated less than a Luperci.
He is not afraid to throw himself headfirst into danger, and is protective enough of those he loves to face off against something five or ten times his size. He loves Ragna dearly, and, wherever she goes, he will follow. His adoration for Ragna has sense extended to her children, Skadi, Sindri, and adopted “son,” Einarr. He is protective of them, and thinks of them as part of his responsibility too. When Ragna’s oldest son, Steinarr, was killed by a coyote while under his watch, Glade took it very hard.
History: Glade was one of three kits born to a pretty, single mother. Their father had left their mother relatively quickly after their conception, as was the marten way. She often spoke fondly of their mysterious paternal figure though, and frequently told the three boys of the "legacy" they'd have to fill. Glade and his brothers lived a relatively normal childhood; learning all things "marten" while constantly fighting each other like boys often did. They had been on the road to a successful rearing and were a little over a month or so away from their mother sending them out on their own into the world when tragedy struck their little family. The Luperci, two sides caught up in a war with one another, had moved their battleground to Glade's home territory.
Their pretty pelts had caught the eye of a particular individual, and, soon, the predators found themselves to be the prey. They called the Luperci the "Pelt-taker", for, he was donned in the skins of a multitude of animals. Glade's brothers were caught, killed, and skinned one by one; each one eventually being added to the Pelt-takers "skin." The little marten was determined to save and protect his mother until the warmongers moved on, and with it, hopefully the Pelt-taker. The martens moved from den to den in an effort to elude their pursuer, but, they were eventually found. The Pelt-taker tore their den apart, and the two martens were forced to fight back. In an effort to save her last remaining son, his mother sacrificed herself so that Glade could live to see another day. Young, alone, devastated, scared, and overcome with grief from his losses, Glade's attempts at avoiding the Pelt-taker were sloppily made, and, eventually, he too was found.
As the Pelt-taker came upon him though, a whistle shot through the air, and the Luperci fell to his knees, grasping his throat. The scent of blood suddenly coated the air, and, as Glade dove for cover, two figures appeared out of the dark shadows of the night. They too, were Luperci, but, judging from their short ears, they appeared to be from the "enemy" side of the Pelt-taker's. They descended upon the Pelt-taker, relieving him of his weaponry and second "skin." They conversed and left. Curious about his unknown saviors--and afraid that there may be more Pelt-takers after him--Glade followed them back to their camp.
Later on, Glade found out the two individuals to be a young Ragna Eklund and one of her older brothers. The marten followed them around, feeling an odd sense of protection when near them or their short-eared comrades. Eventually, his luck at remaining unseen ran out, and he was discovered by Ragna. She found him to be "cute," and, instead of driving him off, decided to let him stay with her and her brother. Eventually, Glade learned how to converse with her, and later decided to stay with her when the Boreas group were given the orders to return home.
He remained a permanent companion of Ragna's from there on out, going with her on missions, and, even acting as an asset to their sorties. He was there for her when she lost many of her family to the Sctintilla coyotes, and is one of the few to have ever seen beneath her hard exterior mask. When Ragna was one of the few selected to go northeast to Nova Scotia in a second war against two faraway packs, Glade went with her.
In the aftermath of defeat, Glade remained at Ragna’s side after Snorri Niequist died, and was her sole, intelligent companion for a year while she moved from place to place in the northeastern lands. Eventually, they were met by Felix Nightlark, who tried to coax Ragna into thinking about living with a group again. It was Glade who ultimately convinced Ragna to, truly, consider the invitation, and they became part of the founding group that created Mistfell Vale.

Brimstone (Horse) | ||||
|
Mistfell Vale members may assume:
| |||
Skills & Abilities
Personality: Brimstone was a product of a desire for a horse that could go long distance, could put on a burst of speed, and could be aggressive enough to fight alongside his rider in border skirmishes. As such, Brimstone is a very hardy horse that takes and responds readily to commands, and is brave and confident in his hooves, his kicks, and his teeth. He’s not afraid to charge or attack something he perceives as a threat, and is especially wary of coyote/obvious coyote-dominate hybrids.
He is highly intelligent, and finds it easy to learn new tricks and has even been able to open poorly secured gates. He is very vigilant of his surroundings, always wary of a threat that may be lurking in the shadows. Brimstone is not an overly friendly horse, and tends to treat strangers with cold indifference. Around those he is comfortable with, however, it’s like he’s a completely different horse. He can be affectionate, and has shown to be rather docile, tolerant, and even protective of Ragna’s children, Skadi and Sindri, and adopted “son”, Einarr.
History: Brimstone was born in Zion, foaled by Tanja’s—Ragna’s older sister—prized mare, Dustkicker, and sired by a handsome stallion named Wayfarer. He was originally Ragna’s brother, Melker’s, horse, and was primarily trained by the man up until his untimely death and the death of Ragna’s horse at the time, Trailblazer. Ragna took ownership of him, and when she joined the Boreas faction group that were headed to fight in the northeast, Brimstone was brought along. He aided Ragna during the Second Boreas War, and helped her escape when the outcome for Boreas drew bleak.
In the aftermath, Brimstone has remained as Ragna’s primary riding horse. He has accompanied her on patrols and scouting tasks beyond their new home in Mistfell Vale, as well as the occasional trip to Portland.

Jack (Horse) | ||||
|
|
Mistfell Vale members may assume:
| ||
Skills & Abilities
Personality: Jack has always been a compliant, quiet, and patient horse. Since being retired from his war days, however, more of Jack’s gentle giant, mellow, and friendly personality has come to the surface. He’s a very laidback horse, and very little seems to bother him. Jack is very aware of his feet and size, which is a blessing because of him being a rather big boy. He loves to be talked to, being pet, fed, and just given affection and attention in general. He’s very good with small creatures, particularly puppies.
When put to work, Jack is a very hardworking and reliable horse to get the job done. He doesn’t easily spook, and is willing to work with and comply to his handler’s commands. While he wasn’t trained for fighting, Jack is not afraid of combat, and will charge his way into battle at his rider’s demand.
History: Jack was bred and trained in Zion, and was property of the Boreas wolves. His purpose in life had always been to become a creature of heavy labor, and he quickly found himself under the ownership of weaponsmith, Snorri Niequist, who needed the horse to carry weapons and supplies. When Snorri joined the faction group headed to Nova Scotia, Jack was brought along, serving Snorri during the Second Boreas War up until his owner’s death.
Ragna took responsibility of him thereafter. She nearly sold him in Portland, but found herself unable to let go of her friend’s companion, and chose to keep him instead. Retired from his days as a weaponsmith’s horse in the midst of a never-ending war, Jack enjoys a peaceful living as little more than a glorified pack pony now.
