1.  Introduction

Tucked away in the heart of Mistfell Vale territory is an old human town of brick and stone - discovered in the heart of the coldest season, it was aptly named Winterwynd. Winterwynd isn't a large city, but its tough buildings have withstood the test of time due to their hard and well-built exteriors. Not all of the city has shared this fate, however; on the outskirts, wooden houses have been reclaimed entirely by the earth, leaving large gaps of debris and nature in the town.

This has caused Winterwynd to hold both houses of stone, brick, and concrete as well as feral-like dens made from the rubble of other houses. Pushing up against the town is more wilderness with various nooks, crannies, and even small cave systems that a more feral Luperci could call home.

2.  Description

The centre of the town is filled with houses, both relatively well-standing and completely dilapidated. Other buildings such as churches, museums, and a town hall stand in the centre as well.

As one strays from the heart of the city, the landscapes become more and more natural, and potential feral dens begin to crop up from fallen houses, logs, rocks, and natural formations.

2.1  Old Brassard Church

One of the many churches that surround Winterwynd, the Old Brassard Church is exceptionally large and spacious and serves well for meeting places and as an area for celebration. It's also a "common room" for members of the Vale to gather, relax, eat, or stay until they find a more permanent residence. It currently serves as a guesthouse of sorts for visitors and houses a small storage room at the rear, which stocks items of an everyday nature such as food, drink, and emergency supplies.

3.1  The Town

House Vacant?
  • --
House
  • Single-story house made of brick and stone near the forested edge of town. Two bedrooms, a living room, and a small kitchen combined with an equally small dining area. A sturdy carport attached to the house acts as a shelter for her horses.
House
  • A small single story cobble-walled house with a slanted tin roof that sheds snow in the wintertime. There is a hearty stone fireplace with a mantle, one fur-adorned bed and a cabinet that currently serves as storage for paint materials and raw hunting materials. A study rests in the corner. The porch is small and vine-wrapped but otherwise functional.
House
  • A single-story, stone house down the street from Old Brassard Church. Ivy covers the exterior, and the doors and windows are accented with faded brickwork. It has a small living room; a long, thin kitchen that leads to the backyard garden; and a bedroom with two, small storage closets.
House
  • A single story home with three different rooms, a living space and two bedrooms. The front porch has had its roofing torn off by powerful winds and the path leading to the home is overgrown and broken, in need of repair. Windows have been boarded but it is moderately comfortable.
Church
  • Restored and patched, Wyvern Church looks more like a small castle now. Gardens in the back have planters for food, textile and herbs. Wildflowers litter the front yard beyond a stone fence and Ezra's cart is stored in front of the church. Inside is one large room and a maze of small rooms behind.
House
  • A medium, one story, brick house not far from the Old Brassard Church. Has three main rooms: a large front room that has an older wood-burning stove and is used as the main living space. Another large room is used as a workshop. The smaller of three rooms is used a bedroom.
House
  • A single story, red brick/wood home in the shadows of the Old Brassard Church. Thatched roof, thick, opaque pane windows. There’s crawling ivy up the back walls, a garden space, quaint yard and a back-porch area. Inside there are three bedrooms. In the living room there’s a large stonework fireplace.
House
  • Not far from Wyvern Church stands a single storey dwelling with a large porch. Inside is a large reception room that leads to a single bedroom, a kitchen, and a small storage room. A large dilapidated public utility shed sits out front on a street corner, covering a den dug deep under one corner. Sizeable, having been dug deeper over time, the den is just large enough to accommodate most in their lupus size.
  • Formerly inhabited by Daniel, until he defected to DCG.
House Vacant?
  • Just down the road from Saga's home, a small cottage sits, newly repaired with a thatch roof. A long dirt driveway leads up to the door, flanked by a crumbling stone wall. The interior sports three rooms; the main room serves as living space, with a galley kitchen to one side; an old iron stove near the center. Two small rooms beside each other are of similar size; one the bedroom, the other once served as a toilet, now is a storage room for traded wares. On the exterior of the stone home, a makeshift stall for Baelish's horse.
House
  • A sturdy two-story house with parts of the second-story floor collapsed. The downstairs contains a small bedroom, storage room, and a living space made more spacious with most of the second-story ceiling above missing. Stairs in the storage room lead to another storage place overlooking the living space.
House
  • Formerly a two-story house, the upstairs has crumbled to the point of being no longer livable. The downstairs is still sturdy enough with three rooms. The front door leads to the main living space. The former kitchen has had all of its appliances ripped out, but the remaining cupboards make good storage. The third room is used as a bedroom with a pile of furs and blankets.
House
  • A one-story house located on the outskirts of Winterwynd. There are four major rooms in the house: the living room, kitchen, storage room, and bedroom. The living room has a worn couch, a small fireplace, and a sectioned off corner lined with furs for the pups. The storage room is used to hold trading goods, most that had been brought from Baelish's home. The bedroom contains a double bed lined with furs and a blanket. There is a small side room that is closed off with a curtain. This room is Zuri's "bat room" for her to house wild bats or for hibernation purposes. Their home has an outside deck with a table and two chairs.

3.2  The Dens

Den
  • While spacious, this den is too short-ceilinged for an Optime. A fallen tree provides the main "structure" of the home and an entryway; another stands behind it, its roots creeping into the stone, rubble, and debris that form the walls. Cracks and gaps allow light in.
Den Vacant?
  • --
Den
  • A small and narrow den, too low-ceilinged for an Optime to stand upright inside. It is formed from a large bank of gathered dirt and rubble piled up against a single section of crumbling brick wall. It is basic and tunnel-like, though with a fairly deep interior.
Den
  • Spacious and tall enough for an optime to get in-if they duck slightly. A leather hide serves as the doorway.
