Gabriel le Poer

Gabriel de le Poer is the son of Kaena Lykoi and Ahren de le Poer. He was born into Inferni but ran away from home after witnessing his brother's brutal murder. During a youth spent wandering, including a short-termed stint in Inferni, he eventually traveled to Scintilla where his long-lingering schizophrenia developed fully. After leading an assault on enemy forces, he started a large fire that destroyed SoCal.

Following this, Gabriel returned to Inferni where he worked his way up through the ranks and eventually obtained the position of Aquila. He and his mate Faolin Mogotsi had two children, Ezekiel and Talitha. Not long after this, on the behest of what he believed to be the Voice of God, Gabriel started the fire which destroyed the lands east of the Halcyon Mountains. He used his advanced knowledge of the fire to safely lead Inferni to The Waste, owing to a lucky encounter with his relative Anselm, where they resettled.

During his time as Aquila, Gabriel led the clan faithfully and acted as its commander during both the First Dahlian War and Second Dahlian War. He remained a leader of Inferni until an injury forced his retirement.

He left 'Souls in the fall of 2011 and current lives with his mate, Alaine Winters, in Airgid Gleann.

Essentials While Gabriel is a hybrid, the majority of his blood is wolf, and as such he is built much heavier then a coyote. He is broad shouldered and has a wolf-like pelt, though his dark face and its flow along his spine speaks more clearly of a domestic lineage. Though his muzzle is wide, he has a sharp profile, suggestive of his coyote blood. Humanization: Minimal

Lupus 100 lbs (45.3 kg) ↔ 32 in (81.3 cm) There is hardly any doubt that Gabriel is a halfbreed, as he resembles a wolf almost completely. He is smaller than the average male wolf, but none the less the largest member of his family.

Secui 200 lbs (90.7 kg) ↔ 40 in (101.6 cm) If a wolf and a bear had a baby, he would look like that. Gabriel hardly ever uses this form.

Gabriel is short spoken, though not unintelligent. He thinks in militaristic terms and shows little emotional attachment to most people. This makes him come off as cold, though around his family this persona relaxes a bit.

5.  History

Gabriel was the first born of Kaena Lykoi and Ahren de le Poer’s litter, and for the first three months had a relatively normal childhood. After the death of his brother, Baneesh, Gabriel disappeared from Inferni. He was raised for the five months by a small group of coyotes and hybrids who thought his appearance was divine providence. After killing a wolf in retaliation for slaughtering the woman who had been serving as his surrogate mother, Gabriel left the group. He returned to Inferni and was generally content, having some of his siblings and mother (briefly) present, and developing a close relationship with Faolin Mogotsi. He served as a spy during this time, though the Inferni-Tears War soon upset his life. Faolin was attacked my a member of Clouded Tears, whom Gabriel slaughtered in a rage. Unable to handle the guilt, Faolin fled Bleeding Souls, leaving Gabriel emotionally distraught. He hid in a church for several days, inflicting a stigmata-type wound on himself at the command of The Voice--something he understood to be God. The boy emerged only after his sister, Rikka, convinced him to do so. Not long after this did the boy leave Inferni once more, explaining to Segodi that he was "going to find God".

Over the next several months Gabriel traveled southwest, winding up in what was formerly Utah and joining Scintilla. He became a sub-leader in another coyote/hybrid group, aiding them in a vicious race war against the then dominant wolf pack in the area. Though the coyote clan won the debated territory, their leader was not content with just this. Under his urgency the remaining wolves were chased further west and into California. It was here that Gabriel again heard The Voice; it told him to burn. Without hesitation, Gabriel started a bushfire that swallowed the small city and the entirety of wolves and coyotes whole.

When Gabriel finally returned home, he found his mother leading the clan. Once again he settled into the role of soldier, though began to show signs of instability--such as attacking his brother, younger half-brother, and beginning the tradition of placing skulls on the Inferni borders. Gabriel was severely wounded after driving a wolf from Inferni, rupturing his deltiod to the point it still causes him pain to this day. Other incidents continued to plague Inferni, though Gabriel repaired his relationship with Faolin during this time, taking her on as his mate. In mid October Kaena left Inferni without any explanation, and Gabriel took up her role as Aquila. Faolin gave birth to three children in February, though one was stillborn, and Gabriel dutifully helped in raising them as he had Kaena's last litter.

On April 1st, God once again spoke to Gabriel. Obeying this Voice, the Aquila took a can of kerosene to the northern forest and set Bleeding Souls to burn. He led Inferni west, through a mountain pass he had used when returning home, and Inferni reformed the next day with the aid of Gabriel’s second-cousin, Anselm de le Poer, who had been living in an area called The Waste. Gabriel made Inferni’s official policy to be aggressive to wolves.
