Born in the feral regions of Trillium Hollow, Milos Parhelion navigated himself through abandonment, conflict, and slavery. He served over a year as a serf within a plantation in West Virginia? before orchestrating a revolt. The assault, later dubbed the Barnes Rebellion, resulted in the death of Milos' lover, Chaska, and the subsequent murder of his slavemaster, Ulick Barnes. After the traumatic events, Milo escaped servitude and traveled north to the territory he first called home.
After discovering his previous pack had been dissolved and its remaining members scattered, Milos was brought to the pack Viburnum, lead by his sister Ayrin, where he and his friends were granted temporary refuge. He remained in Viburnum for several months before continuing his journey north to Nova Scotia, where he arrived in July of 2014 and later joined Krokar only a few short months afterward. Milos spent the majority of his life in Nova Scotia there, working as a Leatherworker, Drover, and Tailor before eventually becoming a Captain in the pack.
Jaded by the brutalities of forced subservience and physical punishment, Milos wears a facade of cheer and optimism, though his psyche is riddled with anxiety, hesitation, and doubt. In spite of everything, he found love in January of 2016 and began a devoted relationship with Eliza Cormier. They officially became mates in February of 2016 and have had two litters together, one on August 25th, 2016 and a second on March 1st, 2018. They lived together in Fiskebyn until an act of arson destroyed it on October 25th, 2018.
In the chaos of Krokar's destruction, Milos and his daughter, Daisy, were abducted by Degaré Ravencroft and Talbot Kingsford and held captive with the Eyes of Omni. Under the conditions that they not harm his daughter, Milos agreed to help Degaré and Talbot find an old enemy and, after several weeks of searching, their efforts finally paid off when Milos found her caught in an old trap. With his daughter's safety forefront in his mind, he betrayed Otilie's trust and then was made to watch as Degaré brutally murdered her.
Species: Being predominantly wolf with a broad muzzle and rounded ears, the only obvious signs of his dog heritage are that of his light build and long, thin legs.
Fur: Thick, straight fur covers his body.
Optime Hair: Kept short and parted to the right.
Facial Features: Rarely seen without a smile, which varies in size depending on context and mood. Milos also has a sparkle of confidence in his bright eyes that is difficult to miss and often betrays his overwhelming friendliness.
Build and Size: Taking after his wolfdog mother, Milos' black-and-white pelt lays on a thin frame filled out with lean muscle. He generally carries himself humbly and unassumingly.
Humanization: Despite his feral beginning, Milos is very humanized. Though he often forgoes clothing the upper half of his body now, he had, for many years, always concealed the labyrinth of scars along his back. See clothing for more details. He never shifts out of his Optime form.

1.3 Alterations and Wardrobe
Several thick, raised scars criss-crossing Milos' back.
One long scar stretching from his back over his left rib cage and up his chest to end at his right shoulder.
A knot of scar tissue marks the left side of his chest near his armpit.
A dislocation of his left arm during the Austringer Hostility and again during the Familia Sugit plot has left this shoulder weaker and unstable. It is prone to dislocating again.
Clothing and Accessories
Weapons and Armor
Button-down shirts: Worn with the sleeves rolled up and never seen without.
After years of use and frequent patching, Milos' shirts have become threadbare and are no longer repairable. As a result, rather than weave new fabric, Milos has decided to face his fears and forgo covering the shameful scars on his back.
Cargo shorts: Dark khaki in color and always worn.
These, too, have degraded to uselessness and have been discarded. In lieu of shorts, Milos dons a loincloth to keep this region clothed, as he still has residual feelings of uneasiness and shame surrounding his experiences with sexual abuse.
Outwardly, Milos is a friendly, humorous, and caring wolfdog who will go to great lengths for the things he believes in. Because he is often seen with a smile on his face and a gleam in his bright eyes, he is highly approachable and is glad to offer advice or help to those who seek it. Being an extrovert, Milos prefers to remain in the constant company of others but is just as happy engaged in vibrant conversation as he is sitting in amiable silence. As much as he likes being around others, he will often keep others at a distance emotionally and shies away from touch due to the physical and psychological trauma from his past.
Inwardly, however, Milos battles with a lot of painful memories that make him feel depressed and occasionally anxious. Nightmares frequently plague his dreams, oftentimes resulting in sleepless nights. Because of this, Milos can regularly be seen stealing catnaps during the day when he feels safest. Ashamed of his past and not wanting to be burdensome to others, he mainly keeps his pain and fears to himself but will often confide in Sorcha.
Though generally quirky and self-deprecating, Milos has no qualms about telling others off if he feels slighted or offended, but it takes quite a bit of prodding to get this side out of him.
Speech: Lightly masculine with a gentle, friendly undertone.
General Posture and Body Language: Carrying himself with confidence, Milos' posture is straight but relaxed. His bright eyes are kind and warm.
Scent: Sage, soil, sugar maple, goats, Krokar.
Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Will often scratch the back of his head when embarrassed and taps his chin when thoughtful. He also smiles. A lot.
Outlook: Optimistic. There is always something to hope for.
Providing for his family: Not only with food, but also with emotional support, education, and safety. Milos is committed to keeping his family healthy and safe.
Freedom: A former slave, Milos deeply values his freedom and may go to great lengths to ensure he never loses it again.
Happiness: It is important to Milos that he, his family, and his friends achieve happiness in their daily lives and he will gladly offer to help someone if something is troubling them.
Usefulness: Milos works hard to benefit his people and prove himself a valuable part of any community. It is important to him that everyone work together in order to better serve the greater good.
Krokar: The pack that took him and protected him despite the trouble he inadvertently brought with him, Milos is devoted to Krokar and has made great strides in the pack. This is his home and he will do anything to keep it strong and safe.
Enslavement: The loss of being in control of himself, his decisions, and his body was a significant trauma in Milos' life and he fears finding himself in that situation again.
Powerlessness: Whether bound, coerced, or otherwise limited, the idea of being powerless to stop something from happening, or to change the outcome of something defining, worries Milos.
Loss of family or friends: Particularly if he could have saved them, but was somehow powerless to.
Inability to protect loved ones: Doubly so if he is aware that harm is falling upon his loved ones an he can do nothing to keep them safe from it.
Species: Weary of coyotes following her father's war with Inferni but has personally had no notable issues with them.
Species: Milos can sometimes be weary of dogs and high dog-content hybrids.
Color: Merle, particularly on short coats, reminds him unpleasantly of someone from his past.
Non-Luperci: Having been born into a non-Luperci pack, Milos respects and feels very at ease around them.
Gender: While he doesn't have a particularly strong bias, he prefers the company of females and submissive males.
Age: Milos enjoys being around pups for their innocence and the reprieve from reality they provide him.
Bisexual: Milos has had sexual encounters with both males and females, though he prefers the company of females over males.
Sensitive: A history of sexual abuse has left Milos shameful of his own desires. He often becomes flustered and uncomfortable during discussions about sex and can quickly become uneasy if he perceives someone viewing him as a sexual object.
Alcohol: Alcohol often made his former slave master significantly more violent when he was intoxicated and, occasionally, used to keep Milos compliant during episodes of abuse. As a result, Milos avoids alcohol quite vehemently.
Marijuana: Another drug used by Ulick, Milos has less of a bias against marijuana but still tends to avoid it since it reminds him too much of his former slave master.
Tobacco: Milos doesn't smoke it, but it reminds him of Krokar so he doesn't mind the smell of it.
As a pup, Milos was enthralled by the spiritual tales told by his father's pack. Now, as an adult, he has realized how many different forms of spirituality are believed by so many different canines. While he still enjoys the stories from his old pack, he believes them now to be little more than fables told to pups. As a result, he likes to tell them to younger audiences who may find them more exciting.
Main Family Relationships
Eliza Cormier: Starting out as a simple acquaintance, the pair shared a relevant moment together in the summer of 2015 that later defined their subsequent friendship. Slowly, he shared pieces of himself with Liz and was rewarded in like with pieces of her as well. Though she confessed her love for Storm Cormier and bore his child, Milos recognized his love for her and in January 2016, after Liz broke off her relationship with Storm, the pair confessed their love for one another. They officially became mates in early February of 2016 and have had four litters (one of which, tragically, resulted in stillbirths) together, totaling six children.
Willow Cormier: Eliza's daughter through Storm Cormier. When he and Eliza became mates early in the year of 2016, Milos also adopted Willow as his daughter. Though she is not of his blood, Milos adores Willow and treats her no differently than he would his own brood.
Logan Cormier: Milos' firstborn son, and the eldest child of his first litter with Eliza. Of all his children, Logan seems to have taken after him the most. He introduced Logan to the livestock of Krokar and helped teach him the ways of animal husbandry. Logan eventually achieved his Drover co-rank and Milos couldn't be prouder.
Bramble Parhelion: Milos' secondborn son, and the youngest child of his first litter with Eliza. Much different from his brother, Bramble can sometimes be more difficult for Milos to effectively connect with, though he loves him unconditionally. After the trauma that Bramble endured from Ailie Morgan's disappearance in the summer of 2017, the young man has begun taking a lot of risks to generate adrenaline rushes. This is difficult for Milos to understand, though he remains caring and supportive.
Daisy Parhelion: Milos' firstborn daughter, and the eldest child of his second litter with Eliza. He and Daisy have been through a great deal together following Krokar's destruction, having both been abducted by a nefarious cult, and he continues to be overprotective of her.
Percival Parhelion: Milos' thirdborn son, and the middle child of his second litter with Eliza. Of all of his sons, he and Percy are perhaps the most distant Though Milos' love for him is no less than it is for any of his children, the two of them just don't seem to have very much in common.
Cora Cormier: Milos' secondborn daughter, and the youngest child of his second litter with Eliza. He adores Cora and is eager to get to know her better as an adult following his return to their family.
Inara Ailurus: A long lost child who turned up on Krokar's doorstep following the violent destruction of her family and home. Milos accepted her into the pack and took her into his family. He feels responsible for Inara's life and success and has adopted her as his daughter.
Thistle Cormier: Milos' fourthborn son, and the only child of his third, and final, litter with Eliza. The product of his reunion with his mate following months of being missing from the family, Thistle's existence was unknown to him until recently, when he returned home after leaving for several weeks to recover his adoptive mother. He is still getting to know his youngest son.
Italics indicates an unknown relationship; they may be offboard or the relation is merely uncertain. * indicates character does not know this person by name.
Other Family Relationships
Walker Dupree: Walker arrived in Krokar following the resolution of the Austringer Hostility, causing Milos to initially feel uncertain about the wolfdog. However, their shared interest in horses and the man's oddly familiar antics melted any reservations that Milos had. In the winter of 2016, it was revealed that Walker was, in fact, an adopted brother of his from the Estate, then named Kodiak. Due to a gene that lightened Walker's pelt, and many years of being apart, Milos hadn't recognized him. The revelation of Walker's identity initially caused a great deal of confusion and guilt, but time and forgiveness has brought them together again. Milos champions Walker's strengths and encourages him to live in the present, rather than the past.
Slađana: In the late spring of 2019, after his brother discovered that she was now under the ownership of a local Luperci, Walker and Milos departed on a campaign to finally free their adoptive mother finally from the confines of slavery. After much trepidation and tense moments, the brothers were successful in their efforts and Slađana took her first steps into freedom. Reunited now after many years of being apart, Milos is getting to know his adoptive mother again and hopes that they can move on from the horrors of their past.
By and large, Milos is fairly skilled with most livestock but shows a particular proficiency with goats and sheep. As a slave, his primary duty in the plantation was caring for and cleaning after the animals kept by his slave master. This was one job, however, that the wolfdog didn't much mind.

One of the first things he learned after his first shift was how to tan leather, the end product being immensely useful for various reasons around the plantation. Milos has continued to practice and refine this skill and can often be seen tanning the hide of various creatures after a kill. In addition to tanning leather, Milos occasionally was made to work the finished hide for final uses. He can only do a few easy things, such as make straps and rudimentary bags, but has begun to learn more complex patterns, most notably dagger sheaths which he learned from Tyris Kurosoul.
Milos has studied under Sorcha's watchful eye diligently, learning all that she knows about tailoring. Through much trial and error, he has become proficient in the trade and and make several garments without much hassle. He was started to seek out other known tailors in the area, however, in order to expand on his knowledge and improve his technique. In addition to learning about tailoring, Sorcha has also taught Milos everything she can about handspinning wool. Repetitive and mundane, he has been able to maintain his knowledge of this skill but strives for improvement.
Hunting, Fishing, and Gathering
When Milos escaped from slavery, his hunting abilities were severely lacking. He survived with help from Sorcha Logan, and gained valuable knowledge from her during their time together. During his time in Krokar, Milos has learned and maintained the skill of fishing and spear hunting, a method that he learned under the tutelage of Iroquois starting in November of 2014. While he isn't nearly as successful as he would like, he has come a long way from when he first started using his spear and prefers this method above all others.

Scars: Probably one of the greatest weaknesses Milos has and resulting in most of his other shortcomings. Because of his violent past, he has a number of thick and ugly scars riddling his back. The thought of others discovering his scars leaves Milos nearly crippled with anxiety and shame, thus he always covers up by wearing clothing and uses avoidance tactic if pressed for answers.
Touch: Milos has a strong aversion to touch and close physical proximity. Though he does a relative good job at concealing his emotions from outwardly surfacing, he will feel very uncomfortable, uneasy, and anxious the longer someone touches him. In order to avoid questions, he will often suffer through his feelings rather than pull away.
Water: While he isn't necessarily hydrophobic, Milos greatly dislikes being wet and thus tends to avoid water and all of its associated activities, including by not limited to fishing, swimming, and canoeing. He is working on getting better at this.
Combat: Though he's had lessons from both Iroquois and Ciara, Milos is not skilled in combat. He is a scrappy fighter and would likely only win a fight out of sheer luck rather than calculated strategy.
Illiterate: Having grown up in an environment that neither taught nor encouraged reading and writing, Milos never learned either skill. He may avoid letting on that he is unable to do either and he doesn't have much interest in learning.
Amara and Sela are two landrace goats, and long-time companions, of Milos Parhelion. Amara is noisy, curious, and quite playful. She will trust just about anyone with food, but will give them grief with her nosiness and her teasing antics. Because an old injury she sustained out in the wilds never properly healed, Ama walks with a limp and is often seen toe-touching the ground on her left rear leg. Sela has grown into an adventurous and deeply curious young doe. Though not as noisy or demanding as her mother, she rarely backs down from a challenge and is known to frequently escape her enclosure. Sela is friendly, playful, and usually one of the first goats to greet visitors.
