Raze's Adoptable Characters
Raze Adoption Hub |
Whether you're looking for an adoptable with fleshed-out plot ideas and active family, or hoping to create your own character with some connections, there's hopefully something here for everyone! :D
Current Adoptables
Beth Cormier |
Basics |
|
Summary |
Daughter of O'Brien and Willow Cormier, Beth most emulates her late mother in her exuberant and warm personality, her love of the water, and her interest in the River Goddess. Timid as a child, her personality seemed to change after the tragic accident that took her mother and sister's life. A quiet sorrow touches Beth, but she shines in spite of it to bring smiles to the others' faces. She is currently navigating her new life as a Caledonian refugee in Camp Eclipse.

Freeform Creations & Connections
Many of my old adoptables have been retired because they have lost relevancy. However, these characters may still be available for adoption on a very Relaxed basis, or serve as companion or historical NPCs for original characters -- or even ancestors of those characters! This may allow you a freeform character with some preexisting connections for development. For example, maybe you'd like to play Tletica Lykoi, have her as your character's cNPC mentor, or even play her child.
If you're interested in one of these characters, or on collaborating on a new character with a connection to them, please reach out to me. Some former adoptables were never referenced as on-board and have a lot of freedom (denoted by [⁎]), while others were former companion NPCs or played characters. Regardless, discussion will be needed to hash out details -- most of these characters haven't been around in a long while, so who knows what they've been up to! ;)
A non-exhaustive list of possibilities is as follows.

Adoptable Terms
Player Considerations |
More than anything, I appreciate players who demonstrate good communication and engagement with the site -- those who are willing to talk ideas or issues with me and strive to engage their adoptable in plots. I am, of course, more lenient with some characters than others depending on their contract. I may not adopt to players who:
|
Reclaiming an Adoptable |
I reserve the right to reclaim an adoptable if...
If you need to drop the character but intend to pick them back up, we can discuss this! Additionally, I tend not to reclaim adoptables who have extensive (1+ year, >200 posts) play.
|
Contracts
Note: Each adoptable has a specific contract that must be read and agreed to; the following overviews are examples of expectations.
Relaxed |
These adoptables are freeform and do not come with additional constraints. Generally, many aspects of the character can be fleshed out by the adopter! I will be pretty "hands-off" with these characters.
|
Moderate |
These adoptables may have some constraints, or have details that can be changed with discussion. They often have active on-board connections for plots, but without many strict expectations.
|
Strict |
These adoptables come with specific stipulations and high expectations for engagement and communication, but also are the most likely to have active connections and plot opportunities to partake in as well.
|
Pre-Adoption Changes |
For characters without IC development, such as those coming from off-board, pre-adoption changes are often acceptable with discussion. Relaxed-contract adoptables often have a lot of "blanks" to fill to make them your own! Changes may not be possible for characters who have been referenced ICly, such as adoptable cNPCs, as this would require retconning. However, some details might be interpreted or fleshed out if not contradictory to prior play -- e.g., if a character's sexuality or beliefs on a certain topic were never brought up in roleplay, you're usually free to decide this! Strict-contract adoptables likely have a more solid "vision" in mind, so pre-adoption changes are unlikely to be approved. |
Post-Adoption Developments |
While some adoptables may have specific stipulations, I am never looking to control every aspect of how you roleplay them! It's expected that you grow them as a character, engage in your own plots, and otherwise have fun with them! That said, please communicate with me about drastic developments -- e.g. amputating one of their limbs, wildly changing their worldview, random elopement, or killing them off. Major developments can occur as a natural progression of plots, of course, but I would prefer that you do not radically alter the character for no reason or do something like kill them for shock value or out of boredom. :( In cases like this, it's better for me to be able to redopt them to someone who would like to continue on with them as originally envisioned. <3 |

Process |
Private message my OOC Account with your official application. While I'm happy to discuss adoptables and answer questions over Discord, nothing is official until you PM me with the agreed-upon contract; if you express unofficial interest over Discord, I may still adopt them out to someone else! Likewise, I will send you an official acceptance via PM when I agree to adopt the character to you. A note on pickup dates -- I will only "hold" an adoptable for so long. Generally, if you cannot join with the adoptable within two months, I will reclaim the adoptable. (I will work with players on this; for example, if you are actively working toward the character and just need a couple more weeks to get post counts in order, that's fine.) The exception to this is puppies, if you want to skip the "baby stage," but this will still require communication. |
