A small family that originated in the northern regions of Canada, the bloodline centers around Posey Prior and carries on through her many daughters. The family name comes from Posey's husband Ira Prior, but for the sake of organization, all those who share Posey's' genes are included in the family tree.

Other surnames are connected to the bloodline; Imaani and Sycamore were Posey's original family names, while the surname Harper was passed onto her second litter in honor of Harriet.

1.  Family Members

For generations after the first, the parent that contributes the family genes is bolded. All litters are ordered mother x father. Litters are not necessarily grouped by chronological order, but rather categorized by the parents.

1.1  First Generation

  • Amka Imaani x Samedi Sycamore

Born in Pisew Falls, Manitoba. Amka Imaani was from an Inuit community near Hudson Bay, chasing fortune far from her birth pack. Samedi Sycamore was a slick but sweet-tempered French-speaking native, a Eastern Timber Wolf with a striking black-based agouti coat.

1.2  Second Generation

  • Posey Prior x Ira Prior
    • Asphodel Prior
    • Rosebay Prior
    • Harebell Prior

Born on the tundra in Nunavut -- an arranged marriage between eldest daughter Posey and Ira Prior, a grim-faced Hudson Bay Wolf with Christian missionary heritage. The three daughters were given the Prior surname, and named after flowers that bloomed on the prairie.

Born in Five Ponds Wilderness, New York. Posey mated with a lone wolf to produce a litter she could raise with her mate, Harriet Harper.

  • Pippa Imaani x Kaskitewâw
    • Soraya Sycamore
    • Isaure Imaani

Born on the shores of Split Lake, Manitoba. While her firstborn sister was married off, Pippa was free to choose her own love; she picked Kaskitewâw, a Cree Eastern Timber Wolf with a black pelt. Her daughters were raised tri-lingual in English, Cree, and French.

1.3  Third Generation

  • Harebell Prior x Amaulik Ikiaq (1)
    • Kenojuak Prior
    • Osuitok Ikiaq
    • Manasie Prior
  • Harebell Prior x Amaulik Ikiaq (2)

Born in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Amaulik Ikiaq was a wolfdog whose tribe subsisted on land and sea on Baffin Island's coast. Harebell easily adopted their way of life and had two litters by her mate.

While the eldest litter remained in Iqaluit, the younger adventured to eastern Canada. Toklo was a member of The Shoal and New Caledonia, while Pipaluk had a briefer tenure in Mistfell Vale. They later reunited and traveled throughout the north.

  • Rosebay Prior x Cypress Horne
    • Dandelion Horne
    • Rockcress Frost
    • Hollyhock Prior

After fleeing her homeland in the hopes of forgetting the horrors she had seen, a long journey south brought Rosebay to Mer Bleue. She joined up with a small family pack whose feral way of living aligned with her own, hiding her ability to shift from them. Advances from Cypress Horne, a coywolf, stirred up drama, but his persistence eventually won Rosebay over. The two began a family of their own after Rosebay infected Cypress with the Luperci virus.

Though their children were mostly wolves, their hybridization became a point of contention between the two brothers and would eventually lead to the pair departing to very different ends.

  • Whimsy Harper x Barnabé Desrosiers (1)
    • Chicoutai Harper
    • Papillon Desrosiers
  • Whimsy Harper x Barnabé Desrosiers (2)
    • Bright Harper
    • Dreamy Desrosiers
    • Hummingbird Harper

Ever-wandering Whimsy found love in Barnabé Desrosiers, a wolf who dispersed from his strict birth-pack of Rivière-aux-Graines. Together, they raised two litters while traveling alongside the Godbout River, until an illness took Barnabé's life.

Born in Mer Bleue, Ontario. Soraya, traveling east, settled down with a small pack in the reserve. She became mates with the golden-toned Eastern Timber Wolf Bittercress, introducing the Luperci virus to that pack. Conflict arose due to this, and the family was briefly chased out of the reserve. Thanks to the efforts of her son Maskwa, they were later able to return, and a second litter was able to enjoy a childhood in the territory. Both of her litters were named for their Cree roots.

1.4  Fourth Generation

  • Marguerite Barrows x Dandelion Horne
    • Renard
    • Hazel

The life of a loner appealed to Dandelion, who was keen to wander like his coyote ancestors and rejected the idea of settling down to raise a family. Through Marguerite Barrows, a Northeastern Coyote, he had two children. Their offspring were primarily raised by their mother, who taught them French.

  • Silverstring Longriver x Rockcress Frost
    • Goldwing
    • Dragonfly
    • Fern

After breaking away from his family, Rockcress made efforts to distance himself from his coyote heritage. The Luperci virus was already spreading through Mer Bleue at this point, but like many others, Rockcress wanted to stick to traditional ways of living. He found a similar-minded woman, a gray Eastern Timber Wolf named Silverstring Longriver.

2.  Defining Features

  • Northern wolf subspecies are common where the family expanded north into Nunavut. Individuals with arctic blood are smaller, while wolves originating from the western plains or Hudson Bay area may be larger. All have thick, weather-proof coats that tend toward pale colors like white and cream, with or without small patches of agouti grey.
  • Eastern Timber Wolf genetics were introduced in the east as well as trickle down from the first generation. These are responsible for slender builds and a large variety of coat colors, including shades of brown and black unseen in the north.
  • Dog blood might have been introduced in later generations; these are invariably sled-dog types who can survive in northern climates.
  • Natural eye colors such as shades of brown and amber seem most common, in contrast to "flashy" hues like greens, blues, or others.
