The Shoal was a family unit comprised of former members from Krokar who banded together in order to remain safe while also keeping the culture and traditions of their former pack alive.

1.  History

On October 31st, 2018, following a fire that burned through their village, ruined their supplies, and scattered their animals, Krokar officially disbanded. Many of the survivors were members, in some way or another, of the Cormier-Parhelion family unit and, while the others of the pack sought out new places to call home, these individuals banded together.

Intent on keeping the culture and traditions that they had grown up with alive, this band of loners moved away from their former village and into the Saint John's Chokehold, where they eked out a living by fishing the boarding rivers, attempting to trade with their meager yields, and keeping their various livestock alive.

A rift divided some of the Shoal following the arrival of a group of friendly loners from a faraway place once known as Old Caledonia. With big and bold ideas that many of the younger Shoalsters were drawn to, and a slew of interesting new people who they were quick to befriend, they fell in easily with the other loner band and, eventually (and with their parents' blessing), helped to found the new pack New Caledonia on August 17th, 2019.

After its founding, what remained of the Shoal departed from Saint John's Chokehold and reunited with family and friends at Old Ironsides Trade Depot in Portland.

3.  Början Emblems

Members of the Shoal were identified by their Början emblems, which are meant to symbolize their personality traits and the character of their soul. Meant as a coming-of-age ceremony for youngsters born in their former pack, the Shoal adopted this to identify themselves in their loner band.
