Tansy Courtright

Tansy Courtright (Tan-zee kOHR-t-rITE) is a member of Del Cenere Gang, currently ranked as a Las Piras. She is the daughter of Peony Braithwaite and Hosea Courtright. She has an older sister: Daphne Braithwaite and a younger sister: Camellia Courtright, effectively making her the largely overlooked middle child. She was born at the Parish as part of her parent's second litter. Technically she is the third litter, but the second one of only surviving children. Being a daughter of the Bella Dama, she was brought up with certain expectations placed upon her by her mother, even if they were not as strict as the ones her older sister had. While for a time she was fine playing along with her mother's game, she came to despise the image that her mother was constantly trying to mold her into. In what freedom she had, given that she didn't have as much attention from her parents, she came to discover her love of so many things, namely just about anything that would be considered "unlady-like." That sure didn't stop her. She was quite content to tell her mother to fuck off and do what she wanted with her life. Thriving in her new choices in life helped Tansy to drift closer to her uncle, Bennett Braithwaite. He took her under his wing, teaching her leatherworking. This was the start of seeing herself moving in the right direction. She turned her attention to other sides of life, namely what men are like. After all, they were the opposite of being a lady. Her uncle was the start, but there was far more. She had taken to cutting her hair so that it would be shorter, hanging around others. One other thing she felt herself drawn towards were the horses in Del Cenere. Currently, Tansy continues to work on carving out a life for herself, one free of any control coming from her mother. She is working on balancing having a good time being one of the guys, while also making sure she is taking time to hone her skills in her own interests. |

Though Tansy is a coy-dog, she looks nearly completely coyote thanks to her mother's side of the family. Her face and muzzle are smaller, and much more narrow. Her ears are large and rounded, the only trait to get from her dog-heavy father. Her body structure is rather lithe, typical of coyotes, though has some toned muscles from working and to change her image. Her tail is thin, having a small curl to it, though one that's not too noticeable unless you know what to look for. Her coloration is a product of her mother's side of the family, looking much more like her. Most of her body is a light tan color with a darker blaze shaped similarly to the one her mother has along the top of her muzzle and forehead. She has lighter shades of cream on her face, underside, and legs; and has varying shades of gray along her head, ears, back, legs, and tail tip. Her eyes are a shade darker purple than that of her mother's. When in optime, she grows cream locks, ones she keeps short as to fit in better with the guys. |

Although Del Cenere is a place of mixed culture when it comes to how humanized they dress themselves, Tansy prefers, quite heavily to fall on the side that barely wears anything at all, much to the disdain of her highly humanized mother. If she is wearing anything at all, it is usually bandages or some cloth over her chest. The only time she will wear something close to an "outfit" is if it is for a special occasion, but only a very special occasion. And even then, it's usually something very loose and easy to remove. Much like with clothing, Tansy doesn't see much need to decorate herself with accessories. They're so unnecessary. |

Growing up, Tansy was a curious child, even when trying to keep up to the standards that her mother was teaching her. This, along with her tendency to be speculative is the only trait that seems to have carried on her adulthood. She's grown fascinated by everything new that had opened up to her, and doesn't do much to rein in this side of herself. Her curiosity can, at many times lead to her much more brash nature to come to the surface. That being said, it is not the only time this is the case. When it comes to inserting herself in places, whether she is wanted or not, is another instance of when this nature comes to the surface. Thanks to her mother, she's developed into a rebellious person, not at all hiding this from anyone. Certainly not people she's got any sort of dislike for. Where as she was once told to be proper and lady-like, she now does everything in her power not to. She thrives in this part of herself, and is willing to do anything to insure it doesn't disappear anytime soon. Something that has developed as a result of this is her mouth, rather how much of a potty-mouth she is. There's very little shame when it comes to this. Something else to come from her rebel streak was the growth of her... sense of humor. To be more specific, a sardonic and callous sense of humor. It's always there, waiting under the surface, but doesn't usually come out on first meetings. Her defaults are to other fascist of her personality, only allowing her true humor to come up when she is around people she is actually comfortable with. This shouldn't be too much of a problem, seeing as she generally gets along well with people, unless they are certain types to rub her the wrong way. While she may favor hanging around men more than women, seeing as she sees herself as one of them, she is no stranger to mingling with both. Above all eles, Tansy has an overabundance of confidence. It takes a lot of work to knock her down in this department. Even if it comes down to a matter of bullshitting something, she's got confidence in spades.

Sexuality Tansy is lesbian, has been ever since she started exploring of life outside her mother's influence. She's discovered that she isn't attracted to any males, as she often sees herself as one of them. Women on the other hand are much more alluring and interesting, assuming they're not the stuck up kind. She's the kind of person to want to have fun while having sex, but also making sure her partner is as well. In this light, it doesn't matter much to her who is dominant or submissive. She's not one to flirt, but any partner of her's is going to have to put up with her dirty sense of humor. Tansy will be transgender, but for now still identifies as female and acts in a much more masculine manner. |

Spirituality Thanks to the upbringing of both her parents, and the gang she lives in, Tansy follows Christian beliefs, though more loosely than others around her. While she does believe in God and will pray to him if the situation calls for it, but is pretty lax when it comes to other aspects of her religion. She's got no qualms about taking the almighty lord's name in vein, and clearly doesn't follow all of its teachings to a 'T'. She hopes the 'all loving lord' will not smite her for her choices in life and send her to hell when she goes. |

Substances She doesn't indulges in substances... when she's alone. There's no fun in it otherwise. Whether it be having a few round of drinks, or taking to smoking some cannabis, she'll usually do it so long as there's someone else to do it there with her. All better if there is a special occasion going on that allows the use of such substances. |

Main Focus: Horseman, Livestock Care, Leatherworking
Taking care of animals seemed like a very good first step in breaking away from her mother's 'lady-like' expectations. Her uncle, Bennett, had been the one to introduce her to working with horses, and she took to it almost immediately. Whenever he needed help with something involving horses, she would be the first to lend him a hand. She knows the basics of their care as well as some training tricks. She's still working on checking their health and more advanced training.
Although Tansy latched on to taking care of horses, that doesn't mean she didn't like the idea of taking care of other animals as well. With a ram under her care, she's looked into learning all she care about sheep care, and looking into chickens since spending time with the ones her cousin has. She's looking to learn about the care for the other communal livestock the Gang has in their stables, if only to know how and not for when she may own one.
Much like her training with horses, her leatherworking skills were passed on to her from her uncle. Most of the items she knows how to make are items for horses. She can make bridles, leads, and is working on her skills with making saddles. Her works are not perfect, but well made enough for use and trading. She's still working on perfecting her art, and improvements she can make on her own without her uncle's help.

Auxiliary Skills and Hobbies
Learning to read and write is a common skill to have in the Gang, and especially when living under the roof of one of the leaders. She's been taught to read and write from a young age.
Cooking came as a skill out of practicality and necessity to branch off what she was learning from animals. It is also a skill that comes from living on her own, or rather with her sibling. Someone had to do the cooking, so she learned enough to make something basic for day to day eating, and to help out when needed. She'd never call herself an expert in the field.
Much like cooking, skinning and tanning came about as a necessity to learning about leatherworking. Leather just doesn't come from nowhere. If anyone needs help with cleaning, she'll offer to help, if only to watch at least, or to get the chance for some hands on work. The same goes for tanning. If anyone has spare pelts, she'll see about taking them to tan them herself for practice. If she can learn to make her own leather, then it'll be better for her main works rather than having to get leather from others, or buy them.

Bennett Braithwaite is her teacher, partner in crime, and her favorite uncle. When she is not spending time with the family that she cares about, or with the guys, he's usually the one she keeps in her company. She appreciates everything he does for her, and puts up with from her, even if she isn't always quick to admit it. He seems to always know how to brighten her mood whenever it gets soured. Probably helps that he doesn't seem to mind her rebellious nature towards her own mother, being his sister. |

Description: Loki's Laugh is a stunning horse, if a lot of work. He's a black coloration all over his entire body. He has a dark mane, the same that flows along from his tail, though is longer than most horse's. His legs are well toned and muscular. The fur along his legs is much longer at the base of his legs near his hooves. Deep and broad muscular chested and rear end.
Personality: Loki is a relatively well mannered horse, even if a little bit nippy. Despite this, he is a very hard working horse and very eager to please whomever ends up working with him. This extends not only to luperci, but other horses as well. In some contrast, Loki is a bit of a trickster, so full of energy. He could go on for hours, whether it be at work or play. The most notable thing about Loki though is he is known to have a stuttering whinny that sounds oddly like a "laugh". He is constantly letting out said "laughs".
History: Loki's Laugh was born in the wild with his brother, Thor's Hammer. The two colts had wound up in California where they were traded away, leaving them to be raised by Nazjure Aripaya in their traded pack. Loki and his brother were ridden across the country, eventually ending up in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia in 2021. It was here that both of them were captured and then surrendered over to members of the Del Cenere Gang. Loki himself, was gelded by Holland McKenzie soon after. He lived a comfortable life as a communal horse until he was put up for auction at the 2023 Lancaster Stockshow. It was here that he was purchased by Tansy Courtright, landing in her foreseeable, permanent care.

Description: Ezra is a pretty and well groomed ram. The fur along his legs and face are a deep black, bleeding a bit into his wool near his neck. The rest of his wool is white, though looks more beige from a distance. The wool itself is long with a fine texture, perfect for textile making. He sports two curled horns on the top of his head, and loves it when people scratch his head under them.
Personality: Ezra is a mild-mannered ram. He's well adjusted to being around luperci, as well as other animals. In fact, it is not uncommon of him to go seeking out attention. He doesn't make much of a fuss when he is being worked with, making him much more tolerable than some other sheep. When it comes to other sheep, he'll tend to stick close to them. He keeps a bit of distance with other animals, but not too much.
History: Ezra was born unnamed to Del Cerene Gang's communal sheep: Goddard and Nelly in early spring of 2023. He grew up with another around his age, not a care in the world. At the 2023 Lancaster Stockshow, he was placed up for auction. Tansy, seeing the use that his wool could provide (even if for the wrong purpose at first), decided to purchase him. He has since moved to her home, living along with the horses. She was also the one to dub him with the name of Ezra.

Home Away From Home
This property is on an incredibly shallow slope, but is predominantly flat, and covered with tall pines, crops of shrubs, bushes, ferns, and sparse grasses. Numerous rocks have been cleared, leaving a few pocked marks in the alpine earth, and re-purposed to a short, moss and lichen-covered boundary fence lining the path crawling to the cabin's walkway. Come springtime and early summer after the seasonal rains, lupines, wild iris, harebells, columbines and bachelor’s buttons carpet the property.
