Gethsemane Aika is the daughter of the late Judas Poer de Aika XIII and Sofia di Pasqua, born in Rome but raised primarily at sea with her brothers Abel Thirteen and Cain Aika. Her high intelligence is veiled by impulsive tendencies and a fun-loving, fearless demeanor.

Nina is currently a loner, wandering as a traveling merchant throughout Nova Scotia with her older brother Abel and their packmule.

Trades things! Gets pups into trouble with adventure! Screws up a romantic plot! Trespasses! Breaks stuff! But seriously, Gethsemane is a walking plot device. By all means hit me up if you have any ideas!

Unless clothing is mentioned in my first post, Gethsemane doesn't wear fabrics. Almost always wearing a backpack and/or messenger-type bag overstuffed with wares for trade.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics


Nina is boasts a curveless, boyish sort of build with slight volume of muscle and little height. With the exception of a dark tail, eartips, and accents ("bags") beneath her eyes, her fur is an untarnished white not quite advantageous for one with experience in stealth. She inherited her coyote mother's oceanic blue eyes, something of a throwback to her childhood spent at sea and among the masts of a ship, and she quite clearly cuts her own hair: Her black locks fall in a straight cut at her shoulders and eyes, trimmed uneven and improperly. Nina strings a few beads of bright colors throughout her hair, most prominently two beads in her bangs like her brothers to denote her as part of an extended family of sailors: one Fuel Yellow (#EDB51A), one Pumpkin Skin (#AB5C09), and a string of the same two beads along with Elm (#22888F) to the right side of her face. She boasts a pierced navel, tongue, and a few tattoos (TBD).

Gethsemane is an extrovert: chipper, upbeat, and perpetually positive in her exchanges. Though a good person at heart, Nina is intelligent but crafty and tends to work on impulse over intuition. She genuinely loves to meet and learn about new people, but her low self-control gets her into trouble. She tends to be grabby and to fixate on something she wants, be it item or individual, and could be considered a kleptomaniac. She suffers heavy guilt as result of her thievery. She loves to play the hero whether as a rescuer or as a thief, but her impulsive tendencies have ruined missions more than once. She will try most anything once, but very rarely considers consequences.

A smart talker and quick thinker, the witty Gethsemane boasts a fun and contagious aura. After the first dull year of her life spent mainly at sea, Gethsemane does not care for serious debate or discussion and shirks responsibilities to prioritize fun and freedom. She is something of an acrobat thanks to her experience tending sails and is daunted by very little in life, finding fear a bore and a restriction.

Raised with Roman Catholic roots; did not stick to them. Extremely intrigued by ghost stories and the supernatural and liable to go chasing after them. Nontraditional spirituality like voodoo and wicca are enthralling, though she commits to nothing.

Fun always comes first, and sex is fun. Nina is more or less open to anything, multiple partners, etc. and is always excited to try something new. She is flirtatious and highly sexual, though averse to the tethering of pregnancy.


Like most everything else in her life, Nina is adventurous and afraid of nothing. She has tried a variety of substances, though ducked free of addicting stuffs outside tobacco, and one way or another enjoyed all of it. When she drinks, she drinks, and when she trips, she trips.

  • Education and Learning: Nina is a chatty, social individual with deftness in conversation. Although a little loopy in behavior, she is more following of conversation than she lets on. She is often distracted in dialogue, however, when she spies something she wants.
  • Gethsemane is no master thief, but her thievery skills are not to be underestimated. Equal parts a kleptomaniac and a Gentleman Thief, she typically targets well-off individuals or those who have personally wronged her but is apt to swipe items from anyone depending on impulse. Stealing is performed sometimes as a subtle sleight of hand, sometimes a grab-and-go, or sometimes even a purposeful swindling.
  • Stealth and infiltration is difficult thanks to her white pelt, but with enough black garb and a knowledge of scent-masking, Nina is fairly skilled. Her impulsiveness, however, often gets her into trouble.


  • Education and Learning: Gethsemane has no formal combat training and does not know how to wield any weapons for full-frontal combat.
  • One does not simply master the art of improvisation in combat, but Nina performs well considerably. Thrown dirt, whipped branches, shattered bottles, tree-scaling, calculated escapes where her opponent cannot follow—Nina is a dirty fighter, if one wants to call that "fighting." She sees no shame in running away as improvisation has failed her before.
  • Gethsemane keeps a dagger on her person at all times, mostly for everyday utility. She can't very well attack with it, but she can pretend she knows how.
  • Nimble, flexible and small, Gethsemane is extremely dexterous and can dodge well. Her acrobatic background as a mast-tender on a merchant ship contributes to her dexterity. She falls on the petite side, however, and when she is hit, her dodging abilities are expectedly crippled.


  • Education and Learning: Most of Gethsemane's abilities are self-taught and thus lacking in full proficiency.
  • Gethsemane tended the masts to the merchant ship she grew up on, and doubled with her small and nimble frame is a flexible acrobat with high spacial awareness (and, ironically, little personal space). She is not afraid of high places, and naturally sees paths while traveling at high speeds akin to that of free-runners though she possesses not the physical strength to free-run effectively.
  • Gethsemane knows a lot of mundane, easily learned talents one might toddle with when stuck at sea for weeks on end. She can read and write and knows basic sewing and jewelry making.
  • Given her upbringing on a ship, Gethsemane is well learned with fishing and sailing.

Gethsemane settles nowhere, preferring to keep in constant motion and set up camp nightly. Thanks to her weight and deftness, sleeping in trees is not at all unheard of.

5.2  Trade

Gethsemane is a traveling trader with exchange standards as questionable as the origins of her items. She boasts mostly smaller items for trade that were scavenged, traded, or more commonly, stolen from someone she decided not in need (her more valuable possessions to trade, of course). Many of her items are damaged or dirty but in salvageable condition with a little love. Her bag of goods, as well as the saddlebags of her mount, are literally overpacked with tiny items to trade.

6.  History

6.1  Overview

Loners (TBD)

Gethsemane and her brothers were conceived under bizarre circumstances. Their father, Judas, accompanied a ship of Italian merchant sailors across Europe throughout the previous year, traveling with them between places like France, Greece, and Germany after they took him in out of pity on their trip home from the shores of Maine. Having sworn a pact to his brothers to return to Nova Scotia around summer of 2013, Judas found the ship would not be returning to relevant shores in time to fulfill his promise, and took action to ensure he would return on time. Crafty and manipulative, Judas swayed the ship's captain in favor of western shores by charming his daughter, Sofia, an italian young woman that lived at sea like her father and Judas. Of similar age to the Aika, Sofia had grown and traveled with him over his year abroad and harbored deep affections easily stirred when the Aika very suddenly chose to reciprocate them. Their relationship was fast but hidden, the woman wholly devoted to a man who only pretended to be the same. Despite his indifference and asexuality, Judas took every measure necessary to influence Sofia to speak to the ship's captain on his behalf, and in time her father complied. They performed an extra exchange along their cross-continental trade route, where Judas swore a false but eternal devotion and a promise of reunion to Sofia before departing their company for Nova Scotia in time for the pact's fulfillment in mid-2013.

Naturally the Aika did not return, though Sofia never lost hope. Young but finding herself to be pregnant as result of their disingenuous tryst, she gave birth to Abel, Gethsemane, and Cain in May of 2013 while nearing port at Rome, and gifted them biblical names in honor of her spirituality and surnames out of misguided devotion to their father. The ship's devout captain (and several members of the crew) frowned upon the now-realized relationship, but raised the children as if one large family. The three were taught Italian before English, and raised happily, both at sea and in the di Pasqua family cottage on Italian mainland.

In 2014 their mother encouraged the three siblings to travel Nova Scotia to find their father and return to her as a family, not knowing it a lost cause. With little fortune within a few months the triplets returned to sea until mid-2016, when Gethsemane and her brother Abel returned to Nova Scotia to take up the trading business again. Cain, meanwhile, remained behind on the ship with his mother and crew.
