• Species: Kjell is a pretty even mix of wolf and dog in appearance, especially in the ears unlike his father. Overall looks more lupine than doggish. However, his general thickness and bulk shows more of his dog heritage than anything else.

2.1  Summary

Unusually inquisitive for someone from his family, Kjell's mind found paths that divert from most of the Rask clan. Subterfuge and clandestine interests catch his attention first and foremost, appearing much more sly and cunning than his honest father. Though he doesn't have particularly malevolent intentions, Kjell certainly doesn't make his plans well known and often dodges questions. His sly and suave personality he puts on with others is more a less a front for the most part, but there are parts of him that are true to that mask. The strict hierarchy of Salsola felt suffocating to him even as a young child, and he yearned to stretch his wings and fly beyond the shackles of the mafia society.

Most of all, Kjell likes knowing things and doing whatever he would like with those things. Whether it's to advance himself with knowledge of a craft or tear someone else down with blackmail, he likes having control over these things. Knowing that he likes this, he figured that at least one other person was just like him and so closes himself off to others outside of a constructed identity used as a mask to protect his own information. One of Kjell's biggest mottos is Fight Smart, not Fair.

• Personal Freedom: Kjell feels like his father tried too hard to make him into a clone of himself and rejects a majority of the things imparted on him. A rebel at heart, he likes to be able to forge his own path and do whatever the hell he wants. This is more of a teenage rebellion thing than a general outlook, but he is still young and immature at his age.
• Control through Knowledge: Despite being big, Kjell values a chess player's perspective on things than brute forcing his way through life. He's a careful planner who wants to see his options before taking a decisive strike.

• Predetermined Destiny: Never wanting to be forced into anything, Kjell values his own personal story more than anything else. He doesn't want to be a clone of someone else, he wants to be himself and only himself. Any sort of "premonition" or "divining" is taken with extreme scrutiny and disbelief.
• Stuck in One Place: An emerging butterfly, Kjell wants to see anything and everything in his inquisitive youth and feels stressed when he's tied down. This was his main reason for wanting to leave the safety of the Outpost for Salsola proper.

• Nonexistant, Kjell spits in the face of gods and takes his own destiny by the reins. He refuses to believe in any sort of predestined path and is insistent that he can forge his own.

Biases

• Size: Given that he comes from a 'large' family, seeing others that are smaller than average (especially males) is a little jarring, especially if he compares them to his father. Height itself isn't so much a factor as pure bulk.
• Faith: Kjell turns away from religion for the most part, even shunning it at times.

2.4  Family: Rask, Silevue

Key Family Relationships

• Urho Rask: Despite their similarities, Urho and Kjell are relatively distant. As his oldest son, Urho expected some things from Kjell, but not much. However, Kjell proved to be unruly, distant, and resistant to most everything he was taught. Even if they are physically close to each other in location, they couldn't be more emotionally distant as family members, especially as father and son. Urho of course, lets him do as he will, even if he is disappointed in his oldest to some extent. However, when Kjell wanted to transfer to Salsola proper, Urho willingly switched places with him, letting him use the homestead he'd built there as a place to stay.
• Symre Rask: Kjell is quite close to his younger sister (though not as close as her and her twin are) and hung around the twins more often than he did with their father. They have a lot of things in common and share their talents to help each other out. Though they are both still young, they're starting to step into their own roles and specializations and try to improve alongside each other.

• Hyacinth Silevue: Of his two parents, Kjell is much closer to his mother than to his father. He feels as if she doesn't pressure him to be anything he doesn't want to be, but doesn't listen to her when she insists that his father wants the same. Still, he would do most things for her within reason, and does try to impress her sometimes.
• Seppo Rask: His only other brother, Seppo and Kjell were known to roughhouse with each other at times, but Seppo took much more after their father than Kjell did, both in size and personality. Kjell only willingly hung around Seppo when with their sister Symre, but not any more outside of then. He sees his brother more like a clone of their father.

• Taika Rask: His youngest sister, Kjell sees him and Taika as outliers in terms of their appearance since the twins both look much more like their parents. Taika is much more cheery than Kjell, even as they've grown older, but he still spends time with her between his other sister and their mother.
• Brocade Valentine: His uncle who Kjell saw quite often when he visited. However, he yearned to go back to Salsola proper with him at times. When given the chance, Kjell happily agreed, wanting to stretch his wings and fly further from the nest to pursue his interests.
