Though born in the Virgin Islands, much of Rahab’s youth was spent aboard ships due to her mother's insistence that the family relocate; this was due largely in part to a small blood feud that broke out between the Savoy family and the Bourgeois family — a larger but less wealthy group originating on the island — as a result of Constantine's philandering. They eventually settled on a small island in the Antilles and were subsequently free to roam much of the area.
Quite close to both of her mothers and her uncle, she nonetheless didn’t spend as much time with Mara as she would have liked, as the woman was busy reestablishing her trade connections and starting a ferry system to connect the Antilles islands.
Following the departure of her elder siblings for Nova Scotia, Ray and her sisters decided it was time that they, too, should strike out on their own. Wanting to see a bit of the world before committing to anything concrete, the girls enlisted their 'uncle', Constantine, to their cause, and with his assistance they set sail during their first summer, bound for Pointe-Noire.
Rather unfortunately, the three sisters were forced to deviate from their original plan due to sandstorms in the Sahara desert. Currently they are in Cairo.
Significance: Rahab is is used in the Hebrew Bible to indicate rage, fierceness, insolence, and pride. The name is also emblematic name of Egypt and is also spoken of with regards to the sea. In medieval Jewish folklore, Rahab is a mythical sea monster.

1. Appearance
1.1 Basics
Essentials
Species: An even split between species (coyote, wolf, and dog), one would be hard pressed to determine what, exactly, Rahab is. Her face features sharper lines courtesy of her coyote heritage, and her legs are slightly long, pointing to a dilution of dog blood.
Fur: Short-to-medium in length, her ruff is thicker than that of a dog or coyote’s; double-coated. Ray keeps herself as clean as possible.
Optime Hair: Shoulder length but thick. Rahab sometimes wears it pulled back from her face, but typically only during instances where she expects violence.
Facial Features: Sharp like a coyote, fierce; mobile facial expressions.
Build and Size: Sports a typical swimmers build in all forms — notably, she is slightly thicker through the shoulders than anywhere else, but lean almost everywhere else.
Humanization: Moderate; will wear clothing and jewelry but is comfortable without it. During her travels she became accustomed to sleeping outdoors, though this is often done in her Optime form. Accustomed to using tools and weapons.
Lupus: 40 lbs(18.1 kg) ↔ 25 in(63 cm)
Secui: 140 lbs(63.5 kg) ↔ 39 in(99 cm)
Optime: 180 lbs(81.6 kg) ↔ 5ft 10in (70 in)(177cm)
General Posture and Body Language: Engaging and prone to intentionally causing conflict, Rahab is relaxed to the point of laziness in private (lounges around, flippant with gestures) but a dedicated and ever-vigilant combatant.
Rahab is an exuberant woman, and applies her boundless passion to every aspect of her life; spontaneous and a little reckless, she is driven by curiosity and is often humorous and contemptuous in the same breath. Intrepid and daring, she is nonetheless very accepting of others’ perceived flaws, and therefore quite easy to get along with in most situations. Occasionally unreliable, Ray will not necessarily break a promise, but lives to defy others’ expectations of her.
Of the three girls, Rahab is almost always the one willing to instigate mayhem on a moment's notice; the more brazen or outlandish something sounds or seems, the more she'll like the sound of it.
Possesses an abundance of lazy, roguish charm, which she employs at will whenever she feels it will benefit her.
Her family, particularly the well-being of her sisters, Sumaria and Persis; this is not limited to nuclear or biological relations, as she often considers very close friends to be like siblings and may refer to them as such.
Adoration
Hedonism
Conflict
Fears
Slavery: Having encountered slaves (both freeborn and born) in multiple port cities across the world, Rahab has witnessed some the cruelties inflicted upon those whose lives no longer belong to them. To have known freedom to such an extent as she has, and to then have it stripped away would be, to her mind, an ironically sadistic end.
Blindness: An avid but secretive reader and a fighter, Rahab would hate (and often thinks about) losing her sight.
Sexual Assault: Though fairly self-explanatory, Ray despises rapists and child abusers; this is exacerbated by her free will and tendency to sleep around. The thought of being forced to the act makes her stomach twist into knots.
Interests
Likes: Arguing, combat, flirting, horses, reading, social situations.
Non-Luperci: Though she would never belittle or try to forcibly change a non-luperci, Rahab nonetheless pities them and views them as primitive and unsophisticated.
Packs:
Believes that many if not all coyotes are like those of Inferni; even her own mother(s) could not entirely discount this.
Though she heard mostly good things about Cour des Miracles, the web of intrigue there dissuades her from joining them.
Sexuality
Equally heterosexual and homosexual, with no notable preference; as opposed to singling someone out based on their appearance (ie. a masculine man or a feminine woman), Rahab is drawn to personalities, whether they be broodingly intense or wildly carefree. Driven by hedonism more than anything else.
Though a self-proclaimed flirt, much of her so-called promiscuous behavior is driven by her enormous sexual appetite; she values monogamy and secretly craves it but is afraid of long-term commitment.
Despite presenting herself as an air-headed, promiscuous flirt – which is oftentimes a way to amuse herself or escape boredom – one would be wise to consider that what Rahab says does not necessarily reflect what she does; spurred, perhaps, by her mother’s stories and her elder sister’s wild beauty, she is intent on building a reputation for herself, regardless of the form the narrative takes.
Substances
Drinks sparingly, but isn't choosy — beer and wine are looked on with the same amount of favor.
Frequent smoker of cannabis and enjoys it more than anything else she's ever tried.
Will likely experiment with psilocybin mushrooms; some previous recreational use of opium, but found it made her feel slow.
Spiritually
Monotheistic belief in the Abrahamic God.
Believes that even with atonement one may not find redemption or, depending on the sin, forgiveness.
Religious when it suits her.
Interested in Islam and has a copy of the Quran, which she reads leisurely.
Exposed to mudras in Cairo, often considered a spiritual or divine form of yoga using hand positions; each finger represents the energy of a planet, a determinate quality, and emotions. The thumbs represents the ego. Rahab utilizes these as a step toward self-awareness and as a calming mechanism.
Respectful of other religions and utterly fascinated by them.

Though they were initially unsure of one another – Tiamat found Rahab to be flippant, and Rahab considered Tiamat both frosty and unbending – what was once a cautious war-time alliance has, over time, become a tried-and-true friendship. During time spent in Cairo they discovered there is virtually no one else they would rather have beside them in a fight, and later in Onuba, Rahab proved herself more than capable many times over, even coming to Tiamat's rescue despite the fact that common sense encouraged her to go against her conscience. Later, while aboard her mother's ship, Rahab came to consider her as a sister rather than a boon companion during their sea travel afterward. Tiamat's still intractable, of course, but they've (more or less) learned to deal with one another's flaws.
In the beginning it was very clear that Ray’s intentions were more or less romantic; since then, however, she had come to the conclusion that Tia is more or less heterosexual, and doesn’t hold this against her... they're mature, emotionally-stable adults, after all.

3. Skills and Inventory
3.1 Abilities
Animal Care
Education and Learning: Agrippa brought her akhal teke stallion with her to the island, and while abroad Rahab was introduced to a number of other hot blooded breeds. She is very comfortable atop a horse.
On the day she first shifted – and every day since – Rahab has ridden a horse. Many of them are too large for her small stature, and she tends to prefer sturdy ponies or small warmbloods to large drafts, but she is extremely comfortable riding a mount of any size.
In Point-Noire she even rode a camel, and found their swaying gait comical.
Can ride equally well with or without a saddle.
Though certainly not her specialty, Rahab is a capable horse trainer. She requires specialists to complete a horse's training, but is particularly adept at seeing an animal's potential. This likely stems from her knowledge as a trader.
Animals such as sheep, pigs, and other farm animals are of great interest to her, but she has yet to learn much about them.
Combat
Education and Learning: Both of her mothers, Agrippa de le Poer and Mara Savoy are accomplished fighters; one with a bow, the other with her fists. All three of the girls — Sumaria, Persis, and Rahab — were taught to defend themselves adequately.
Ray's weapon of choice is a bo staff, a weapon which helps augment her diminutive size with its impressive reach. Due to her additional skill as an acrobat, she can vault over enemies. She considers staffs, staves, and spears to be some of the most useful weapons.
Though she is less skilled in this, Rahab knows a little capoeira and a bit more about wrestling; she finds this difficult, however, due to her size and will only use it as a last resort (if her staff breaks and she cannot run away, for example).
General acrobatics were a skill that came naturally to her, for she's extremely flexible — while traveling she learned to apply this, and understands the rudiments of parkour.
In large-scale combat, Rahab trades her staff in for a spear and shield, as the combination allows her to better defend a position and ward off some long-distance combatants, such as archers.
Trade
Education and Learning: The entirety of the Savoy family hinges on trade, and she learned the finer points of this from her grandmother Jacqueline Savoy.

Education and Learning: General but noteworthy skills that bear mentioning.
Rahab is a particularly strong swimmer and free diver.

4. History
2017 History
May — August
Having converted their uncle, Constantine, to their cause, the three girls — Rahab, Sumaria, and Persis — set out from the Windward Isle for Pointe-Noire. A number of factors lead them to Abidjan, instead, which actually brings them closer to their destination of Algiers in northern Africa.
Much of this time is spent traveling via ship and horseback, with a few unremarkable hostile encounters along the way (mostly jackals looking to see if they can steal from the three youngsters). This encourages Rahab to practice using her staff on a daily basis.
In August they encounter brutal sandstorms are currently ravaging the Sahara desert and, forced to make a decision, they instead decide to travel further east and end up in Cairo.
September
Unsure what to do next and unwilling to admit that she has only a vague idea of where in the world they are relative to other places, Ray spends much of her time wandering through markets and other social hubs. Her Hebrew and Arabic improve greatly during this time, and assist in trade efforts for small goods.
Through rumor and superstition, she learns of a woman referred to as majnun wahid (or, crazy one), and after surreptitiously observing the woman attempting to enlist soldiers, engineers an encounter between them. Their negotiation is brief; in exchange for their help, Tiamat will give them everything that might be considered spoils of war.
When Arena spies attack, Tiamat and Rahab dispatch them; Ray begins to doubt that the woman is crazy, and is informed that they must leave straight away for Bedaya.
October
Finding themselves overwhelmed by the number of Arena traders, it is only with the help of freed slaves that they are able to persevere. When it becomes obvious that this will not be a one-time thing but rather a campaign through the desert, Rahab is able to convince her sisters that their cause is just. Though she initially joined Tiamat’s cause for profit, Rahab begins to see it as a righteous path; she likens it to Moses’ liberation of the Israelites. At some point it is no longer Tiamat’s army alone, but Rahab’s as well.
Belatedly, Rahab realizes that she and her sisters must have turned a year old at some point during their travels; she is quick to seize upon this and embarks on a romance with one of the freed slaves, a woman named Samira.
The Bedouins, Tiamat, and Rahab come up with a plan meant to lure the remaining Arena traders to one location where they can eliminate them once and for all.
November
When their ambush tactics eventually give way to an all out melee, Rahab realizes that even if they win, the casualties on both sides will be catastrophic. This changes slightly with the arrival of Tiamat’s brother, Lotan; it is only in the aftermath of their landslide victory that Ray realizes that Samira — despite still being alive — has been mortally wounded.
When Tiamat suggests they visit Onuba to help a childhood mentor and friend of hers, Rahab reluctantly agrees. Immediately upon arriving, Ray instinctually realizes that something is very wrong. Though her skills as a spy are minimal, she employs some of her mother’s tactics, and comes to the conclusion that this is at least partially a trap. When she expresses this to Tia, her advice is ignored.
Angered by this, she storms off; as a result, she is one of the only members of their fellowship that is not taken into custody by Thalia Amaranthe. It is during her deliberations over what to do that Tia’s pending marriage is announced… and seeing this for the sham that it is, she begins to formulate a plan of her own.
civil blood makes civil hands unclean Onuba, with Lotan. Rahab discovers that Lotan has been ejected from the Amaranthe estate; they conspire — with the help of information passed along from Tiamat — to aid in the downfall of the Arena's once and for all.

May
After an unproductive couple of months and her friend’s injury, Rahab visits Portland to fetch her horse, Divya, so that she can trade him. An argument with Griffin when she accosts him and hits him with her staff over some comments he made to and about Tiamat. They spend much of the month loathing each other, and this doesn’t change when they kiss toward the end of May.
Having temporarily split off from the group, Ray wanders the North sulking. After a week or so of looking for prospective merchants, Rahab successfully trades one of her horses to a member of Mistfell Vale.
