Cherry is a jack-of-all-trades defined more by her ferocity than her role, of which she has filled several in her tumultuous lifetime.

Physical

With a pelt as vibrant as her namesake and an unusually rare heritage, Cherry has a striking appearance.
Her fur is a rusty red agouti coloration, darker on the ears, shoulders, hips, and tail-tip. Her underside is creamy-white, which also streaks her saddle and flashes at the base of her tail. Though she takes her coloring from the Ethiopian Wolf, most of her markings are more muddled than that species' almost uniform patches. Her eyes are a subtle grey-green.
Cherry has a light, rangy build with long limbs and lithe musculature. She has a notably narrow, long muzzle and pointed, broad ears. Small compared to grey wolves, she stands at about five foot nine in Optime. In this form, her mane swoops up in a fauxhawk crest spiked with beeswax.
She dresses practically, with drab colors that do not overshadow her red coat, and favors garmets that don't get in the way of movement. She has a liking for bronze or gold jewelry, adorning herself with big earrings, bangles, and belt accessories.

2. Personality
|
Summarized: Fierce, tenacious, sociable, adaptable, manipulative, pragmatic
|
Fast-moving and fast-talking, Cherry is a forward and forceful woman who strives to get what she wants out of life. She thinks quickly on her feet, adapting to whatever scenario she might find herself in, whether by outwitting opponents or brute-forcing things to go her way. Confident and outgoing, she can be charming and enticing much the way a fire is -- more conflagration than hearth, bold and bright and dangerous, rather than promising warm comfort. Having clawed her way up from servitude, she chases all that life has to offer and will fight to maintain in complete control of it.
A keen observer of people, their motivations and weaknesses, Cherry has no qualms with manipulating others, even just by steering them in her preferred direction. She has no true desire to hurt people and enjoys the fun company of others, but her blunt and pragmatic nature can offend even those she considers friends. As such, she prefers those who can keep a level head; she does not even trust her own gut instincts, sometimes. While coolheaded in most situations, some situations can get under her skin; when she acts out violently, she can be exceptionally cruel.
- Biased: Distrusts men, especially flashy ones. Hates those of a "noble" or "wealthy" status.
- Sexuality: Heterosexual, but doesn't mind sleeping with any gender. Uses her sexuality as a tool, and wants to be in control of encounters. Unlikely to trust anyone enough for a romantic relationship.
- Substances: Tobacco is her main vice, but she likes smoking in general. Alcohol makes her nauseated.
- Spirituality: The gods help no one and aren't worth praying to. Sees deities (specifically the Greek pantheon) as a way to explain phenomena and the origin of things, but little else.

3. Skills
|
Note: Listed skills are those that the character has some significant talent or interest in to be noteworthy.
|
- Combat (Knives, Improvised Weapons, Tooth & Claw)
Though she prefers an easily-concealed dagger to other weapons, Cherry expects the unexpected in a fight and can make use of just about anything lying around. She will do anything to turn the tides of battle to her advantage, often flinging things for a "break" or smashing others upside the head with blunt objects. When all else fails, she relies on her own fangs and claws and fights like a wildcat.
- Social (Insight, Manipulation)
Having met all sorts and learned to keep an ear out for any information of use, Cherry tends to have a good read on others. She prefers to persuade rather than manipulate (it's all semantics), convincing others that they know what's best for them, with that best happening to align with her own ideals.
- Mercantile (Trade, Appraisal)
As a former smuggler in contact with many merchants and fences, Cherry can often surmise the value of commonplace items -- and either talk those items up or disparage them to get a good deal.
Over her life, Cherry has gained experience in various skills, from basic clothes mending and sex work to ship duties and a novice's understanding of herbs.

4. History
She was born in Ethiopia to a wildling woman forcibly separated from her isolated pack during a rendezvous with a more worldly male. Ignorant about the rules of the outside world and heavily dependent on strangers' good-will, the woman was easily tricked and trafficked, her child stolen from her clutches. The girl traded hands multiple times on her unwilling journey to north Africa, ending up on a boat that took her from Tripoli to Athens, where she came of age and became a slave prized for her "exotic" looks.
Brought up in the service of a noble, Cherry served as a handmaiden, but strove to learn other skills from fellow servants and sympathetic members of the household. After being accosted in a marketplace, she was permitted to learn self-defense (less for her own wellbeing, more so she didn't become "stolen property"); this skill would ironically serve as the key to her eventual freedom. Her fighting ability allowed her to come to the defense of one of the noble's daughters, which granted her more freedom as she came to act as a bodyguard (though she was still expected to be a subservient bedwarmer at home).
Her outings put her into contact with a roguish Barcelonian ship captain, who was taken with Cherry immediately. Their secret dalliances were conspiratorial in addition to romantic, as they plotted ways for Cherry to escape the service of the nobility and flee with him. Cherry succeeded in this (evading capture not without bloodshed), boarding the ship as they fled Athens.
Cherry served contentedly at the captain's side for a time, joining his business as a smuggler of stolen goods and building a good rapport with much of the crew despite her previous status. However, in boasts about his departure from Athens to his contacts, the captain referred to Cherry herself as one of his most precious "stolen goods," and she realized that he might have seen her as a mere possession the entire time. Confronting him, Cherry got to the heart of the matter with a knife.
Winning over some of the crew, Cherry sailed with these companions for a few years, continuing the smuggling business as normal and dabbling in piracy, too. With various crimes chasing her, she made the risky decision to cross the Atlantic. Acclimating herself to a new continent was a challenge, but Cherry had never turned one down before.
