1. Synopsis
Whereas his traveling companion grew up hardened and quieted by the frigid North, Clyde is a rambunctious man, grown entirely in the sun and coast of California. The Redwoods were his heart and home where he had gotten his start - yet, driven by unchecked ambitions and bad habits, a bold, young, and foolish Clyde set out with his brother to cut their teeth with some of the not-so-local trading bands. One too many poor dealings split the boys up, and, fearing the retribution his father would have for him back home, Clyde stole the family mule and fled north until the animal finally gave out. Armed with precious little but his wits and the barest survival instinct to get by, he held out, until Flintlock came across him. His luck has turned around ever since - even if he considers this boon a life debt.
Late in the spring in 2022, Clyde and Flintlock came upon Del Cenere, and immediately got to work settling in and building up homes for the recently displaced Ashen.
2. Appearance

A stereotypical coyote build, though robust in mild ways. He may not be large, or overtly muscular throughout his body, though his biceps and chest are. He lacks a lot of definition in his build, and falls within the realm of decidedly average, relying more often than not on the boyish charm of his smolder and bright eyes to carry his appearance. The deep, gold-brown of his coat is offset by tawny highlights breaking up the agouti, and sharp, striking creams that interrupt his dark saddle. His hands are worn and calloused from work.

3. Personality

Clyde talks fast, lives recklessly, and persistently teases fate. He learned quick, and early, that flirting most often got him what he desired, whether or not he meant it, and thus, Clyde adapted to recognize lonely or otherwise insecure women, and latch himself onto them in order to get shielded or babied in acting almost helpless when trouble came up for him. While these relationships and flings never last, he never seeks them for permanence - he is more concerned with self preservation and killing his own loneliness than actually sticking to any singular thing for overly long. It makes working with him arduous. With his fickle attention span and reluctance to pursue anything he's not immediately good at, Clyde most often ends up having to cave to external pressures whenever it comes to completing any task at hand. Flintlock has helped him immensely with this, however, he still has his moments, and he's prone to falling quickly into impropriety. Despite his mannerisms of a selfish git who makes passable attempts to be witty, he does get immense satisfaction from helping out others on the off chance that he does. |
