Synopsis

Born within an isolated and insular community, Hollyhock (hahll-EE-hokk) and siblings Hyssop? and Cranesbill? were not so lucky to enjoy the days of untouched interference from an outside world. Whilst the community had strived to remain isolated, and preserve the way of life and stick to their non-Luperci roots, it was the unwitting actions of her aunt which had opened up the floodgates of misfortune. Their untouched lives had been tainted, opened up to the unknown - Before they knew it, there were no non-luperci left among them; and, in exchange for the life of a mother, Hollyhock was born amongst the brambles with her siblings. It was their existence which heralded the end. No sooner than weaned off their milk-mother, the familial band, ravaged by the death of a way of life, splintered and scattered to the wind. It was by the grace of her uncle that ensured the litter's continued survival.

The infiltration of the secluded family had been a raucous, seismic event. Predating the birth of Hollyhock and her siblings, the casting-out of Fallow for her transgressions had set in motion a series of misfortunes - the likes of which trailed the already highly nomadic band in their paranoid escape of an increasingly (perceived) hostile outside world. While the expulsion had been a quick fix to stem the proverbial bleed, it could not undo what they had already known: This life that they had lived was a rarity, and one which could not, and would not last.

The further they pushed from their original territories, the more the band came into contact with the frightening outside world, and the Luperci which dominated it. The infection of the Luperci virus was an inescapable tide, onset by the ghost of Fallow's mistake: The Luperci, which had come to hide amongst them only to be cast out with the fool who'd vouched for him, returned as all diseased were so wont to, this time in anger.

In time, the injured were changed, or perished from wounds. In time, came the squalling of whelps: the first of the band born with the illness in their blood. Hollyhock, Cranesbill, and Hyssop could have been counted lucky - while their mother had not survived, their uncle, Staghorn was unwilling to let this litter falter and perish as their cousins had in the name of faltering purity. Wetnursed by an aunt, their presence was only tolerated. By the time they had weaned, Staghorn had taken the trio under his care, and departed the quickly collapsing community.

1.  Characteristics

1.1  Appearance

General Physical Appearance

Somewhat leggy and gawky - she's thoroughly wolf, however, and will doubtlessly fill out with age. Her ears are small and refined, and her muzzle is somewhat long, though it lends to the expressiveness of her large, round, and starkly dandelion yellow eyes. It is expected, however, that she will remain somewhat long-legged and athletic, if slightly smaller than average than most other wolves due to her species make-up.

Her coat is a pallid agouti - warm silver and birch - and when shifted she has a naturalistic and pale mane which spills down past her shoulders. While not particularly humanized, and more prone to utilizing her four-legged forms, wooden and bone beads, or scavenged bird feathers make for baubles of interest for her - the likes of which she inflicts on her endlessly patient uncle as well as herself.

Hollyhock most frequently uses her lupus form above all others, and is frequently gritty from dust baths or rolling through brambles and shrubbery.
