Notes: The parent that contributes the Trombetta genes is bolded. Strikethrough indicates that a character is dead. Italics are adopted characters. Disowned Characters have three asterisks next to their names, but may be listed because they are technically part of the family, or hold family blood.
Family Members
Please note that in this family, names are recorded in the Eastern tradition - the surname is written first. (For example, Orochi Sakura instead of Sakura Orochi.) This is not observed with foreigners linked by mateship; only blood members of the clan.

Defining Features
Tail
- The bulk of the Orochi family descended from Akita Inu, and as such, a curled spitz tail is a dominant trait even in those crossed with wolves.
- Due to a notable influx of Australian Shepherd genetics, the second generation are carriers of a recessive tailless gene.
Fur
- The surviving first generation, siblings Kyoko and Kenji, sport darker fur with Akita dog patterns such as brindle. White or cream markings are restricted to facial masks and extremities.
- The second generation has more variation. Due to a notable influx of Australian Shepherd genetics in Riku, Sora, and Sakura, new patterns such as merle, dilution, and Irish white spotting emerge.
Eyes
The eyes of the Orochi clan were once their most recognizable feature. The majority had the same soulless shade of dark violet-brown throughout many generations, with a minority inheriting vivid red eyes with only hints of purple. With the old clan extinct and precious few survivors trying to revive it, outside influences make it less of a certainty.
- Central heterochromia (center of one iris is a different color from its remainder) has long existed in the Orochi bloodline as a recessive trait; seen in Kyoko.
- Complete heterochromia (one iris is a different color from the other) was introduced in the second generation via Australian Shepherd influence; seen in Sora and Riku.

History
The Formation of Shifuku Dikei
This all starts with the Izumi(fish) ninja clan. They are arguably the clan that has been in the area the longest. These men and women were nasty to deal with, incredibly intelligent and over all scam-artists, thieves, and murderers. They also valued progeny and expansion of their land, which always made them push on the edge of whatever groups also developed in the area. The Izumi clan ended up splitting their families several times to conquer more land and to satisfy the power-hungry children of the main pack's leader. Several months go by and slowly but surely the two of the three growing clans were heading downhill. The Ichizuma(fish) head of section of the Izumi clan ends up getting assassinated by one of the Orochi(snake) ninja clan, and they end up recruiting their warriors into the Orochi clan. This Orochi family member also makes sure to kill all Ichizuma children. The Orochis are careful to not mix blood with the any of the Izumi clan for some time but the warriors they end up recruiting end up being rebels and also wanting to take down the Izumi clan. With the Ichizuma's the first to be assassinated, Itzumi(fish) and Izumi were the only two left. Before Orochi and their newly acquired warriors could target the smaller Itzumi section, the Orochis find out that Itzumi and Izumi clans have re-merged into one big family once again.
It was around this time that the Mushi(insect) and Washi(eagle) families start to really sprout up. The two families lived to the south of the Orochi and Izumi clans and for awhile there had been little qualms between the two samurai clans. The desperate Izumi clan did not like that there was peace to the south of them, and also needed to try out some of their poisons on something, so they purposefully contaminate the Washi clan's main water source and end up eradicating the whole Washi clan. There are no survivors of the Washi(eagle) clan, and as collateral for taking out the clan, the Izumi clan takes control of their lands, and their trained scout and messenger eagles that the samurai were known for. The Izumi clan plan to use this same poison on the Orochi clan, but Orochi are tipped off (because of a shot down messenger eagle) and take precautions with their food and water. The Mushi(insect) clan catches wind of the eradication of the Washi clan and luck would have it that foreign family De Gama also show up in the area about this time.
The Rise and Fall of Schrei
The Mushi clan are quick to warm up to their eastern neighbors, the De Gama family, in which, Fai "Schrei" De Gama quickly uses the Mushi clan to his advantage, seeing as the albino only has a few warriors with him, and no pack, but lots of ambition. The Mushi clan are not suspicious of Schrei's true intentions and they aid him to muscle the Orochi clan into submission by basically trapping them within their lands by setting hidden traps all the way around their packlands. After several deaths of the Orochis, Schrei makes a deal with the head of the Orochi clan and makes them work for him in exchange for their lives. To save the rest of the waning Orochis, the head of the clan agrees and Schrei wins yet another battle.
Schrei De Gama did not stop here. He continued to use the warriors for his ultimate purpose of owning them all. Schrei then uses the remaining of both Orochi and Mushi clans to eradicate Izumi. They are successful in muscling the Izumis down to two before they finally gave in and agreed to become slave to the De Gama family. Schrei, being the ahole that he is, then orders for the Orochi and Izumi clans to procreate to bring in new assassin blood to the earth. This is when Orochi Kenji and sister Itzumi Kyoko are born and trained in the art of assassination.
Once the young progeny were older, Schrei turns on the eldest of the both Orochi and Izumi clans and eradicates them, leaving Orochi Kenji and sister Itzumi Kyoko in Schrei's hands permanently. Fearfully, Kyoko and Kenji serve the master and do not betray him.
Schrei's reign came to an end when his brothers, Raiden and Diedrich De Gama track him down and brutally assassinate him. There was no warning, no battle. Kenji and Kyoko come upon the death of their master too late and are forced to bend the knee or die at the hands of the twins. Kenji was no fool and bent the knee to the twins and continued to serve under the head of the De Gama clan.
Influence and Influences
- Izumi: These families are linked by the birth of Orochi Kanshinjou Kenji and Itzumi Kyoko. The joining of the two families completed a peaceful agreement between two opposing assassin clans that existed within the same area. They were on peaceful terms until up until the eradication of the two clans.
- Benoît Fauchelevent: These families are linked by the coupling of Kenji and Paquette and resulted in the birth of Ichizuma Riku, Ichizuma Sora, Orochi Sakura.
- De Gama: The De Gama family holds political influence over Shifuku Dikei. These Families were linked by the birth of Orochi Kenshin. It was again, another accidental birth that happened while Orochi Kanshinjou Kenji got slightly too comfortable with Mushi Tomoe; Diedrich and Raiden's mate.
- Osumare These families are linked by the coupling of Kenji and Chusi Osumare? after a one night stand. The resulting child is pawned off onto Kenji and is obviously his child.
Culture and Homeland
- The original 5 Orochis come from Osaka, Japan, while their children will and or born mostly in Canada, after the head of the Family moves from Japan to Canada. Most of these children still have Japanese accents and speak majorly Japanese, but will also know English more than their parents.
- Maybe they have a specific religion?
- Maybe there's a certain way all members of the family are raised?
Important Symbols
Going along with the name that they have been given, the Orochi clan was well known for their extensive knowledge in herbs and particularly poisons. Each year in the Orochi clan there would be a ceremony in which the young Orochi children would be put to the test by being exposed and bitten by a Mamushi and then treated with with herbs to counteract the venom. If they make it out alive, then they are gifted with the same snake that they were bitten by and it creates a bond that cannot be broken by any other relationship. They are taught this from the moment they are born, to co-exist with snakes, and they would reward you with the use of their venom. They were also taught alternative ways to kill and take down prey (including luperci prey) and they often dip the edges of their weapons in pit-viper venom before they go into battle.
