Beau (NPC of [[Characters/Cody Dallas]])

Beau is retired cow horse, owned by Cody Dallas.

1.  Appearance

• Size: 16hh tall, medium-large
• Features: Strong, muscular with broad chest and powerful hindquarters. Compact, but with long legs.
• Coloration:
  • Beau is a chestnut tovero: white with chestnut markings.
  • His head is colored, with a white blaze. He has a distinct patch on his chest.
  • His markings tend to be "fuzzy," and are most distinct near his belly.
  • His mane is white, while his tail has some ginger streaks.
• Gear:
  • Plain, Western-style leather saddle.

2.  Personality

Beau is still quite high-energy in his middle age and needs constant stimulation. Work was his life, and when he was retired due to an old injury, he adopted rather destructive behaviors that sometimes resurface when he's bored. He is a social animal and fits in well with other horses as well as Luperci, rather boldly friendly yet submissive.

2.1  Skills & Abilities Beau is an experienced riding horse, no stranger to the road. He is steadfast and does not spook easily; he's more or less seen it all. A trained cow horse, Beau excelled at cutting and sorting cattle. Due to his injury, however, he was retired. He still has strong instincts for his work and is much better than an untrained horse in these tasks, though he isn't at the level he was in his prime.

2.2  Likes & Dislikes He liked his job until he retired. He still likes to herd, and sometimes chases sheep, foals, and puppies... He cannot stand being stalled.

3.  History

• Beau was a ranch horse all his life, outliving his original owner and passing on to another cattleherd who he spent most of his life with. He had a lot of adventures with this person, yay!
• When he was thirteen, he was injured and became unable to work. Some of the ranchers considered putting him down, but the injury, while substantial enough to hinder him, didn't affect his quality of life too much. He ended up healing though by that point was considered too old to work with the younger horses.
• His cattlehand owner became too busy to devote time to a working horse, and when Beau began to pick up stable vices from being stalled, he reached out to Wayne McCoy to take him off his hands.
• Wayne passed Beau on to Cody Dallas, his son, when Cody made the decision to set off on a journey.
