Kubota Mossberg (kuu-BOW-tah moss-burg) is a member of Packs, ranked as a RANK. They hold the co-rank of CO-RANK. He is the son of Characters and Characters. Character’s life summarized. Include highly significant things, but, otherwise, try to keep it brief. This is supposed to give the reader a quick overview of the character without having to read their entire profile; however, it should also entice them to read further. If you have a detailed backstory, create a History section instead of throwing it all in the top summary. This profile template is designed to provide everything a curious reader or "fan" of your character would want to know! From what makes the character who they are, their history/character arcs, their relationships with other characters, to even cool trivia facts (for things like early concept models, unexpected changes/character developments, to cool did-you-knows!)! Think of this as if it's a character profile for your favorite book/anime/manga/comic/TV show character! The flow of this template is designed to give the reader the most important things they'd need to know first with lesser, non-essential-need-to-know things to be towards the bottom. |

1. Characteristics
1.1 Appearance |
Physical |
Kubota is a hybrid mix consisting primarily of coyote ancestry. He has a lean, athletic build that has been toned from hard labor, horseback riding, and working cattle. While he may not be bulging with muscle, nor be as powerful as a wolf, Kubota is—perhaps unsurprisingly given his lifestyle—quite strong. His work also means that the pawpads on his hands are somewhat rough. As far as his height and weight goes, he stands within the average range of a coyote. His fur is double-coated, and is less busy than one might expect from his wild roots. This gives him a more trimmed, sleek appearance. He primarily uses his Optime form for his day-to-day activities, however, he is just as comfortable in his Lupus form when it comes to working with cattle, driving off thieves, or, occasionally, patrolling. In his bipedal form, he keeps his hair short and well-maintained. He wears a cowboy hat with a red-tailed hawk flight feather tucked into the band of it. A chord with an adjustable, painted, wooden bead ensures that the hat stays on his head. He wears a wool poncho over his shoulders, a collared shirt, and has a pair of buckskin chaps and pants to cover his lower regions. Typically, he has one of his knives strapped to his thigh and his bola attached to his belt.

1.2 Personality |
Summarized: hardworking, brave, reliable, responsible, honest, loyal, playful/friendly, protective, compassionate, driven He is about what one might expect of a cowboy; hardworking, brave, reliable, responsible, and honest. He can be blunt at times, and can be downright sarcastic and crass at others pending his company and his mood. While he can be generally described as someone who is kind, helpful, and friendly, he can just as easily go from being playful to cutthroat in the blink of an eye. He is not above putting someone in their place, and is not one to let himself be walked over either. Those that manage to gain his respect and friendship will find themselves with a loyal ally that will stand with them even with the odds stacked against them. He is a man that does what needs to be done, regardless of his personal feelings or opinions of the matter or task at hand, and is one to strive to be proactive in a situation rather than reactive. Like the livestock he works with, Kubota can be stubborn and bullheaded about certain things. He's protective of his own; be it a friend's honor or their life, he will defend it. He is a confident and proud individual, and someone that will hold his head high even when beaten black and blue. Even when things are not okay in his life, Kubota is the type to try his best to ensure that others don't worry about him.

Biases
|
Sexuality Kubota does not actively search for romance, nor does he have any interest in someone just to warm his bed at night either. He is someone that would need to form a close bond with someone first, and, even from there, he is likely to remain somewhat oblivious to any deeper feelings he might have. He would be a respectful gentleman because of how he was raised. |
Spirituality He was raised with loose religious beliefs (Southern Baptist), however, Kubota would not consider himself a religious individual. |
Substances While he has partaken in alcohol, Kubota is primarily a social drinker, and doesn't like to get drunk. It's a habit that has stemmed over from his childhood, as being drunk or hungover when working, riding a horse, or dealing with cattle can prove fatal. |
1.3 Skills |
Note: Listed skills are those that the character has some significant talent or interest in to be noteworthy. Skills that have been mastered (and are best expressed as such) are marked. |
Main Focus: Cowboy
From the day he could walk, Kubota has lived and worked around horses and cattle. From the day he could shift, he's been a cowboy. He knows how to take care of both horses and cattle, and is highly talented in horseback riding and wrangling. Since he grew up on a working farm, he's familiar with other livestock and their general care, however, he is obviously more knowledgeable and experienced with horses and cattle.
He was taught how to make a multitude of different knots in his youth, and Kubota's lightning-fast hands make sure that he can tie them quickly when the seconds count. Expectantly, he is skilled with throwing lassos and bolas, and can do so from the ground, while in motion, or from the back of his horse.
His family's business and livelihood meant that he learned how to herd and read livestock from his Lupus days. When he grew into shifting age, he took that knowledge and applied it while on horseback. He does notably better with cattle, and herds better from horseback nowadays than he does while in one of his more feral forms.

Auxiliary Skills and Hobbies
He can speak fluent Spanish due to his family and community growing up. Kubota does not actively advertise this, however.
He can read and write, and has decent handwriting. He may refer to Wesson to pen things that require a more fanciful art to them, however. He can read as well, though, is by no means a scholar. He can also read and write in Spanish.
Kubota knows how to protect himself, and can certainly hold his own in a fight. Used to manhandling cattle and hard labor, his fighting style is more of a brawler-type. He doesn't waste his energies, and focuses primarily on take downs, dodges, disables, and hard hits. Because of his daily work, he's decent with a knife, and, if asked for his preferred weapon, the shorter blade would be his choice every time.
This is a definite hobby of his. He mostly whittles and carves small items that he can take with him on the road. When time permits it though, he likes to build things, from tableware to simple furnishings to boxes (be it jewelry or crates). He's capable of crafting barrels and even wagon wheels.
If it requires labor, Kubota can typically do it or figure it out. Repairing a roof? Fixing a door that's askew? Need a fence built? Even though he may not be an expert, he has a knack for figuring out how things work, and has enough practical and logical knowledge to repair most things (or at least "make it work" until an expert can be found).

2. History
Loner | |
Duration: | Nov 2019 – Oct 2021 |
Kubota was the youngest son born to John Mossberg and Lorena Deere. His father was a hardworking, honest man, and his mother was a sweet but stern woman. His older siblings were average as far as siblings went; equal parts role models, aggressors, and annoyances. He had a normal childhood for a pup born on a working ranch, and, from the day he could walk, Kubota was thrust into the thick of the family's livelihood. Where his parents didn't teach him, his siblings or neighbors did. And where they didn't, life taught him.
His family was part of a small, rural community that lived in the southern United States. Like many in their area, they had a sizable amount of land to call their own, and were close with their neighbors. A few members of the area could trace their roots and jobs back to their ancestors during the human times; the family of Kubota's childhood friend, Wesson Walker, among the few that could claim such pride in their history.
A family death drove the Mossbergs to eventually move north to Lorena's childhood home, and, moving with them, were the Walkers. Life was harder up north, but they managed. When rumor of a demand in beef in the east reached their community, the Mossbergs and Walkers decided to jump at the opportunity. A group of cattle were selected, and Kubota, two of his older brothers, Wesson and her father, and their horses drove the cattle. Their destination: Portland, Maine.
Before they could ever reach their destination though, they were ambushed by thieves. Kubota's brothers tried to fight them off, meanwhile, Kubota, Wesson, and Wesson's father tried to drive the cattle to safety. The effort was a lost cause though. Kubota's bothers fell, and Wesson's father was killed as well when additional bandits appeared during the chaos. Kubota and Wesson managed to escape on their horses, but, it was not without additional heartache. Wesson's prized horse had been severely injured during the fray, and had to be killed to put it out of its misery.
Just when they'd lost all hope though, by some miracle, the pair happened upon three of their cattle that had somehow been missed when the thieves had stolen and rounded up the rest of the scattered herd. Determined to finish what they'd started, Kubota and Wesson attempted to drive them to Portland on their own, however, they ended up lost, and traveled further northeast than they had intended.

Description |

OOC Assumptions |
Packs members may reference:
|
Skills & Abilities:
Description: Bluegrass is pretty typical of a stock horse. She's got a lean but solid build to her, and it's quite obvious that she's a working horse rather than a merely used for pleasure riding or showing off. While her markings may be unremarkable, it's her talents and skills that make her a valuable steed. She's agile and quick, able to turn on a dime and put on a burst of speed to outpace a runaway cow. Her powerful hindquarters give her the strength she needs to be both fast on her feet and deal with working cattle that can easily outweigh her.
Personality: She is highly intelligent, hardworking, and eager to learn, making her quite valuable when working cattle and other livestock. She can be stubborn at times, however, her refusal to budge or be intimidated means that she doesn't get pushed around by the cattle either. She's a fearless mare, and notably brave and protective of the Luperci she works with. Bluegrass is wary of unfamiliar Luperci, and is perceptive enough to figure out one that has "bad intentions" and act accordingly.
History: She comes from a varied bloodline of stock horses and mustangs. She is the foal of Kubota's father's horse, and was trained by his father until she was given to one of Kubota's older brothers. When Kubota came of age, he became her primary rider of the Mossberg siblings.

Glory (Bovine) (Hide) |
Basics |
Credit: Despi Active: MONTH YYYY – Present |
Description |
|
OOC Assumptions |
Packs members may reference:
|
Skills & Abilities:
Description: A long descendent from a variety of different beef cattle breeds, this bovine has a hardy, robust build that is almost athletic for such a hefty beast. They are surprisingly agile, and are a force to steer clear of when they charge, bolt, or stampede. They have medium-length fur that helps protect them during the colder winter months, and their horns help aid in protection from would-be predators. When he is full-grown, Glory will be a good-sized and powerful bull.
Personality: Somewhat gentle, though, it's clear that he's starting to test his limits now that he's more aware of how big he's growing. He's a cautious bull, and is very alert and attentive to dangers that might threaten his herd. When full-grown, Glory will be a proud and somewhat reserved male. He will be tolerant of Luperci and respectful of horses. However, he can turn aggressive when threatened or his herd (particularly his calves) is threatened. He is known to bluff charge, and it will be imperative that one learn the difference.
History: He was born to one of the Mossberg's cows, however, as the family already had the bulls that they liked, Glory was one of the handful of young males chosen to be traded off. During an ambush attempt, he managed to flee with two other, non-related cows, Nellie and Maribelle, before he was recaptured by Kubota and Wesson.
