1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

  • Species: Arno is very clearly a mixture of dog and wolf from his posture, colouration and fur texture. Those with little knowledge of dog breeds would be unable to place a breed, those with some knowledge would identify him as having a mutt (Mixed dog breed) parent.
  • Fur: Medium-Short fur that refuses to stay completely neat no matter how much he grooms. Tail is abnormally fluffy compared to rest of body, but equally as untidy.
  • Facial Features: Fairly thin muzzle. Face split roughly even between light and dark grey. Streak of light grey goes up between eyes + two spots of light grey above eyes. Ears end halfway up, bite marks.
  • Build and Size: While his ears, face and fur reveal his mixed blood in a million little ways Arno's overall build is very wolfish. Arno is among the larger size range for a wolf and has a body that is muscular but not heavy-set; closer to an athlete than a bodybuilder.
    • Lupus: Now he is fully grown Arno's body is lean and muscular, an athletic build accentuated by his somewhat thin fur. Arno has the body of an endurance builder; nimble and compact but with a solid frame of muscle driving him.
    • Optime: Arno is not a Luperci.

Lupus

Not being a Luperci, this is Arno's only form. The measurements here are of a fully grown Arno, not his current age.

Interaction

  • Speech: Very light, second hand Parisian accent. Uses lots of contractions, slang terms and shortened words. Formal speech and no contractions when angry or condescending.
    • Has many doggish vocal habits, such as barking.
  • Scent: Strong scents of peat, grass. Weak scent of lilac.
  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Twitches his ears a lot, licks his lips when nervous.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Confident, hyperactive. Very easy to read emotion through posture.

2.  Personality

Arno hasn't quite grown out of his happy-go-lucky puppy stage yet and as such while he is beginning to see the world in a more critical manner, at heart he tends to see good in everything and everyone that isn't immediately threatening. While he doesn't tend to stop and consider the future much, when he does Arno is typically an optimist; though if actual actions or events prove him wrong he is quick to get discouraged. In general he speaks and acts with a strong confidence, born of equal parts actual confidence and childish ignorance. Arno tends to pick out and overemphasise the good qualities of those he meets, with a not entirely healthy habit of developing hero-worshiping towards many who often don't entirely deserve it. While it has yet to really happen, the disappointment when someone Arno looks up to fails to live up to his expectations will shake him greatly.

Arno is heavily reliant on the idea of family; both of literal family and the figurative family of friends and packs. He can get heavily depressed and distressed when isolated from or drawn into conflict with family, but his stubborn nature can sometimes lead to arguments regardless of how much they internally distress him. Arno's fear of distance to his family has also expanded to a literal fear of distance; if Arno is truly lost, or if he is alone and has no idea where his family is, he is liable to panic. He is, however, fine being alone or in unfamiliar territory as long as he has a rough idea where to go to find his home and family.

While generally not one to be frightened in extremes, due to an encounter in his childhood that cost him his ear-tips Arno is terrified to the point of near phobia of any feline that is larger than him. He strongly dislikes, but is not afraid of, smaller felines.

  • Family: Arno values both his actual family (his mother) and the concept of family and brotherhood (such as a pack) highly, at this age he is starting to gain a sense of responsibility towards those he considers family.
  • Curiosity: While technically not a puppy by the standards of many, Arno is still very young. Much of what he does is driven by simple childish curiosity still, though he is beginning to grow out of this.

  • Abandonment: Arno is terrified of being lost or abandoned, though is fine with being alone if he has a rough idea where he is and where those he cares about are.
  • Felines: Arno is scared of felines larger than himself, and disdainful of smaller ones.

Being a young wolf, Arno has very few biases and tends to view the world with an open mind.

  • Demeanor: Arno feels slightly uncomfortable around those who are quiet by nature. He will usually either purposefully engage them in conversation, or distance himself from them.
  • Sex: Having been raised without a male presence for most of his life, Arno is typically more at ease around females.

General

  • Education and Learning: General skills and abilities.
  • Coordination (Above Average): Arno's coordination is above that of an average wolf, meaning that he is nimble and accurate on his feet.
  • Conditioning (Above Average): Arno has a naturally strong build and is starting to come into his muscles. He is a good bit above average height for his age, and slightly above average in strength for his height.
  • Running (Journeyman): Arno can run at a good speed and use his weight to push through light objects without slowing. He tends to tire when running at full speed over long distances.
  • Smell (Novice) : Arno's nose is strong and can pick out faint scents and weave through muddled scents, but he hasn't had much practice doing so and is slow at it.

Most of Arno's early life was spent traveling; from as long as he can remember he and his mother have been traveling around the American continent, slowly heading north with no real goal in mind. While for a long time they remained fiercely independent - at the insistence of his mother - when Aimée's health began to decline and she started to find it hard to provide for the both of them, the two started to seek a pack to call home.
