Maria Soledad is a coydog from Southern California. After living in relative solitude for her youth, she became bored of the old routine the desert had settled into. She set off to the east with only her bow and an old relic of her homeland.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics


  • Species: It's very apparent she has coyote and dog blood in her. She's larger than a pure coyote but boosts large ears and delicate bone structure. Though, it's hard to see since her face and neck have very thick fur.
  • Fur: Her fur is uneven, her face and neck have a very thick fur and are almost mane like and the rest of her body has a thick fur but its less noticeable.
    • Optime Hair: Jagged, puffed, messy
  • Facial Features: Looking at her face, she has high cheek bones and narrow features.
  • Build and Size: She's long and lean, almost gangly. Her posture and movements are loose until shes on the hunt, where she behinds very deliberate in her movements.
    • Lupus: She looks the part of the wily coyote with a bit more fur, slinking, sliding, and very quiet.
    • Optime: Self assured, confident
  • Humanization: Uses a bow for most of her hunting but doesn't wear a lot of clothes. Shes also fascinated by human relics, she carries out an old, bent star wars light saber. Most of the time its tucked into its plastic case but she can whip it to release the blade. However, since its bent and old it can only come out half way.


  • Fur:
    • She is primarily the color of straw.
    • Her shoulders and face darken to Antique Brass, and then redden into Sante Fe.
    • Down the back of her neck and back is flecked with Judge Gray and Antique Brass and some Sante Fe.
  • Markings:
    • Her ears are Sante Fe, along with the red markings of her face.
    • She has Quarter Spanish White markings in the form of a v on her chest, her belly, paws, and heels.

This is her form of preference, she hunts, sleeps, and crafts in this form. She finds the others limiting in one way or another.


  • Speech: She has a slight spanish accent, it's blended in with a few local quirks from other regions due to her travels.
  • Scent: Maria smells of sage, pine, and the dewy mornings of summer days.
  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: She sometimes loses track of her limbs when she's relaxed, she often has to do things a certain number of times to move past it.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Maria slinks without intending to, she's quite alert to her surroundings. When she feels safe, she melts and becomes very relaxed and unimposing.


2.  Personality

Maria is a bit of a trickster, a bit of an innovator, and more often than not, a flirt. For much of her upbringing, she was on her own and from that shes gained some odd quirks. She had memorized the scraggly desert she came from and had loved the wide open spaces. However, the desert had lost its challenge, its bite. Maria's pride and sense of entitlement sometimes put her into situations that are easily avoided. If she thinks she will be shamed or wronged, it makes her very frustrated and righteous.

She has a very loose sense of honor and does anything she has to to survive. It came from living in a harsh environment and being forced to make hard choices from a young age. Though, it hasn't dampened her spirit and most of the time she is very bright, if not a bit secretive. She may seem open and giving with information, but when it comes down to it, she says a lot but also very little.

Some of the things she does are odd though. For months, she has carried a prop sword made a cheap and warping plastic. When she goes to bed, she has to circle exactly twelve times. Before she eats, she taps her head three times. These are a few of her quirks which allowed her to keep a routine as she was traveling.

  • Injury to her hands: She survives off her bow and is defined by it. Without the ability to craft and fire the weapon would be a terrifying life to navigate.


  • Packs: Thinks Krokar smells too much of fish, fairly superficial.
  • Species: She considers herself better because of her dog blood, she has a slight bias against coyotes and inherently mistrusts them somewhat. Enjoys the company of dogs, even though she doesn't really fit in due to her coyote like appearance.
  • Non-Luperci: Her mother was turned shifter and thought down on it. Maria doesn't like that world view.
  • Gender: Men are more likely to be brutes and liars than women.
  • Color: Indifferent mostly, odd colored furs and patterns fascinate her.
  • Sexuality: She is open about her sexuality and relatively uncommitted to relationships. She does as she wishes and allows others to do the same.
  • Age: Old wolves may be wiser but senile, pups are an adorable nuisance.


Maria is a huge lesbian, she has known this since she first started shifting. Mostly, it has led to little drama in her life as she spent much of her time alone in the deserts supporting herself. She is generally uncommitted, through her travels she played around but often had to keep moving so nothing stuck.

  • Dislikes: Overcast days, attitude towards her, a broken arrow string, thorny brambles, cruelty, and cold nights


She's drank alcohol to excess but still has somewhat of a taste for it. She hasn't tried anything else and isn't particularly interested, though she would try it if offered.


Maria tends to thank some invisible spirits for the success of a hunt but she does not practice strictly. She merely has a code of ethics when dealing with prey animals.
