Scion of the Beaumont clan, Cassia was born to an extremely influential family within the pack. From a young age, Cassia proved to be acutely in touch with the spiritual realm and was quickly separated from her parents and siblings and raised within the religious sect of the pack. Fortunately for Cassia, the Beaumont clan famously produced excellent shamans, and though she rarely saw her immediate family, she was cared for well by her extended family. During her time living with the shamans, she was trained to pray, to perform ceremonies, and to fight. Armed and dangerous, the religious sect of the region was always prepared to weather the storm of internal or external conflict.

As she neared her first birthday, tension between the shamans and the Dior clan grew to a breaking point over a crucial subject—whether the Dior clan would support the shamans in their efforts to build a new shrine. As the pack divided itself, choosing sides and splitting families apart, the Dior clan approached the Beaumont Clan with a compromise. They would support the shamans if they married Cassia to the Dior clan's hostage, Ariel Legrand. At the time, Ariel was just over two years old and proving himself both in the practice court and on the battlefield. By joining the two in marriage, the Dior clan would take from the Beaumont clan their young and promising shaman. The religious sect would get their shrine, and the land it sat on, and the Dior clan would gain a new hostage.

Taken from her family as a hostage and married to a stranger, Cassia accepted her fate, and moved in with her new husband. Ariel surprised her in many ways, beginning with his utter lack of interest in her, not just as a wife, but as a person. Gone from the house more often than not, for the first year of their marriage Ariel hardly spoke to her. Bored and lonely, separated from everyone she knew and loved, Cassia eventually became sick of this mistreatment. One day, she blew up on Ariel, which forced him to realize that she was a real person. With time, the two of them became friends, then best friends.

The night the Dior clan's chief, Lambert, passed away, he named his firstborn son, Leo, the next chief. By dawn, Cassia and Ariel were on Ariel's ship with the men that managed to survive the night. All they knew was that Leo was dead, murdered by his younger brother, Eric, and that the clan was in complete disarray. They would discover later that they had escaped a massacre.

Intended Personality

Up to adopter, however, Cassia is intended to have the following personality traits:

• Hardworking with a strong sense of duty.
• Somewhat stern, Cassia has a powerful will.
• Despite the above, Cassia is kind, though she struggles to show this side of herself to others.
• Far more open-minded than the society she was raised in.
• Extremely responsible.

Important Notes:

1. Cassia was raised in an extremely gendered society and has a strong sense of duty towards her family and people. She carries out her duty because to not do so would be a betrayal, not only to her family, but also to her own values. Understand that for most of her life, other people have made big decisions about her future without her input or consent.
2. Now that Cassia has left her home and is traveling to 'Souls, the adopter has a choice. Will she double down on her old beliefs or change?
3. If Cassia is adopted before she is brought on board as Ariel's cNPC, the adopter will have much more freedom to alter her intended personality. That being said, Ariel and Cassia are meant to be close friends. Cassia's personality should be compatible with his own.
