1.  Description

These ray flowers are most often known for being bright yellow. There is quite a bit of variability among the perennial species that make up the bulk of the species in the genus, however, and various colors are found: orange, gold, lemon yellow, peach, ivory white, amber, ruby, crimson, variegated, and deep amaranthine.

1.1  Types

  • Various (Helianthus) -- various Sunflowers were cultivated by humanity and can still be found growing in 'Souls territories.
  • Sunroot (Helianthus tuberosus) -- this sunflower is native to the 'Souls territories. Its flowers are always yellow; it is smaller and shorter than the typical cultivar.

1.2  Obtainment

It is very common. It can be found sprouting throughout 'Souls territories.

1.3  Uses

  • Allelopathic: A biological phenomenon by which an organism produces one or more biochemicals that influence the growth, survival, and reproduction of other organisms. Sunflower aides Corn?, Squash?, and Beans?.
  • Food: Sunflower oil, extracted from the seeds, is used for cooking.
  • Dyes and body paints
