|
1. Appearance
- Size: ~6-8 lbs
- Features: Sharp and slender, his flawlessly dark fur is silky and flat, longest along his cheeks, spine, tail, and elbows. His long, sinewy tail is about as long as he is.
- Coloration:
- His only color is Woodsmoke, with very miniscule lightening due to his age.
- His eyes are almond shaped and colored a yellow-green Conifer.
- Additional:
- He has long, white whiskers and similarly colored claws.
- His accent is vaguely British.
2. Personality
Bragi is sophisticated and clever; a natural escape artist because he is also a bloody coward. He speaks Fluent High Speech, though sometimes he cannot remember certain words, and it will slow the flow of his speech at will. Bragi can also read at an elementary level, which makes him useful (if nothing else) to the uneducated Sonje, but it is his sound advice and inarguable logic that makes him a friend.
3. History
- Bragi was born in West Europe under the care of an old
crazy cat ladyLuperci named Miss Ivy Chilress, who owned his mother and many of her relatives, as well as other miscellaneous cats. His name was originally Inkwell. - Miss Ivy favored Inkwell of all his mother's children, and he was attached to her, so she began teaching him how to speak and read from a very young age. When Ivy decided to sail for the Americas, as her last "grand adventure", he was the only of her cats to accompany her.
- He learned much more on their journey, but after her death of natural causes, Inkwell found himself terribly alone and barely scraping by. He holed himself up in a bookstore for several months, where he met Sonje one night when she came in for shelter.
- After finding out he could read, Sonje fed the cat and took him into her care. He seemed frightened of everything but her, which strengthened their bond more than she had intended it to, and though he had proved useful, she found him becoming her friend as well.
- Several weeks after meeting him, she began calling him Bragi for his slight accent and the poetic riddles he seemed to enjoy teasing her with.

About
Once a slave, but now a rescued companion of Kali's, Rook is very slowly and surely forming his own personality -- mainly at his new owner's insistence.
Choosing not to speak, rather than being unable to, he is quiet and complacent for the most part, though seems uncertain a lot of the time, while tending to awkwardly linger when he hasn't a command to follow. He will diligently follow an order, though occasionally he exhibits minute displays of independence, and will sometimes disobey when faced with the ability to pursue his own whims. (Said "whims" are never harmful and they mainly center around his neediness for Kali and his eagerness to please her.)
He is docile in nature but has a fair capacity to react defensively, which betrays his level of intelligence despite the misconception otherwise that he is dim-witted.
3.5 Interaction
Rook is friendly, but incurious. He will not approach others or actively seek attention, though seems interested enough that he won't shy away from strangers. Though he talks, asking his opinion on something or someone is mostly useless, as he lacks any semblance of a judgmental quality. Rook will flinch if approached too quickly, but is fond of being petted and is otherwise a plaintive and calming sort of company; attentive and obedient to a fault.
History
- Rook was born at Siegfried into servitude, and raised by Luperci to be a "pack mule" and livestock-guard.
- In October of 2013, Kali de le Poer? and her siblings stopped in Siegfried to rest and restock. Due to a unfortunate and fortuitous crossing, Kali wound up killing Rook's owner and fled the area immediately after. Rook followed.
- In January 2014, Rook and Kali spend many weeks alone, and she teaches him to understand her and to speak more.
- In April 2014, Rook joins Kali, Agrippa, and Marlowe in Inferni. He is ranked as an Outsider.
