Calcifer (NPC of [[Characters/Pascal Sadira]])

Calcifer is a smartass cat, the son of Wilson and Muddy born during the chaos in Cour des Miracles brought on by the meteor. Pas named him after a fire demon in his favorite story.

1.  Appearance

Calcifer is a short ginger tomcat with hazel-colored eyes and a bright pink nose. He has a white locket on his chest and a lighter-tipped tail -- whose pale bands are the only clear evidence of Cal's tabby markings, which otherwise fade into his fur. He calls himself "stocky" but he's also a bit plump around the middle.

2.  Personality

Calcifer is somewhat selfish, whiny, and greedy -- often needing to be goaded into doing tasks and favors for other. He arguably cares for others -- especially Pascal and his mother Muddy -- but he tends to lack empathy or otherwise convincingly portrays himself as ignorant about others' feelings. He's more likely to steal from the kitchen than hunt, and more likely to watch someone trip over a broom than warn them that it's there.

That said -- he is an intelligent cat and seems to have inherited his father Wilson's innate talent for language and thought, and can often be found "dozing" among the books in the library, where he often reads.

2.1  Skills & Abilities Calcifier is highly intelligent and able to speak fluent English in addition to his native feline Low Speech. He is additionally able to read, one of his favorite pastimes.

2.2  Likes & Dislikes Likes food, warm sunning spots, books, and food. Likes Pascal a whole lot, but won't admit it. Dislikes work, lectures, cold, rain -- and Daddy, a little bit.

3.  History

• Calcifer was born to Muddy and Wilson in the aftermath of the meteor impact. His mother was lost in the Court's caverns, but the little family was safely relocated to the Chien Hotel.
• As the kittens grew, Calcifer showed a penchant for intelligence -- and, unfortunately, laziness. He was a real momma's boy, and Pascal indulged in his self-serving attitude. Wilson, meanwhile, saw the spark of cleverness in his son and -- wanting a parent-child relationship he hadn't had since Aysun -- tried to encourage Calcifer to get out and learn. Long story short, some resentment formed.
• Calcifer is now the companion of Pascal, and an avid reader of books and bacon-thief.
