1.  Synopsis

Bojack McKenzie and brother, Holland McKenzie, were born in a small, dog-dominant community in Appalachian America. Predominantly settlers, they'd taken up homesteading around a local church and its parish, following the Lutheran faith and rearing livestock. As per his culture's customs, Holly's ears were docked from a young age for the belief that it would make him a better shepherd - to which Bojack immensely envied in her youth. Life was relatively quiet throughout the duo's adolescence, both growing brash and braggadocios as the days went on and ever-testing the boundaries of their Smallsville-esque community, without any true repercussion.

The young duo, however, uncovered corruption at the heart of their collective at the hands of the little Church itself - the man heralded as their preacher had been smuggling illicit substances in the small-scale, but had graduated into seedier trades. When a rash of unshifted youth started going missing, Bojack and Holland had decided to investigate as to where it was they were going, only to discover the preacher's trafficking, to which they were run off into the night. Shaken in their beliefs, the two travelled north, peddling what they could of stolen goods and their animal husbandry skillsets, before meeting Dustin Scarborough and Dillon Harland, whom they stuck with. The quartet of dogs joined Del Cenere Gang at the end of July in 2020.

Boots is most commonly found where she is regularly comfortable - namely, the Lancaster Stockyard, the Parish, or traversing the trails of Del Cenere's territory. Her time is spent patrolling and monitoring the Gang's livestock, playing music, or manning the Foxtail Farrier. Despite her stand-offish nature, she seems to have taken quite a shine to Flintlock Sutton.

2.  Appearance

Basics

Any and all trace of Boots' coyote bloodlines have been utterly lost, generationally bred out of her in favor of the appearance of landrace dog. Her muzzle is somewhat boxy, her coat dense and silky, her ears floppy, and her build generally broad. Thanks to her generally manual workload, her hands are rough and worn, and her muscle thick and wiry; Boots is not so much curvy as she is built a.k.a. absolutely stacked, a frightening and busty unit of a woman for labor and cold weather. Her large size through lupus and secui are largely in thanks to influence from her Anatolian Shepherd heritage and other livestock guardian breed genes.

She rarely leaves her optime form, or wears an expression other than one of shrewd judgement.

  • Posture and Body Language: Closed off and unsociable. Keeps her arms crossed and her speech succinct, making her seem largely unapproachable.

3.  Personality

Basics

Bojack can easily be described as an acquired taste as far as personalities go. She's aloof, stern, and takes very little guff from others. She sports a know-it-all attitude and staunch independence to which she wields without hesitation to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants. Boots' strong will is bent only slightly to fall in line with Del Cenere's authority, but otherwise, she can come across as crude and disrespectful. She is not overtly generous, and regards most relationships as transactional, which can be construed as her being utterly cut-and-dry with her interpersonal interactions. It's rather difficult to get through the stone walls she puts up to keep others at bay.

Beneath her shrewd surface, Bojack does, surprisingly, enjoy social interaction with close companions, where she can act loud and larger than life. She adores a good, friendly competition, and can manage to swallow her enormous pride when humored. She has a talent and penchant for stringed instruments.

While she has largely abandoned her Lutheran faith, shadows of it still follow her. Beliefs in non-Abrahamic religions are mildly regarded as outlandish, though this stance has slowly begun to shift towards acceptance. Her internalized misogyny, however, haunts her actions in her overtly compensating mannerisms.

Description

  • Distinctive Appearance: A stocky, tall, pale-coated mule of Mammoth Jack and hotblood descent - he's immense, muscled, and capable.
  • Personality: Docile and mild-mannered, Foley expresses his affection frequently by lipping at Bojack and severely undercutting her stand-offish tone. She, undeniably, is utterly fond of her soft-hearted mule. He readily befriends other livestock, and has a sweet tooth; because of this, he can be potentially overbearing and pushy when heckling luperci for treats and can be difficult to deter.
