1.  About

The Dawn-Tears war was a very long from mid-2002 to mid-2003, though it was hardly bloody or violent. It has the distinction of being like, one of the only true wars without Inferni's involvement, although it was begun over rather silly circumstances. :p It lasted a pretty long time, though there wasn't much going on between the two packs that signified a war—there were two major battles, and it was essentially ended when Romney departed the pack, leaving Faye in his place for a few months. From here, the leadership of the Dawn pack cycled around quite a bit, a strange shift from the longevity and stability found in Alorran and Romney. Internal problems pretty much ended this war.

Tensions between Clouded Tears and Silent Dawn never really lessened, but violence and hostility ceased roughly around July of 2003. When Chimera was formed at the beginning of 2004 in Silent Dawn's old territory, the Chimeran wolves didn't continue half of their predecessors' problems with Clouded Tears. Instead, Chimera was just indifferent to the Clouded Tears pack, perhaps something reminiscent of the prior tensions.

2.  Leadership

2.1  Silent Dawn

The Dawn-Tears War lasts for most of Alorran's rule in Silent Dawn. Romney was the beta male for most of this time. Nikki served as the gamma female for some time, as well.

2.2  Clouded Tears

In Clouded Tears, Nirupama Rashmi was the leader for the first half of the war. Darkling Owl continued in her footsteps, although he was far less clear on its circumstances, as he had not been present for most of the initial conflict. Ashened serves as the beta and Kiriska is the gamma during Rashmi's rule; Kiriska is the beta and Ceres Sadira is the gamma during Darkling Owl and Ashened's rule as well as during Ashened's solo rule.

3.  Backstory

When Clouded Tears was first formed, members were selected from each pack to begin the new one:

So, in April of 2002, when Argent Noirci was killed by an angry bear, Nirupama Rashmi took it upon herself to travel to Silent Dawn and inform them of what had transpired to bring the end of their former members' life.

Nirupama Rashmi was understandably upset, and she reacts badly to Alorran's attempts to comfort her. This small event seemingly sparked almost a years' worth of tensions and anger.

  • Faye becomes Alpha Female of Silent Dawn after the beta (her brother) Romney and the alpha, Alorran disappear. Nosferatu Traum, Tigra Sunbound, Xiomara Aurora, Aisha, Bloodblack, Nitro, Yamushi, Drusilla Ilysa Sangre, Kennedy, and Ilkhan are in attendance. Faye introduces herself as the Alpha Female and explains why she has the position--her blood relationship to Romney--and informs the pack that teamwork is necessary for proper pack functions. [6], [7]
  • Because Faye felt pack unity was more important than ill relations with their neighbors and Clouded Tears was wrapped up in its own drama and problems, the tensions pretty much fell to nothing. When Romney returned, he didn't continue outright hostility with their neighbors, though relations between Silent Dawn and Clouded Tears were never friendly.
