2.1  Family: Prior

• Mother: Harebell Prior
• Father: Amaulik Ikiaq
• Siblings: Kenojuak, Osuitok, Manasie; Pipaluk

• Extended: Posey Prior is Toklo's grandmother, and her many daughters are his aunts. However, Toklo was not told about Posey; he has only heard stories about his mother's littermates, Asphodel and Rosebay. Toklo was also named after his paternal great-grandfather and has cousins in the tribe.

2.2  Key Relationships

• Willow Cormier is Toklo's best friend and a sisterly figure. He was intrigued by her when she first arrived in Iqaluit by virtue of being someone different, but she quickly won him over with her kindhearted and bold nature. They are very close, and Toklo adores her and often relies on her -- though sometimes he thinks she can be a little too smothering.

2.3  Family Relationships

• Harebell Prior and Amaulik Ikiaq are Toklo's parents. He wished to emulate his father, a great hunter and powerful sled-dog, in his youth, and Amaulik taught him the basics of what he knew. His mother, Harebell, always doted on him.
• Pipaluk Prior is Toklo's littermate. He and Pipaluk had a typical brother-sister relationship; they butted heads over many things, but they had each other's backs when it counted.
• Kenojuak Prior is Toklo's older sister and one of his closest siblings. Kenojuak is bold and full of life, and she always encouraged and looked out for Toklo. She was a great umiak captain and often took Toklo out on her boat when he was small.

• Manasie Prior and Osuitok Ikiaq are Toklo's older brothers; Manasie is a shaman, and Osuitok an artisan. Toklo was not as close with them as he was Kenojuak; they were always a little introverted and stuffy for his tastes.

2.4  Other Relationships

• Iomair, the king, and his wife Vodeva are well-liked by Toklo. He admires Iomair's strength and kindness, but he is especially taken by Vodeva's somber beauty and assists her where he can, since she is frail.
• Inara Ailurus, Percival Parhelion, and Daisy Parhelion were members of The Shoal that Toklo lived alongside for several months.

• O'Brien is Willow's boyfriend, apparently. Toklo likes O'Brien and thinks he's nice and good for Willow, but he also really likes teasing O'Brien.
• Athras Eryn seems to have piqued Willow's interest (Toklo once caught them kissing!!), and as such, Toklo keeps a watchful eye on him just in case. He isn't sure what to make of the Lord-Regent yet.
