1.  History

Sanuye was not originally born in the Great Tribe. She was the daughter of two coyote dog hybrids. Both her parents were of the same breed of dog {German Shepard} but not the same coyote species. Her mother was a bit smaller than her father and much lighter in color. They were both loners and had but a single child. Sadly, Sanuye's mother died in child birth and left her father with his newborn daughter. Feeling that he would not be able to take care of the child himself, he traveled with her to find the pup a new home. Along the way, he noticed the Great Tribe traveling and figured they'd be a great new family for her. Once they had stopped moving, Sanuye's father came close and left his daughter in the grass. The last thing the pup felt was her father's gentle nuzzle before he ran off. Sanuye began to call for him, but he would not come to her. One of the Great Tribe's members found her and brought her back with them. The pup's father watched in relief to see his daughter in a better home and slipped away, never to be seen again. Sanuye was adopted by a wolf family within the Great Tribe, even though she looked like a coyote. Kachina raised the pup as her along with her own two sons and took care of the lost pup while they were traveling.

Even at a young age, Sanuye was a timid kid. She stayed near her foster mother most of the time and was too shy to speak to the other members of the tribe. The only friend she had at this age was Nayati, seeing as he was always around to check on her. The coyote always admired everyone's ability to shift and she was not able to do so. With the help of her parents, she was able to convince them to change her. Although it was a rough procedure and had terrible effects on her, her family was there as was Nayati to help her through it. After her change, Sanuye opened up to the tribe and Nayati taught her a bit of hunting. Perhaps hunting was not the coyote's strong point, she missed a lot. When she wasn't hunting, her father taught her fire building while her mother taught her some spiritual practices. While her life progressed, Sanuye came up with a few ceremonies and rituals on her own. She spoke all her prayers in a native language {in this case Arabic since I can't fins any native american translators}.

Sanuye was about one year old when the storm hit and drove the Great Tribe off its course. Although she was the youngest among the Otsana siblings, she took care of her brothers when the rain got heavy. The coyote became a helpful aspect to her family and wanted to help the tribe out in any way she could. Once the storm had passed and the Great Tribe settled down, she set out to hunt for the tribe. This was when she met her horse Niyol and took him in to heal his injured leg. Once he healed and decided to stay, her foster father taught her how to ride him. She used a blanket to cover where she was sitting and held onto his mane. Niyol didn't seem to mind her doing this and she was sure this way he'd still feel a bit wild. Sickness was in the air and even though the coyote was not a healer, she helped to provide food and warmth to those who were sick. Her fire building skills increased but her hunting was still not up to par.

When she was almost two years old, her good friend Nayati left the Great Tribe to join the smaller AniWaya tribe. Sanuye felt so lonely without her friend around and was often found sitting all by herself. That March, the coyote turned two and felt her calling and went on her spirit journey. During her journey, she met her guide and friend Shilah after surviving a bear encounter. When the new two some returned to the Great Tribe, Sanuye no longer felt so lonely, but she did miss the company of her friend. After spending more time in the tribe, Shilah convinced her that the journey would be safe and wished her to seek out her friend. And thus began the journey to the coyote's new life in AniWaya.

2.  Personality

If you want a talkative person, then Sanuye is not the right luperci for you. Sanuye is a very shy and quiet luperci. Normally she is alone by herself and is not the first one to start up a conversation; although once you get to know her and become friends with her, she opens up a bit more.

Sanuye is very spiritual in everything she does. When she's out hunting, she says a little something to give back to the earth for her food. If you come upon this luperci, normally you will find her at home and meditating or out taking her horse for a ride.

To most strangers, Sanuye is kind if they are kind back, but there are times where she and her spirit guide don't feel right about some wolves/coyote's. To these strangers, Sanuye will try not to even talk to them.

3.  Appearance

3.1  Lupus form

In Lupus form, Sanuye has a bit of a meduim build. She has a bit of a skinny waist but strong legs. Even with her good legs, somehow she still is not a good hunter, but it would be good for fighting if she wasn't such a coward. Well anyways, she has a bit of a longer tail and it's a bit more like a coyote's than a dog, even though she's half german shepard. As for her face, it has the structure of a coyote, but the colors of a german shepard. The lower part of her muzzle is a cream/tan color while the upper part of her face is mostly black. There's some brown around her eyes, on her eye dots, and also a bit on her muzzle. She also has some brown along the edge of her ears. She also has some red markings along her forehead as well as under her eyes. Speaking of her eyes, she has silver eyes.

Moving down you come to Sanuye's actual body. For the most part, her underbelly and legs are the cream/tan color; however, her legs on the outside have some brown on them. This brown area reached to about her ankles. Her foot pads are actually a tan color, some had a couple black spots on them. For the most part, her back is black with hints of brown in them. The under part of her tail is cream/tan while the top part of it is black that fades to brown towards the end of it.

3.2  Optime

Sanuye's optime form looks exactly like her lupus form except on two legs. Her markings on her face remain the same but now she also has some hair on her head. While she may not have the neatest hair in the world, she has some curl hair. Her hair looks a lot like this. Along with her hair, she also has some skirts that she wears. She normally doesn't wear a top with it unless she is outside of the tribe's lands. The skirt she is normally wearing looks like this.

Not only does she wear clothes, but Sanuye also has some accessories that she wears, most of them are in her hair.

5.  Spirit Guide

  • Name: Shilah
  • Nickname: Ocunnowhurst
  • Age: 2
  • Gender: Male
  • Breed: Blanford's Fox
  • History/First Meeting:

Sanuye was never a brave wolf. She was always cautious and the first one to run anytime trouble came up; however, everytime she was hiding, she could always feel like someone was there with her. She always felt like there was someone there comforting her and allowing her to remain calm even with trouble still lingering around.

Around March of 2010, when she was about 2 years old. Nayati was no longer around and her only real friend was her horse. A few days passed and Sanuye could feel something calling her. It was time for the coyote to go on her spirit journey. Sanuye's journey lasted for a good week. During the time she was traveling, she fasted. Wanting to make this truely spiritual, she didn't eat anything the whole time she was gone. The first couple of days, not much happened. She spent the day wandering and setting down once it got dark.

About half way into her journey, she spent one afternoon meditating near the bank of a river. She could hear something coming behind her. Once the coyote turned her head around, there stood a proud male grizzly bear. Sanuye was so scared and stood frozen with fear. With her body not willing to move, the bear only came closer. A gentle voice whispered to her and told her that a little trick would save her life. Something knocked her off her feet and she layed on the ground. The voice told her to remain calm and close her eyes.

It seemed like hours had passed before the voice told Sanuye she could open her eyes. Once she did, the coyote stared into what looked like a cheetah's eyes. When she finally sat back up, she realized the creature was much smaller than her. It was a fox. He explained to her that some things work to get rid of enemies. Playing dead for a bear is good because bear's often don't attack things that aren't moving. Thankful for the fox's bravery, she invited him to join her on her quest back home. He came with her and became her spirit guide.

Once home, Sanuye presented her new friend with the nickname 'Ocunnowhurst' which was the native name for 'yellow wolf'. Seeing as her family was a bunch of wolves, she gave him this nickname so he would fit in with everyone. It was with his encouragement and bravery that helped Sanuye get over her fear of the dangers the earth had and she made her journey to AniWaya.

6.  Horse

  • Name: Niyol
  • Age: 4
  • Gender: Male
  • Breed: Paint
  • History:

Niyol was born in a herd of wild horses. Both of his parents were paint horses as well. His mother was more on the brown side with some white while his father was mostly white with black splatters. Like any young foal, Niyol spent most of his time with his mother as his father was taking care of the herd. Life was peaceful for all of them. Once he was a strong colt at the age of two, he was allowed by his father to help handling the herd. He protected them and rose to be the leader of them. Although he lived peacefully with his herd, not everything went so well.

Once Niyol was about three and a half, some wolves came to take them and domesticate them for their own uses. While the colt was trying to protect everyone, he was seperated out and ran to escape capture. Thankfully he was able to drive them away from his herd and get away from them without getting captured. It was a bit rough on the colt without anyone else around, but he managed to survive on his own.

While Niyol was out exploring, trying to find his way home, he got his leg caught in a trap. This was the colt's first encounter with Sanuye. She was out hunting and was lucky enough to hear his cries. Sanuye was about one and a half when she found him. She carefully undid the trap and lead the injured horse back home. She spent every day taking care of the colt until he fully recovered. Once he was all better, she returned him to where she found him and let him return to his life in the wild. Niyol ran and returned to her, wanting to stay with her. Sanuye took him in and learned to ride him with the help of her foster father. It was then that she named the horse 'Niyol', the native word meaning wind. The two have been companions ever since.
