Myrkr Stormbringer was the son of Shiloh Dawnbringer and Silvano Sadira, born and raised in Vinátta. He was a weak child as a result of poisoning during his mother's pregnancy, and an anxiety-ridden teenager who tried his best to fit into the pack. He hoped to pursue the Starfa rank path as a shepherd and wool-comber -- however, plans changed when his mother departed to join his father's pack.

Without his anchors, Myrkr decided to leave his birth pack, hoping to find strength in independence. He briefly shacked up with a tattoo artist out of Freetown until the meteor impact -- an event that destroyed whatever confidence Myrkr had begun to build. Fretful and nervous, he was kicked from his living situation when his anxieties became too much for his partner to deal with. Overwhelmed by worries and by being truly on his own for the first time, Myrkr struggled in the wilderness but was too ashamed to return to Vinátta. Fortune found him that summer, however, in the form of a friendly giant who helped him out. He and Octavius slowly and careful constructed a friendship based on trust, which helped ease some of Myrkr's worries.

Come August 2016 while wandering New Brunswick, Myrkr met Willow Cormier -- who invited him into her pack, Krokar. He settled well into the sleepy pack, working in the background with the livestock, unambitious and content with his lot. However, the following year, Myrkr returned from a trading venture to find a familiar face at his home -- Sebastien, whose presence thrust Myrkr into a panic. He left Krokar as a result.

Myrkr met Biff Blackrust not long after -- and while the tough dog initially intimidated him, he was drawn to the community his bar created. Myrkr became member of the "bar squad," providing entertainment and conversation to its patrons, but began to fall to drink more and more to cope with the deaths of his parents. Not long after his sister Thyri's death, Myrkr was discovered jaundiced and dead, likely due to liver problems brought on by alcohol abuse.

Essentials

  • Species: Myrkr strongly showcases his Timber Wolf heritage with hints of Italian features.
  • Fur: Thick, almost curly in places.
    • Optime Hair: Naturally a curly mop like his father's, Myrkr has begun to slick it back as he grows more confident.
  • Facial Features: He has a long-muzzled, slender face that is somewhat effeminate.
  • Build and Size: Myrkr is average in height, with a lanky and skinny build. He is long-legged and willowy, and notably has a stub tail.

Interaction

  • Speech: Gentle, with a musical lilt to his voice -- though it occasionally quavers and stammers when he's upset. His voice is not traditionally masculine and sounds like a younger man's.
  • Scent: Mint, soap, wool, rivers, sheep; Stormbringer with weaker Sadira scent.
  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Myrkr has adopted some almost feline gestures as a result of being half-raised by cats. Other quirks include small compulsive actions to ward off his obsessive thoughts -- including handling objects a certain way, standing a specific distance from others, etc.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Myrkr is oddly graceful and catlike in his general posture, with movements that are quick and deft. His posture is telling; while he usually appears submissive but extroverted and friendly, sudden shifts in posture will reveal his troubled state. If he isn't bouncing and happy, he's nervous and disheveled.

  • Poison: Though he is better about this, Myrkr is still shifty about strangers handling his food and drink.
  • Illness: Avoids those who are sick (or who he thinks are sick) at all costs.
  • Harming Others: He worries that he might be a danger to others and is very self-conscious in his actions. Normal intrusive thoughts about harming others frightens him into thinking he'll actually do it. He often attributes mishaps to himself.
  • Celestial Events: The meteor impact left a mark on Myrkr's psyche, and he obsessively searches the sky each night to make sure that nothing is amiss; even distant shooting stars or perceived strangeness in the moon will frighten him.
  • Loneliness: Myrkr wants to be adored by his family and pack and is afraid of being alone, having no friends, or being resented.

Biases

  • Species: Myrkr finds wolves and wolfish-looking dogs more attractive than other species, but has no bias otherwise. He is fond of non-canine animals like cats and sheep, though more "spirited" animals (like horses or birds of prey) overwhelm him.

  • Illness: He refuses to interact with a canine he thinks is sick, even if they are family or relying on him for help. He might alienate those who seem sickly even if it's not the case.

  • Myrkr knows a lot of the stories, but he feels a little lost without a patron deity or a fultrui relationship, like his mother Shiloh's with Freya. He is a casual observer who doesn't partake much in ceremonies other than for the culture of it, though he ascribes various phenomena to the gods. It's likely that his faith could expand to others' believes, especially if he "clicks" with a god.

3.1  Family

  • Shiloh Dawnbringer: Myrkr was always something of a momma's boy, and her departure from Vinátta made him panic. He draws a lot of his "calm" personality and interests from her, including needlework and a fondness for cats and cleanliness.
  • Thyri Dawnbringer: Though they bickered like siblings, Myrkr and Thyri were close. Her adventurousness and pursuit of combat and poisons drew a rift between them before he left Vinátta, as his need for them to protect each other was at odds with their newfound adult beliefs. He misses her dearly.
  • Silvano Sadira: Myrkr's father is a more mysterious figure. As a child, he bragged that he was the son of a King -- but their family situation was never a simple one that allowed the bonding Myrkr longed for. Myr doesn't know when he'll see his father again, but a part of him is worried Silvano will be ashamed of him.
  • Abigail Sadira, Alessan Stormbringer, Dreyma Moineau: Myrkr isn't as close with his older siblings, but he loves them. Dreyma watched out for him and passed on some survival skills, while Abigail (on the very brief occasions they visited) was so bubbly and kind that he adored her. He looks up to Alessan as a cool brother.
  • Pascal Sadira: Myrkr has met his half-brother on a few occasions and feels a kinship with Pascal due to their issues with anxiety. Pascal talked with hem openly about these things and gave him advice, though ultimately both half-siblings were a little too awkward and reserved to form as strong a bond as they desired.

  • Willow Cormier: A bubbly, adventurous (if intense) girl who befriended Myrkr when he returned to New Brunswick. Myrkr is drawn in by her friendliness and charm, but her reckless and gung-ho nature makes him a nervous wreck.

Past Relations

  • Wilson & Muddy: A pair of cats who half-raised Myrkr and were significant figures in his youth. Muddy helped care for and calm Myrkr when he had panic attacks, and Wilson was a mentor/father-figure who was as involved with Myrkr as Shiloh was. He misses them terribly.
  • dude: A handsome trader of wood and bone baubles out of Freetown who became Myrkr's first relationship. Doe-eyed, Myrkr followed him around and the trader took care of him -- but after the meteor impact, an event that shattered Myrkr's confidence, destroyed their relationship quickly. Unable to justify pouring all his energies into helping Myrkr through panic attacks and calming him when it caused him only stress, the trader reluctantly made the decision to break up with Myrkr. It's likely that the trader was a good guy simply unequipped to deal with Myrkr -- though Myr feels wretched thinking about him, thinking that Myr was a burden on him and ultimately destroyed their relationship.
  • Octavius Poer de Angelo: The friendly giant who helped Myrkr out in the wilderness. Troubled and a bit slow, Octavius had many problems of his own, but Myrkr and he worked to build a lasting friendship. Octavius made sure Myrkr was safe, and Myr helped take care of the aching giant; they each served as each other's company. Myrkr also had a big crush on Octavius, but it was one whose lack of reciprocation he was comfortable with, and it became a running joke.
