Marlowe de le Poer is a coywolf most known for his violent behavior and history as a drug pusher. He is traveling with Jethro Lykoi. Both are current members of The Troupe, a band of loners living in Fort Cumberland.
The only son of former Inferni Aquila Ezekiel, Marlowe was born alongside his two sisters as loner. Their single mother raised the trio in Scintilla, though Marlowe and his sisters traveled Inferni as young adults. Within his year-and-a-half membership there, Marlowe served as a trader and Triumvirate council member until his forcible removal and exile from the Clan following the war with Cour des Miracles. His involvement with a serial killer and his trafficking network would eventually take him as far south as Yuraw, where he lived against his will for over a year.
With unclear motivations, Marlowe returned to Nova Scotia and the remnants of his old Clan. He would leave the area with a young relative after a brief stint as a member of The Cartel.
On their way through Portland, a reunion between Marlowe and a cousin would soon lead to an ill-fated journey. In a whirlwind series of events, Marlowe and his new partner found themselves caught up in what seemed to be a straightforward enough task -- an ill-timed trade mission westward, to Michigan. Instead, their party was caught up by terrible events occuring in Erie?. In the aftermath, Marlowe and Jethro separated from their group.
They have since returned to Nova Scotia, and have most recently been "hired" by The Troupe.

The only son of former Inferni Aquila Ezekiel, Marlowe was born alongside his [Characters/Kali de le Poer|two]] sisters within the Riding Mountains not long after his father abandoned his duty as Clan leader. His father had abandoned his leadership position in Inferni and been joined not long after by Sirius Revlis, the ex-Boss of Salsola. They would be joined by Clover Love Lykoi and her children, Lokr and Larkkin. Another ex-Inferni member, Enkiel Lykoi, bolstered their numbers with his own mate and son. Their traveling group, which lacked the formal organization of a pack, continued pressing ever westward.
The first six months of Marlowe's life were spent exploring, traveling, and learning alongside these people, and gradually becoming aware of the true nature of their migrant lifestyle. Eventually, though, bad luck (and remnants of the Boreas wolves) caught up to them. Forced to separate, Marlowe and his sisters traveled south with their mother. It was a difficult journey, but by June, they reached Scintilla.
Isolated and ostracized by their peers, the de le Poers did not remain part of Scintilla for long – they abandoned the war-torn area and traveled north, seeking their ancestral home: Inferni. Suspicious of the unfamiliar leaders of the Clan, the trio remained loners for a time before finally deciding to stay.
Marlowe's skills and experience soon saw him acting in the defense of Inferni, where he rose to a position on the Triumvirate. Despite this, secret involvement with a drug-trafficker named Campion soon began bringing about changes in Marlowe, who began abusing stimulants. Even the war between Inferni and Cour des Miracles War did not prove enough to keep Marlowe from participating in substance trade and use. His unexplained absences (as well an increasingly toxic relationship with Vicira Tears) eventually cast suspicion over him in the eyes of many within Inferni, but most importantly, then-leader Vesper. After a particularly violent argument between the two, Marlowe orchestrated the final (and unnecessary) battle of the war without her knowledge and attempted to flee from prosecution once this was discovered. He managed to escape with his life, exiled and named an enemy of the coyote Clan.
His choice to join up with his trade partner proved an ill-fated decision, as Campion had kidnapped Osrath Eternity, a high-ranking member of Salsola. Fearing reparations from her powerful pack, Marlowe aided in her escape. When Campion discovered this, he assaulted Marlowe. Though Osrath's attempt to kill Campion saved his life, Marlowe was left severely wounded. It was only with the aid of a childhood friend, and a woman he had met previously that Marlowe managed to stay out of the grave, taking refuge under her protection. However, when the truth of his status as an exile was discovered, Marlowe was forced to leave. Pazuzu accompanied him, though not for long -- after a particularly nasty fight with the jackal, Marlowe found himself alone.
He soon became entangled in the remnants of Campion's trade network, taken prisoner by Gutsavo Salazar. These two men soon found themselves sharing a common problem, owing debts to a trade network with considerable reach. Fate had other plans for them, however. When a boat they were taking south was caught and capsized in the chaos following the Red Star falling, the two men used this as an opportunity to fake their deaths and escape. Marlowe found himself without a choice in the matter of what to do after, and traveled to Yuraw, where Gustavo resumed his work with Marlowe's "help". Conflict never seemed far away, however, and growing tensions in and around the city eventually reached explosive violence. When Yuraw descended into chaos, Marlowe fled.

2017
January 2017The rain is particularly heavy during this month, and combined with unusual shifts in weather sees a strain of sickness spread through Yuraw. Apothecaries (such as the Salazar family) prosper as the demand for their services increases. The Sullkachaña dogs slow trade beyond the city, esentially cutting off supplies from Umaki, who suffer greatly. Marlowe stays relatively healthy (all things considered), owing to his northern blood. He takes advantage of this when able, stashing away supplies. |
FebruaryThe worst of the sickness passes, but paranoia about it does not. Traders continue to limit their dealings, and hostility brews in and around the city. When Marlowe defends one of Gustavo's neices from a shady encounter in the streets, the family warms a bit more to his presence. |
MarchAs the weather stablizes and the rain begins to lessen, the city returns to normal...at least, on the surface. Unrest begins to make itself known in small incidents in and around Yuraw. Though still being used as a "tester", Marlowe continues to worm his way into the group and gain more freedom to move about the city. |
AprilMarlowe accidentally wanders into a witch-woman's shop. She asks him to do her a favor. He does so. When he asks about this strange woman later, Gustavo warns him about her positon and supposed powers. |
MayPredictably, Marlowe begins to visit the old woman regularly. He "befriends" the wildcat? that lives in her shop. |
JuneA massive festival takes place in the city. |
JulyGustavo and Marlowe travel to Salar de Uyuni. It proves to be a profound experience for Marlowe, elevated further by drugs, and he realizes he desperately wants to return home. |
AugustMarlowe tries to determine exactly where he is with crude maps, though struggles with the implication of just how far away from the familiar he is. His resolve falters and he spirals under the influence of barbituates. |
SeptemberA horrific attack leaves a group of traders dead outside of the city limits. Groups of Sullkachaña members seek out the Umaki, who are supposedly responsible for such an act. Rumors begin to float about this being a staged act, though this talk quiets with surprising speed. |
OctoberTo some (including Marlowe) the hostility outside of Yuraw seems to be reflecting inward. Things become more hostile throughout the city. Talk spreads about the Umaki gathering under one leader and the elders of the Sullkachaña disagree on how to move forward. This talk stagnates and eventually explodes, with harsh words exchanged between Sullkachaña's various family groups begin to breed division. |
NovemberViolence flares in Yuraw as the Umaki (with supposed internal aid) attack central Yuraw. The Sullkachaña factions split apart and this chaos provides Marlowe with an opportunity to escape. Believing Gutsavo dead, he flees Yuraw with Maya. |
DecemberThe two travel alongside the Rio Madeira until they reach Porto Velho, and stay there until they are able to find passage north. Marlowe detoxes during the interum. Their route takes them to the Amazon itself. |
2018
JanuaryMarlowe and Maya continue to follow the Amazon river northeast. They end up in Tunapuna-Piarco, Trinidad. |
FebruaryLife on the island is slow and quiet. They spent time fishing and squatting in various places. Marlowe regains his weight. |
MarchShit hits the fan. Forced to abandon their home once again, Marlowe and Maya begin island hopping the Caribbean. Poor weather delays them in St Kitts, though the few locals are friendly and the other travelers provide entertainment to pass the time. |
AprilA ship agrees to take the pair as far as Puerto Rico. Using his various skills, Marlowe gathers more supplies and manages to find another boat that will take them to Haiti. |
MayThey cross to Cuba and the larger island provides more than enough space to disappear. For a while, this is exactly what Marlowe and Maya do. |
JuneAfter being targeted by a small pack of dogs, Marlowe and Maya decide to get off the island. The promise of returning to the mainland leads to a difficult journey that reinforces the dangers of traveling by sea upon Marlowe, who swears off sailing thereafter. He and Maya pass through the Everglades just long enough to realize its danger, and after Marlowe expresses no desire to continue west, begin traveling north. Marlowe steals a horse and this speeds up their progress. |
JulyThe road north continues. Marlowe trades his horse along the way for another, and another after that. Though they stay near the coast. |
AugustTowards the end of the month, Marlowe arrives in Portland and tries to avoid attention by traveling under a false name. |
SeptemberCompelled to see the place he once called home, Marlowe leaves Portland and travels northeast. He runs into a familiar looking young man who recognizes his name. Despite their intitial hostility they become relatively agreeable with one another. Marlowe learns that Jethro was born in Inferni...and that it exists no more. |
