A tall, willowy male with a robust musculature and a trim form. His appearance suggests a heavily coyote-influenced heritage, but closer inspection would reveal the muddled history of his line. Though his muzzle is narrow and his skull chiseled to reflect a hardy expression, the curve of his ears is less severe than one would expect. He possesses a thin coat of fur in the summer, and a longer coat in the winter that provides little to no protection from the harsh chill. However, the dark ridge of fur down his spine remains long even in the summer and is slightly coarse to the touch. He keeps his mane cropped short against his neck, and it sticks up in an awkward faux-hawk as a result; it is somewhat tamed but not managed. He is missing his right ring finger. The fur around his chin has grown out slightly, and is now peppered with gray hairs.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

  • Species: Kadar is a confusing mix of wolf and coyote with a sprinkling of jackal. It would be difficult to pinpoint which is the most dominant in his lines just by appearance alone. His ears are long; his muzzle is sharp and elongated, and his bone structure robust.
  • Fur: Coarse, thick, and untamed. Not full or bushy.
    • Optime Hair: Cut short. It sticks up slightly from his skull, giving him a bit of a mane.
  • Facial Features: Lean and sharp. His cheekbones sit high on his face, and his muzzle swoops directly into them, giving him a characteristically arrowhead shaped head.
  • Build and Size: Smaller side of average, with a very fit musculature. He carries himself mechanically.
    • Lupus: Small and nimble.
    • Optime: Slight and graceful.
  • Humanization: High. He is often seen wearing clothing, and using tools.

Modifications

  • Scars:
    • At least two-dozen raised scars varying in severity down his shoulders and spine from a brutal flogging.
    • Missing right ring finger.

Clothing

  • Wears a white thawb made of sheep's wool in the winter months, and one made of cotton in the summer. It is cut abnormally short, with other areas altered to give more freedom of movement.
  • Beneath the thawb is the izaar which is also white.
  • Covering the entire thing is a dark navy-blue abaya embroidered with a blanket stitch in white.
  • Old leather gauntlets with arm sheaths.

A thin, narrow-breasted canine with all the appearances of a leggy coyote-hybrid. His bone structure is gracefully delicate. He rarely uses this form unless to travel or scout.

Secui

The weight of this form is distributed much more evenly throughout his body, giving him a more wolfish appearance. Though he is far from a monstrous brute, his shoulders are defined by thick cords of muscle, and his paws have a limited amount of dexterity. This form is used during brutal fights when he has no access to his usual weapons.

Optime (Preferred)

He is not as tall as many of his peers in this form, but he holds himself with confidence, and it almost gives the effect that he is larger than he truly is. His basic appearance remains virtually the same: narrow body, lithe musculature. It also accents his very angular frame.

  • Speech: Heavy Syrian accent. English is acceptable. Speaks in a hoarse baritone.
    • His spoken English vocabulary range is basic. He can hold a conversation well enough, but he is not at all eloquent or verbose.

Traits

Anxious, dramatic, hot-headed, cynical, controlling, self-flagellating, pessimistic.

  • Outlook: Optimist. Eternally looking out for the silver lining.
  • Sociability: Introverted. Though he has no aversion to socialization, it would be hard to draw out any personal information from him.
  • Expression: Focused, easily angered, intelligent, bitingly sarcastic, but with an edge of genuine kindness.
  • Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Motivations

  • Was initially commanded to travel to the Americas to expand his knowledge and skills, and bring anything he finds of use (specifically books, scrolls and other useful artifacts) back with him to Tehran. Now he is entirely focused on lending himself to Inferni as he feels entirely indebted to them. When Nadir abandoned the clan, he left to retrieve him, and was punished upon his return to Aleppo and imprisoned. He spent a year there before a fellow brother took pity on him and gave him the means to escape. Kadar returned to the Americas where he resumed his search for Nadir to no avail. He goes where the work is, offering his skills in return for food and goods.

Fears

  • Debilitating Injury: He is a very active creature, and would suffer greatly from dismemberment, blindness, paralysis, and other extreme injuries. Losing one of his digits was terrifying for him, and it was only one finger.
  • Psychosis: He has witnessed his friends and allies go mad from the sights, sounds, and events of war. He keeps his mind sharp by working constantly, and does not allow himself to mire in day terrors.

Biases

  • Species: Very wary of unfamiliar jackals due to the unrest in Jerusalem.
  • Non-Luperci: They hinder themselves for no reason, therefor Kadar views them as inferior.

Sexuality

Kadar is a Pansexual but a Demiromantic. Basically put, he is capable of loving any gender or sex, but can only form a sexual attraction to those he has formed close emotional bonds with; he is incapable of being sexually interested in strangers. As a result, he doesn't actively pursue any physical relationships.

  • Likes: Debate, food, tea, learning new skills, animal husbandry, horses, architecture, construction, building, crafting, working, cartography.
  • Dislikes: Paperwork, being cooped up, dishonesty, disloyalty, religious extremists, arrogance, war.

Substances

Not normally. He'll smoke a hookah to be social, but doesn't care for other substances such as alcohol or drugs.

Spirituality

Follows loose principles of Ismailism, specifically Nizari beliefs but doesn't consider himself a very religious man. He does it more out of respect for his elders and superiors.

  • Nadir al-Sayyid: Nadir was extremely important to Kadar, if no less aggravating because of it. The two had been together since they were young and, despite a few major blow-outs that resulted in messy separations, they had always managed to find their way back to one another again. Nadir called it fate, while Kadar (jokingly) calls it a curse. Once upon a time they are intimate with one another, but it usually happened after an argument, and neither of them were willing to stick a label on it. Nadir has now been missing for three years, and Kadar has long given up hope of finding his brother alive. If he did return, their relationship would be irrecoverably broken.

4.1  Abilities

Strengths

  • Armed Fighting (Master) Kadar is proficient with daggers, scimitars and throwing knives.
  • Literacy (Master/Journeyman) He is a master at reading and writing Arabic, and beginning to dabble heavily in English.
  • Cartography (Journeyman) Kadar has training in map-making and knows the basics of creating a readable, useful map.
  • Construction (Master) Having spent a lot of time rebuilding villages during the war, Kadar knows his way around a hammer and tools.

Weaknesses

  • Kadar is easily angered in certain circumstances, and this can make him blind to the bigger picture.
  • Has a weaker left arm, and minor muscular dysfunction due to injuries sustained during imprisonment.
  • Cannot stand seeing children suffer.

Trade

Kadar is very open to trade, and he is very easy to work with if the person inquiring is offering something fair in return. If he thinks you're trying to screw him, he'll get aggressive and threaten violence. The items that he offers are precious and extremely rare in Nova Scotia, and he covets them.
