Spotting him hanging around members of the Drygrass Posse.
Seeing a clumsy looking coydog whittling or working away at surprisingly detailed wooden figures.
Often observing nature, both animals and plant life, as living studies for future crafts whether as figurines or larger projects.
1. Appearance
1.1 Essentials
Basics
Atypical Huxley build, Jackdaw is all slopes and soft angles. His roachback is pronounced, curling somewhat even when relaxed and will likely result in hip problems later in life. His facial features are soft and his doggish heritage is thick, and while his muzzle isn't as tapered as his siblings, his bridge is sloped and even slightly crooked. His father's coyote blood results in over-large ears, though rather than pointing upright, or even resulting in any semblance of pointedness, they instead droop, no matter the angle. His chest is deep, and the tuck of his waist is narrow, stereotypical of a Huxley sighthound lineage. Jackdaw is exceptionally leggy and built athletically, and larger than his littermates depite being the youngest.
In optime he is slender and lean, though lacks outright masculinity outside of the bluntedness of his features and the callouses of his palms. His spine's natural curvature often results in a slouched posture, which goes hand in hand enough with his gentle demeanor, and despite the light look of his frame, his feet carry him heavily and clumsily, a gait more befitting the bounce of wolf than dog.
Jackdaw does well to keep himself clean, though he's not as averse to dirt as his sibling, Osiris, and has worker's hands, riddled with small marks that have long healed. He's appreciative of clothing, though is more modest about his appearance and avoids baubles that tend to veer away from practicality.

1.2 Miscellaneous
Adornments
Jackdaw's humanization is relatively moderate - not low enough to be considered semi-feral, but not high enough for him to deem it a necessity to wear things while out and about. He does like the modesty of clothing, but does not shy away from those who opt not to wear it, considering that a few members of his own family prefer their own skins to shirts. When it's most convenient to wear clothing (i.e.: making an impression, working with dusty or dirty materials), he prefers it.
Jewelry and Accessories
A L L of the bandanas
Some suspenders? He like the snap
Clothing
A couple ratty, moth eaten shirts, some missing buttons
Old, worn slacks
a few rare in tact shirts
Interaction
Speech: Usage of a lot of filler words/sounds (um, but, ah). Tends to trip over his own words and repeat himself, stutters on occasion. Says 'bother' a lot when inconvenienced.
Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: for all his talk on 'practicality' with clothes, he sure does collect a lot of darn kerchiefs and bandanas.
General Posture and Body Language: Slouching, stooping, meek
2. Personality
Years of teasing and bullying have transformed dear Jackdaw into a gentle and introverted man. Despite being the youngest, he was far from the runt - the largest of the four siblings, and even in youth he adopted a passive role to his more boisterous littermates. In his small world, they were the ones with ideas, ambitions - Jack was merely along for the ride and eager to accept guidance. His unyeilding optimism and desire to be liked or gain approval tends to make him a bit of a yes-man.
Critical thinking and problem solving are not his forte. He's perhaps the slowest of his litter - not to say that he's unintelligent, but he tends to anxiously overthink situations for answers, and hardly has the mind for quick-witticisms and possesses a curbed tongue. Too often, he's hung up on potentials, and if something goes wrong, he gets hung up on how things should've been handled, and he boasts an over-fed sense of self-responsibility with his desire to be forthcoming and reliable. Jackdaw is no good at insulting people or coming up with plans, but ambitiously throws himself to projects when given direction, and follows command with ease. He values teamwork, but would rather follow than lead, for his clumsy and bumbling attributes; blunt and straightforward, he's a simple man with simple wants and needs.
He's a terrible liar unless in the face of someone that he dislikes, in which he oddly adapts a misplaced sense of confidence, but he's not averse to withholding the truth for the benefit of others, and often does unless pressed for answers. While he lacks charisma (and in some cases, sensitivity) he portrays himself genuinely. A sheltered childhood lends him a sense of ignorance, and sometimes his forwardness can be construde as offensive, but if corrected, he attempts to ammend himself and educate himself on how to better conduct his behavior for the future.
Failure: he hates the idea of messing up. Even moreso, he hates the idea of messing up so bad that something is irreparable.
Ostracism: Jackdaw is a social creature that thrives on the praise and approval of others. Being isolated or outright shunned is a fear as well as a motivator.
Death: Faith is a curious thing to Jackdaw. His mother instilled a sense of wonder in regard to Grand Spirits, though it was a hallowed and reverent way of speaking, and while he tells himself that some of the myths must just be myths, he's still horrified to think of what lies beyond the grave.
Biases
Species: Jackals freak him out. He doesn't know why. He don't trust them tiny hands.
Color: He's never seen outright brown eyes before - anything outside of his norm of color range within his family is considered exotic and he tends to fixate on it out of curiosity.
Sexuality: Monogamy monogamy monogamy - anything else is unseemly, and he's averse to intimate physical contact unless in a relationship.
Sexuality
Kinsey 1 - heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual
Is intensely shy and awkward, especially when the on the receiving end of flirting
It's really hard to talk to girls, okay
Will be fully devout to his partner, regardless of their flaws
Dislikes: drugs, thievery, liars and lying, dangerous situations, magic
Substances
Drugs are bad and do bad things to you >:C
Jackdaw does not approve of substances, but more or less turns away from them rather than dissuade someone, thinking a cold shoulder would be enough to deter someone from doing anything he doesn't like.
Spirituality
Polytheistic
His mother's belief in great and grand spirits of the Malificar have had some impact in his life. In the same breath, he dismisses the ideas of big scary ghosts watching after you through the eyes of birds and beasts as silly, but it's obvious that he does believe in them. He practices in private, as is custom, but veers away from the more magical aspects of the religion. He's horrified of anything even remotely resembling witchcraft, and considers it angering to the natural order of these Gods.
WanderMAMA. Thought himself to be the biggest mama's boy, until Gilderoy came around.
Beau Huxley is one of his older brothers, and while somewhat bullied by him, they shared a sense of camaraderie. He admires his eldest brother almost as much as he admires his pops.
Moss Lykoi is his hard-headed, teasing, and exuberant sister. While she tends to hurt his feelings, he laughs it off and attempts to be less thin-skinned with her, and enjoys her presence.
Nightingale Huxley and Sulyvahn Huxley are both enigmas to him. His younger siblings seem interested in combat, and he regularly feels outpaced by the duo.
Osiris Huxley is a PUNK. He's also that darn flashy older brother, and the two find themselves at odds in most things. Jackdaw tends to think Osiris conducts himself with pointless malice, and his morbid fascinations unnerve the younger sibling.
Gideon Huxley is a kindred spirit of a younger brother, and Jackdaw strives to make a lasting, positive influence on his sibling.
Gilderoy Huxley is the source of much-loathed envy. Roy is smarter than him, Roy is more charming than him, Roy loves mama more than he does, Roy has Priam's (perceived) favor. He wants to love his little brother, but feels overtly ignored, and thus keeps arm's distance and then some from the scrappy, gold-and-red sibling.
Jackdaw picked up woodworking nearly the minute he gained hands, considering he was ill-suited for combat, but still wanted to contribute to his family. He finds working with his hands soothes him, and has kept at it ever since, and has a talent for craftsmanship.
