An average agouti mixture of sandy brown, dark auburn and pale cream. Jack is a tall, robust man who, in his Optime form, stands 6'11" with a weight of 271 lb. He is hardly ever seen as a Lupus or Secui, though his proportions would correspond with those of a large Grey Wolf. His eyes are a warm orange. When he's not in any particular rush, Jack walks with a naturally brisk gait. His step is confident and his manner serene. Jack gives off an aura of knowing exactly what he's doing at all times, even when he doesn't. He isn't stony or impassive but he also doesn't tend to wear his emotions on his face--instead displaying contentment and a polite smile unless otherwise is appropriate. Jack has a relatively wide array of dress, which he brought with him stuffed in a ratty backpack. Among these is his choice of work clothes: overalls and the occasional plaid shirt if the weather isn't too warm, along with a ratty straw hat on especially sunny days; his night clothes: an old pair of black dress pants, faded to a dark gray by now, and a once-white shirt which now sports a pale brown tint; and his casual dress: a pair of slacks, in better shape than the rest of his pants, and a baggy men's polo the color of ash.

Personality

Hard-working and ambitious above all else, wrapped around a fundamentally simple man with equally simple values. But Jack has his vices, which he inherited from his father: he firmly believes he can drink anyone under the table, and has the ferocious thirst to prove it. Whether sober or inebriated Jack is prone to flares of wicked temper, another trait he inherited from his father, though he is usually just a mild-mannered farmer's boy.

History

Born and raised as a farmer's son, tending crops was all Jack ever knew. For a family that didn't have too much in the ways of money, the Basket family lived rather comfortably. Though they were English by descent, Jack the other Baskets owned a cozy little farm house in the French countryside, where they grew enough to sustain themselves and earn two coins to rub together in the nearby market. It was Jack Basket Senior's responsibility to load the wagon and ride into the village, sell the crops, and then bring the earnings back home. But, men have needs, and old Jack was a thirsty fellow. He would usually return half the earnings at best and come home a drunken mess. A few times he even went so far as to crash the wagon, and his junior would have to ride out and fix it.

Regardless, Jack Junior was happy where he lived--for a little while. He was an ambitious sort, and he always knew that there was something other waiting for him in another part of the world. One day, he decided that this place was on the other side of the ocean, and worked towards getting himself there. He took on multiple jobs, worked long days and sometimes nights, until finally he was able to see himself onto a ship embarking for the New World.

The ride was less than glamorous, and Jack felt something like an indentured servant. See, he was able to scrap up a decent amount of money, but it was just short of enough to board as a passenger. But the captain took pity on him and gave him a spot on the crew--some two months of hard labor just to get where he was going.

Along the way he shed his title of Junior and became, simply, Jack Basket--he was a new man, without ties to anybody in this new land. They landed in wild North America just in time for his third birthday, and the weary traveler wasted no time trekking even farther north to where, he was told, lived packs.
