2.  Personality

At the time that her father was still a present role in her life, all Guin ever wanted was to be his perfect little warrior princess. Guin's desire to follow in his footsteps and impress her father drove Guin's actions daily. Thanks to this bond she picked up traces of his deep morals and strong compassion, even to this day, with hints of his (in)famous snark. Despite the dominant positions of her parents, Guin didn't believe herself entitled to anything. Well, at least, after her late mentor, Jonas, made it clear that she was no special snowflake simply because of her heritage. After the death of her mentor, the disappearance of her parents, and Tristan, Guin found herself feeling very lonely and bereft. Having grown up with a happy family, for the most part, the absence of those she knew ever since she was a pup makes itself known. She blames herself at times, for not trying harder to keep her family together. Even though she is surrounded by packmates, they too come and go sometimes. She can't help but wonder, occasionally, if she'll forever be doomed to watch others leave.

2.1  Demeanor

Outwardly it's like nothing is wrong, she goes about her days as normal, perhaps more quietly than before. Occasionally her snark flares up as a defensive mechanism to deter anyone from getting too close, like Marius, or her family.

2.2  Ideals

Interests

  • Likes: Horses, hunting, training. The smell of the earth after rain. The faint scent of sawdust that still, somehow, hangs around the carpenter's shop.
  • Dislikes: The faint scent of sawdust that still, somehow, hangs around the carpenter's shop; it reminds her of her dad.

Traits

--

  • Outlook: Realist
  • Expression: An introverted extrovert, dominant
  • Alignment: Likely a Good alignment, possibly even Lawful.

Fears

  • Everyone leaving.
  • Failure to uphold the ideals her father instilled in her for all the time she knew him.

Motivations

  • Still trying her best to make her father proud, even if this desire is so much more fragile than it used to be due to his absence.
  • Being there for everyone, even though she's afraid of anyone being there for her.

Biases

  • Packs: She remembers when Anathema caused their trouble and holds a slight grudge against them for destroying the feral clan of New Dawn. Salsola is probably forever on her shitlist due to their use of her father as a hostage.
  • Species: Coyotes are weird.
  • Non-Luperci: She remembers being stuck in her Lupus form and doesn't truly understand why some non-Luperci wouldn't want the freedom of hands.
  • Gender: Females are just as kickass as men, and sometimes more vicious and vindictive.
  • Color: Canine's with a similar coloring to her father make her sad at the sight of them. It's not their fault, and she knows that, it just reminds her of him and hurts.
  • Sexuality: She's not homophobic, but she doesn't have much exposure to that and so finds it a little odd.
  • Age: Pups are cute and wriggly but not useful for much else. Most elders deserve respect for their experience.

Sexuality

Guin is as straight as a board. If a female were to show interest in her, she'd have no idea what to say. She probably wouldn't even react. Due to a failed first time crush, and reinforced by the fact that she had the up close and personal view of her parents falling apart, Guin doesn't believe in love anymore. If her parents couldn't stay together forever (and she remembers when it seemed like they would; they loved each other so much) then how can she, or anyone else? It's a painful experience she'd just rather do without. Any attempts to flirt with her will be met with snark and a disinterested shoulder.

Substances

Guin has imbibed a few times. Not enough to hinder her performance or capability, but some nights she sneaks into her parents' old house and curls up on their bed with a bottle of something that burns and tries to remember when her family was happy and together.

Spirituality

She follows the god of the sun and moon, Fenris, like most members of the Knight family.

3.  Relationships

3.1  Key Relations

  • Alistair Callow-Knight: Guin was daddy's little girl, they were very close. After his disappearance she was heartbroken and misses him terribly.
  • Lola: Although Lola and Guin had a very loving relationship, she always gravitated more towards her father. After he vanished, Guin grew much closer to her mother. When it was discovered that she, too, left, it was life a kick in the gut. It was one of the only times she openly cried in front of her brother.
  • Tristan Callow-Knight: Guin loves her her brother and would do absolutely anything for him. When both of their parents disappeared it only served to deepen her bond. Once it was discovered that he too had gone missing, well....he was all she'd had left.
  • Honrin Wolfe-Denahlii: Guin's relationship with Honrin had a rocky beginning, built on innocent ignorance and male hormones. Now, while the hormones may have stayed, the innocence and the ignorance have both left the building. He teases her relentlessly, in every sense of the word, but he knows without a doubt that she can fire back at him just as hotly. It started as a crush, or infatuation, and has developed to the point where she is both comfortable that he wants her for more than a night in bed, but is now terrified of losing him.

3.2  Family: Callow, de Valence

  • You might want to just keep a simple list of characters your character has encountered, or you might want to describe them, or whatever.

3.4  Former Relations

  • Dead and inactive characters should go here.

4.  Interaction

  • Speech: She picked up some of her dad's British accent
  • Scent: Casa di Cavalieri

4.1  Residence

  • A large wall surrounds and protects the Fort. There is many homes and shops, a library, racetrack, training rings, stables, barn, and the Courthouse, where Guin sleeps (except when she sneaks into the old carpenter's shop to sleep in her parents' bed).

Note: you can find a template for all your NPCs here. For brevity's sake, this larger template only includes basic information regarding NPCs.

4.3  Abilities

Strengths

  • Carpentry (Journeyman): Woodworking is a skill she watched her father wield for as long as she can remember and had a fair amount of knowledge about it before attaining the rank. She is no where near her Da's mastery but perhaps someday she might.
  • Sword Sword (Journeyman/Master): This is the weapon she chose as her primary during her days of apprenticeship. She's extremely good at it, trains often, and can even adapt to dual wielding it alongside one of her axes with relative ease.
  • Dual Axes (Apprentice/Journeyman): These were picked up after an altercation with the Syndicate where she witnessed her Lune wielding them, sparking an interest in her. She's good at them, but has grown to prefer dual wielding only one of them with her short sword.

Weaknesses

  • Guinevere is prone to bouts of alcohol bingeing. It's not so often anymore, due to that some circumstances have changed, not to mention the bar in Casa's territory making it more difficult to drink in the solitude of her shop.

6.  History

Guinevere was born to Alistair and Lola after a particularly difficult pregnancy. She was the first born of the litter and Alistair and Lola's very first baby girl. She lived with her mother and father in their home in the Fort Kingsbury Town square. They shared their home with a cat- d'Artagnan who Lola had adopted as a family member. Guinevere was cherished by both parents equally, Alistair and Lola always made an effort to spend quality time with their children, even when their schedules were full and bustling with activity due to their ranks.

When things began to fall apart, Guinevere opted out of the stressful situation by moving into the Courthouse, hoping her parents would figure it out so she could move back in and they'd be happy again.

This hope would not be a reality, as things only escalated until they eventually broke. Alistair and Lola absolved their mateship and went separate ways, albeit staying in the pack for the benefit of their children. It didn't last long, as the final straw for her Da came when he went out of his way to hunt down his estranged, manipulating father and kill him for the things he'd done. But Alistair felt that he'd done wrong by this, and so bade his daughter farewell and left Casa di Cavalieri for the wilds of Nova Scotia to look for ways of redeeming himself.

For a long, long time, Guinevere had been angry at her father for leaving. It wasn't until later, when her brother visited to inform her that their mother, Lola, had never arrived to his pack for her scheduled trading visit, that the anger morphed into a bone deep sorrow, a pining for the family that'd been torn apart.

It didn't help that, when Guin mustered the courage to get on horseback and make a trip to her brother's pack, injuring herself in the process, only to find out that he'd, also, disappeared into the wind in an attempt to search for their mother. All of these things coalesced into an orb of bitterness, wedged in her chest. A loneliness she could not fill.

Life began to breathe back into her, however, when she accidentally bonded with Arlen Stryder during one of her drunk moments in the old carpentry shop house. Since then, steadily, she's come out of her shell more and more, even to the point of falling helplessly in love with Honrin Wolfe-Denahlii, no matter how much both of them try to down play it.

Some players choose to continue their timeline history with important events from the thread archive while other players are content to use this section solely as a "before 'Souls" section.
