Fire D'Angelo is a wolf from Khalif, the son of half-siblings Anguish D'Angelo and Prophet D'Angelo. Born with black fur, he belongs to and hears the voice of the dark god, Tak. He was notorious for his insanity and quick temper on the Mountain, a profound warrior and a dangerous pyromaniac. As a cursed wolf of Tak, he was named for his fate -- burning to sate the hunger of his cannibal god.

Shortly after his sister, Bane, was sent away from the Mountain for her own safety, Misery D'Angelo gave Fire a similar mission. Sent to serve Bane in Misery's purpose in Nova Scotia, Fire brought his sister Hope with him and traveled toward Salsola.

Sponsored by Bane, Fire is an Associate learning the ropes of the pack.

  • General conversations (e.g., greetings, chats about interests).
  • Seeing Fire around Salsola: combat training, hunting, secluding himself, making grumpy faces, burning prey animals alive, following Hope around like a lost puppy. Basically, anything that's "usual" for him to be doing, it's cool.

PM to discuss:

  • Specific conversations, especially conversations which may later affect RP (e.g., arguments, revelations).
  • Trade Assumptions

2.  Personality

Fire is a volatile, quick-tempered monster. He is arguably insane, and his labile emotions only serve to highlight this. He often experiences disproportionate anger and lashes out impulsively when "provoked," making it likely that he suffers from intermittent explosive disorder. Anything can trigger this, even something as simple as looking at him "funny," but he responds most violently when he feels Hope is threatened.

Even when not lashing out, Fire is restless. Constantly distracted by his troubled thoughts, he is always on edge, and even when he tries to control himself comes across as abrasive and defensive. He does not make friends or allies easily, and in a "neutral" mood remains evasive and closed-off until irritation escalates to an outburst.

Much of his issues are rooted in his self-loathing and conditioning as a black wolf of the D'Angelo family: a sinner who cannot be saved. He has been declared evil even at birth, and so Fire has internalized this. This inferiority complex causes him to be the antisocial monster he is, as well as driving him into depression and destroying what tenuous grasp on sanity he has.

Simple affection is a quick way to win Fire's trust and loyalty.

2.1  Ideals

Traits

  • Outlook: Pessimistic
  • Sociability: Introverted, aggressive
  • Expression: Dominant, emotive
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil

Motivations

  • Hope: His sister is his everything, the only soul to treat him with unconditional kindness on the Mountain. Driven by an obsessional love, Fire aims to protect Hope from the dangers of the world. His true wish is to take her as his bride, but he knows that she would never succumb to such sin.
  • Salsola & Bane: Fire is struggling to learn the ropes of his new pack, thinking its culture confusing and full of lies -- but he will serve it for Bane's sake.
  • Tak: The cannibal god "speaks" to Fire, ordering him to do his bidding -- which includes setting fires and "cleansing" the world of Ankh's wolves. Though at a crossroads with his love for Hope and needed restraint in his pack, Fire feels that serving Tak's will is the only way to "save" the ones he cares about.

Fears

  • Hope: Fire knows that his relationship with Hope is on thin ice; she is pure, and he is a monster. He's afraid of hurting her, physically or otherwise, as well as losing her. Without Hope, he knows he'll lose all hope of redemption.
  • Burning: Fire knows that he was named for his fate, and that eventually he will need to burn. Afflicted by apparent pyromania as he is, he views the flames with more terror than respect.

Biases

  • Color: White wolves are likened to gods in Khalif, and Fire is unnaturally drawn to them -- as well as drawn to kill them. Most dangerous is when his attraction and hatred mix together.
  • Species: Disregards non-wolves; they aren't important, so he is neutral toward them.
  • Non-Luperci: Weak.
  • Age: Old people (like grandma Misery) creep him out. He is equally afraid of puppies.

Sexuality

  • Fetishizes white wolves
  • Incest is best
  • Kinsey 2 Bisexual

Interests

  • Likes: Hope, fire and sacrifice, leather-making, dying, fighting
  • Dislikes: White wolves, his horse, socializing, new things

Substances

  • Generally little interest in substances for recreational use.
  • Might seek hallucinogens to see visions of Tak.
  • Fire is a pretty mean drunk.

Spirituality

Fire follows the religion of the Khalif. He belongs to the dark god, Tak, a cruel deity that rules over night and sin. He believes he hears Tak's voice and that he is a warrior of Tak, meant to purge the world of white wolves -- who belong to Tak's enemy, Ankh. At the same time, however, Fire's beloved sister Hope has been "chosen" by Ankh; Fire fears what this means for their relationship. Accepting that he belongs to the dark god, at a young age Fire accepted that he cannot be "saved." It's possible that, if he believed he could, he would seek to reconcile with Ankh. Until then, he serves Tak to keep his god's hunger at bay.

3.  Relationships

* Does not know this person by name.

3.1  Family

  • Extended: See the D'Angelo family. Thanks to his prolific grandmother, Misery D'Angelo, Fire does not want for aunts, uncles, and cousins in Khalif. He is also related to a good portion of D'Angelos in Nova Scotia, if distantly.

3.2  Relations

Key Relations

  • Hope D'Angelo: Fire's sister, a wolf of Ankh and the only one kind to him; she is trying to "save" him. He harbors a very deep infatuation for Hope, and wishes to take her to wife. His love for her is genuine but obsessional, and only Hope can keep his temper in check. He believes that it would be a grievous sin for them to come together, and is shocked that Misery gave her "blessing," for what it was worth.

Positive Relations

  • Characters is also your character's buddy-old-pal-old-friend-of-mine

Neutral / Negative

  • Victory D'Angelo: He hates his brother, but at the same time seems to exhibit signs of either wanting to sleep with him....or skin him alive and wear him as a cloak, depending on his mood.
  • Bane D'Angelo: Fire is neutral toward his dark sister. Their kinship amounts to being hated by their father, Anguish, but Bane spent more time with Misery than their family.

5.  History

Fire D'Angelo was born to Anguish D'Angelo and Prophet D'Angelo in Khalif. His father made an attempt on his life when he was young due to his black fur, which resentment to grow. He evolved into what others saw him as -- a monster, at least to all but Hope D'Angelo, his kindly sister. The girl began bleaching his hands to "save" him in hopes of turning his fur white. Meanwhile, Fire picked up on various trades in his community -- fighting, leatherworking, and dyeing became his pursuits.

Shortly after his sister, Bane, was sent away from the Mountain for her own safety, Misery D'Angelo gave Fire a similar mission. Sent to serve Bane in Misery's purpose in Nova Scotia, Fire brought his sister Hope with him and traveled toward Salsola.
