1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

  • Species: Edi is a jackal hybrid. Although she is a quarter dog, this heritage does not show clearly on her features except for perhaps her fur, which bears whiter patches than a purebred jackal would usually have.
  • Fur: Sparse, coarse fur better suited to hot than cold temperatures. Her longest hairs are along her spine and between ber shoulderblades, as well as on her tail.
    • Optime Hair: Long, silky, and utterly unkempt. Edrei might cut it now and again, but otherwise lets it be completley.
  • Facial Features: Edrei has a long, lanky face. Perhaps one of the few places her doggish heritage truly shines is the shape of her face and jaw. Thanks to her mastiff heritage, she has a slightly more square-shaped, broad head than most jackals. Though the difference in appearance is only slight, the increase in bite power is most definitely not.
  • Build and Size: She has all the petite appearance and size of a jackal. She is shorter than most, regardless of form. Nonetheless -- Edrei is solid muscle. Her figure has gentle, slight curves -- nothing about her is exaggerated. She is not bulky, nor especially curvy. Rather unremarkable, her strength tends to surprise other canines again and again.
  • Humanization: Moderate.

Coloration

  • Fur:
    • Most of her fur is a pale, creamy Bison Hide.
    • Her dorsal half is a darker, grayer Gurkha.
  • Markings:
    • Her muzzle, cheeks, throat, and belly are a pale white Moon Mist.
    • Dune decorates her muzzle, beneath her eyes, the tips of her ears, her spine and shoulders, a patch on her tail, the tip of her tail, and each of her paws.
    • Her darkest color, Cod Grey, decorates her extremities and is entirely surrounded by the Dune grey color where it occurs: the edge of her muzzle before her nose, the very tips of her ears, the very tip of her tail, her shoulderblades.
  • Eyes: Her eyes are a deep raspberry, Tawny Port, in coloration. Very large in her skull, they are extremely expressive.
  • Optime Hair: Her Optime hair is a combination of grays: Gurkha, Dune, Cod Grey. All three are streaked through her hair wildly, adding to its already wild look.

Modifications

  • Scars: Most of Edrei's scars are purposefully inflicted as scarification. They are raised and red, evidence o the number of times Edrei has been cut here.
    • (Scarification) Small, 2 inches slashes, 3 perpendicular to and along her collarbone
    • (Scarification) 3 thin and closely set lines around her muzzle, close to her lip. They run from lip to lip.
    • (Scarification) Along her back between her shoulderblades, 3 scars perpendicular to her spine
    • (Unintentional) A pair of jagged slashes along her hip. She favors her right leg slight thanks to the depth of these wounds.
  • Piercings: Both ears pierced -- once in the lower lobe. Favors tiny, jagged pieces of bone secured with bits of metal.

Edi is somewhat humanized. She generally wraps her hair back in a simple, long scrap of tattered gray or black fabric. She may wear clothes, though they are almost always simply cut and functional.

2.  Personality

  • Not quite outspoken, not quite reserved. Edrei knows when to speak and when to shut her mouth. She adapts to the needs of the situation.
  • There is little she won't do for her own survival. While she does have a healthy respect for the law and order of the world as well as loyalty to those she considers friends, she will readily save her own skin first.

2.1  ESTP

  • Blunt, straight-forward risk-takers, they are willing to plunge right into things and get their hands dirty. They live in the here-and-now, and place little importance on introspection or theory. The look at the facts of a situation, quickly decide what should be done, execute the action, and move on to the next thing.
  • ESTPs have an uncanny ability to perceive people's attitudes and motivations. They pick up on little cues which go completely unnoticed by most other types, such as facial expressions and stance. Key Relations

  • Her oldest half-brother, Seda, is a bastard. Berke conceived and birthed before Altai was able, so her father basically disowned him. Though Seda is allowed to stay in the house and treated well by the family, he is inordinately surly about things and is not a bright personality in the least.
  • Her father Davut is a slave trader, and as a result her family extremely wealthy. He is a polygamist and keeps multiple wives -- though Edrei's mother, Altai, is his first and dominant within the household. Only she takes his surname.
  • Her mother Altai is powerful and well-respected, both within the family's compound and beyond. She owns the household absolutely, and Davut's other wives go in fear of her. Her children -- specifically her only son Torel -- are clearly favored in Davut's eyes.
  • Berke and Aytac are Davut's other wives. Though they have born him more sons, he still favors Altai. They are bitter over this, but both think they can win his affection and place at the head of the family. Aytac is young and was only recently added to the roster of Davut's wives. She is very beautiful.
  • Sevet is Edrei's older sister. She was married out of the family relatively young; Edrei's only memories of her are playing on the floor in the house at a young age.
  • Torel is Edrei's older brother. Favored by Davut as his eldest son (despite Seda's existence), Torel is arrogant and spoiled. He bullies his half-siblings more than he favors them, though he treats his whole-blooded sisters well enough.
  • Tankut is Edrei's littermate. Small, introverted, mousy -- she is Edrei's opposite.
  • Mehmet and Terem are Edrei's younger half-brothers, born to his new, young wife Aytac. Edrei did not know them well; she left before they had time to grow up.
  • Yorma is Edrei's older sister. Edrei did not know Yorma; she died young after several illnesses.
  • Gizem is Edrei's older half-brother. Gizem is roughly Edrei's age -- a few months older -- and they were very close in youth. As they grew older, Altai began to pull Edrei away from Gizem, instilling in Edrei the importance of not too closely associating with her half-brother and the differences in their blood. They nonetheless ran away together to Rome and eventually North America. Gizem died on the journey, however.

Physical Strength

  • Education and Learning: Edrei is naturally strong, thanks primarily to her build. She doesn't really train or work to better herself, however, and could be a lot stronger.

  • Edrei does not train or better herself; she is primarily raw strength, with only natural talent.

Timeline

  • 2011: Born in Istanbul. Edrei grows up among a large family full of tons of drama.
  • 2012: Having grown up amidst the drama and turmoil of her family (someone was always plotting against someone else) and angry with her mother for separating her from Gizem, Edrei departs on a trade ship -- with Gizem. They wind up in Rome with virtually nothing save a few things they stole from their family. Gizem, although homesick, steals to keep them fed. Edrei plies her womanly trade for further goods, though not for long -- Gizem soon captures a runaway slave and is rewarded with the slave. They start a brothel.
  • 2013: Although their brother trade is well enough, they are among a minority of jackals in the city. They are treated poorly throughout their time here, though it culminates violently. After each of them is robbed in turn, the brothel closes. Edrei recovers slowly, and the pair decide to head further west, abandoning Rome. During their preparations to do so, by chance they encounter their older brother Seda in the same city. Delighted to have his presence, the trio decide to head overseas.
  • 2014: Edrei, Gizem, and Seda get on a ship. They trade virtually everything and agree to work on the ship's oars for their passage. Gizem dies on the voyage, leaving Edrei and Seda alone. The pair landed in Freetown after a long, mournful journey. They come north after a run-in with a wolf; with her time in Rome fresh on her mind, Edrei has no interest in sticking around Freetown long. Seda follows her.
