Clementine Salcedo is a hybrid raised alongside her siblings, Baltasar , Lyra , and Magnus Salcedo in Salsola's Portland Outpost. Her parents are Lilia Salcedo and Indra Winters, both veterans of the Inferni/Salsolan war who've pledged their swords to the Thistle Kingdom.
Shaped at a young age by both her parents' desires and the untimely death of her brother, Magnus (with whom she was very close), her departure from Fort Preble was a hasty retreat from the traumatic event. As her grief has waned to a bitter acceptance, in its wake came a growing, ravenous ambition: to defend her family (and her siblings in particular) as well as her own interests, it became clear that she would have to climb as high as possible.
Very quickly, her goals bore fruit: in addition to holding the Mercante job, she was named The Partisan shortly after her second birthday and is now the public face of her pack in addition to being the head of her family.
This was not without struggle, however. Almost immediately upon joining the secretive pack, she struck up a friendship with its militia head, Brocade Valentine, but made an enemy of his niece Symre Rask. This resulted in the older girl leaving odd occult symbols for Clementine to find and other, more generalized forms of harassment. This culminated in an early-Autumn usurpation, wherein Clementine proved once more that taking what you want is the surest way of achieving what you want in life.
In the 2020 Yearbook, Clementine was awarded the 'Most Likely to Sleep With the Boss For a Promotion' superlative.

Plot Opportunities |
Clementine is the behind-the-scenes benefactress of La Estrella Roja, which is (unbeknownst to her) run by her cousins, Calrian and Malik Amaranthe. Perhaps your character objects to the sort of business that goes on there, or they assume (rightfully) that she's the perfectly 'wealthy' sort of target to rob. In addition to her so-called business ventures, Clementine does take part in quite a lot of trade... both underhanded and above-board. Does your character need something? Clem's your girl. As Salsola's primary diplomat, she's more than capable of settling disputes and mending ruffled feathers. Perhaps you've heard a certain song that seems to describe her... |
Overview
Long-legged and lithe, Clementine effuses a certain fatalistic beauty not unlike the others of the Eternity family into which she has been adopted. Highly humanized thanks to both her upbringing and the overall culture of her pack, her posture is that of an upright patrician. Her hair, which is voluminous in its abundance, is most often pulled up in hasty buns or stabbed through with pins, drawing attention to her otherwise long, pale neck.
Pretty in a way that is reminiscent of her "grandmother" Osrath Eternity, but she resents the comparison.
Will wear clothing and jewelry and is uncomfortable without it, though she can and will. Her face combines the Salcedo line's large but narrow, slender eyes with the angular facial features of the Revlis family, and lends Clementine a rather exotic look; chronic sufferer of 'resting bitch face' because of this.
Smaller than most wolves, but bulkier—around her shoulders, at least—than most dogs, Clementine's hybridization is very obvious. Sports what has become known as a ballerina build; a long neck, medium length torso, as well as long legs and arms. More suited to tasks of endurance or agility as opposed to brute strength.

Adornments
Born into a highly humanized and 'wealthy' family, Clementine does not break the mold in this regard. She favors—for the moment—anything that is pure white, ivory, or of a similar shade, though she values anything that is skillfully made. Although unafraid to get dirty literally or metaphorically, she incredibly clean, and takes great care to keep everything she owns immaculate. When visiting foreign dignitaries or packs, she often makes a great show of her wealth, wearing items she otherwise may not when in Salsola proper.

2.1 Summary
Clementine shifts easily—like smoke—from ambitious, to covetous, to delicate, often from one word to the next. A silver-tongued devil, she alternates between speaking concisely and practically with confidants or friends, and a richly detailed vocabulary that showcases not only her intelligence, but her status as someone of relatively 'high' birth. Often experiences shifting personal loyalties, but the bedrock of her personality and desires is rooted in the continuation and prosperity of herself and her family. Beneath a rich and artfully crafted veneer mask of high spirits and a penchant for drama lies a surprisingly pragmatic, even blasé personal self that she keeps hidden for the sake of forging business and political relations. Outside of a few trusted family members or the occasional slip-up, it's unlikely that one would ever know that she possesses the ability to completely detach herself. This does, however, make her a skilled trader who is uncompromised by a strangers' personal woes. Brutally efficient when on the hunt for a better deal, she frequently undercuts others to their detriment. |
2.2 Traits
|
Interests
- Likes: Public speaking, writing, hunting, horseback riding, intellectual arguments, punctuality.
- Dislikes: Solitude, anti-intellectualism, alcohol (and alcoholics), being manipulated, flattery, and unwarranted comparisons to relatives (particularly her "grandmother" Osrath).
Fears and Motivations
- Fears: Following the death of her brother, Clementine now fears deep water, specifically water she cannot see the bottom of.
- Values: Respect (given and received), the safety of her siblings, the growth and prosperity of her family.
Sexuality
Clementine is sexually attracted to men, but has—and will continue to have—flirtations with women, so while she's almost certainly heterosexual, she has strong biromantic tendencies. Due to her own parents being in a long-term homosexual relationship, she sometimes feels conflicted over her sexuality due to a need to emulate (what she thinks is) a harmonic relationship.
Though no one could ever call her forward, if Clementine suspects her romantic feelings are reciprocated she isn't afraid to make the first move, especially if the person in question tends to be on the shy side. In a relationship she values equanimity, and is neither dominant nor submissive.
Vices
- Biases: Clementine adheres strictly to Salsola's cultural biases and considers non-luperci to be advocates for hostility against the growth of their own species. Without exception, she keeps any personal opinions that differ from the public norm to herself.
- Substances: Strictly a social drinker, Clementine nonetheless tends to overindulge or underestimate her tolerance, especially when strange drink is involved. Prefers whiskey, brandy, and beer, and frequently trades away both cider and wine to obtain them.
Motivation(s)
Her family, particularly the well-being of her siblings, Baltasar and Lyra, are her number one motivation. This becomes increasing obvious following the untimely and unexpected loss of her brother, Magnus. Though not particularly violent, she would absolutely use every measure within Salsola's law to destroy anything or anyone that she thought was a danger to her nuclear family.
Salsola and it's future are an afterthought compared to her siblings.
Spirituality
More spiritual than religious, Clementine subscribes to Onuba's system of faith, The Lantern, with a considerable amount of thought given to the Coisricthe religion. She knows about Khalifism and some about monotheistic beliefs, such as the wolves of Boreas.
- Mothers: Lilia Salcedo (biological) and Indra Winters
- Biological Father: Bacchus Revlis
- Siblings: Baltasar, Lyra, and
Magnus Salcedo - Half-Siblings:
- via Bacchus Revlis: Odalis *, Lucian *, and Solomon *
- Extended Family: Clementine belongs the d'Angelo, Kimaris, Lykoi, Revlis, Rhiannon, and Salcedo families; as such, many of their members are directly and indirectly related to her.
- Grandparents: Salvador Salcedo, Emiliana Olmos, Larkkin Star Revlis, Hawthorn
- Cousins: Elphaba Revlis, Rhaegar Salcedo, Casimir Soul, Nymeria Soul, Calrian *, Malik *, Krios Heiwa, Velour Valentine, Tattersall Valentine, Taffetta Valentine
- Uncles & Aunts: Mateo Salcedo, Maribel Salcedo, Rita Salcedo, Laufey Revlis, Morgana Revlis, Jezebel Revlis
- Great Uncles: Rafael Salcedo, Lokr Revlis
- Great Aunts: Lily Storm Revlis,
Lilia Salcedo
- Lilia Salcedo: Lilia is the role model from whom she took her exuberance for life, though Clementine does not effuse the woman's calmness. There is no lack of love between them, though Clementine's needlessly sharp tongue and penchant for manipulation—and bullying—marks a sharp contrast between them.
- Indra Winters: Much to their mutual disappointment, Clem lacks either the incentive or passion for violence that Indra so adores. With this in mind, they regard each other with as much fondness as possible, accepting each other for their perceived flaws (on both sides) and taking what is given without abhorrence or disappointment.
- Baltasar Salcedo: They needle each other endlessly—usually at her instigation, for she feels she cannot give up opportunity—over his lack of drive or initiative, while he in turn is always quick to remark that she is overly enterprising and false.
- Lyra Salcedo: Her brutally cold and endlessly efficient sister, Clementine greatly values Lyra for the way in which she interacts with the world; a transaction in which she rarely comes into the picture, a sum of parts in which (much to Clementine's personal amusement) others often come up short. Their relationship is not uncolored by a sense of rivalry, however.
- Magnus Salcedo: Her best friend until the end of his days, which came far too soon for the both of them. Always eager to get into (and out of trouble) they often made a ruckus along Portland's seaside, and were rarely seen without one another. This closeness is undoubtedly what led him to try and save her from the icy lake she fell through during her youth.
Key Relationships
- Her 'aunt', Elphaba Revlis took her in as her ward initially, though they eventually developed something of a mentor-mentee relationship. Though she fears the depths of her ruthlessness—having witnessed it firsthand at both Delfina’s trial and during the Curse of the Sanctum—she does not respect her.
- Brocade Valentine is something of a pseudo-uncle/father figure in her life, and through his marriage to her aunt, will eventually become father to her cousins. They're very friendly, and Clementine considers him a confidante of sorts... though there are limits to what she'd tell him.
- Her aunt by blood, Morgana Revlis and Clementine are fairly similar in the way that they approach life. There is always something to gain; they are friendly, but wary due to these aforementioned similarities. Clem recognizes her as being dangerous, and assumes her aunt believes the same of her.
- Unbeknownst (but perhaps suspected) to her, Odalis Amaranthe is her half-sister, but also the personal slave of her aunt, Elphaba. They have a complicated relationship; though she has tentatively agreed to help the woman escape, the servant desperately vies for her freedom and tests Salsola's boundaries at every turn, but Clementine (who is, by helping her, comitting treason) urges caution.
- By some fluke of fate, Clementine has found a nemesis in Symre Rask, Brocade’s niece. Though of a similar age, the girls failed to get along from the start, and after multiple barbed words and a usurpation, are now plotting each other’s demise; one through witchcraft and curses, and the other through politics and subterfuge…
- Evelyn de le Ulrich may have met Clementine completely by chance, but they've become quite friendly over time, with Clem recognizing some more-than-friendly glances that she politely ignores. For whatever reason, she has seen fit to help the slightly younger girl achieve her goals, though to what end is anyone's guess.
- A fellow member of the Merchant tier, what made Sanguine Valentine stand apart from his siblings—for better or worse—made Clementine take an interest, though it’s currently a business relationship built on the foundation of mutual interest and the fact that she desires a quasi-ally in her vocational tier.
- Calrian Amaranthe: This entrepreneurial spirit is—unbeknownst to her—a cousin on their shared Revlis side; though she harbored some childish feelings for him in her youth, as she has grown so too has their relationship… especially where business is concerned. When it became clear to her that he meant to establish a business of sorts in Drifter Bay, she took a keen interest, and she directs business to La Estrella Roja… for a modest price, of course.
- Jethro Lykoi: Unsurprisingly, Clementine believes that Jethro dislikes her; why would he, when she so obviously seems to pity him? The reasoning for this is unclear, though it could be assumed that she feels he is ‘destitute’ or otherwise failing in some way to provide for himself… and it’s not as if her so-called charity towards him came without a cost. Unlike most members of the Troupe, Clementine believes that he is suspicious of her comings and goings.
Key: Dabbler → Apprentice → Journeyman → Master
Main Focus: Political Mastermind
Diplomacy — Journeyman
The most notable of her family lines—Salcedo and Revlis in particular—have excelled in areas involving trade and guile, and Clementine is no exception. In addition to her innate talent, a formal education at the hands of her aunt, Salsola's boss, honed these skills to a sharp and deadly edge.
Charisma (Journeyman):
- Natural charisma oozes off Clementine like honey, and she wields it at will, whether this be smooth lines or comments with a cutting edge.
Multilinguism (Journeyman):
Debate (Journeyman):
- Noted for her silver tongue and sharp mind, Clementine rarely misses a beat; coupled with a near-photographic memory and attention for detail, very little escapes her.
Merchantry — Journeyman

Auxiliary Skills and Hobbies — Variable
General (Variable):
Like almost all of her species, Clementine is more than capable of hunting in her feral form, and knows a few words of low speech.
- It's worth noting, however, that she is a particularly poor combatant in her optime form.
Equestrianship (Apprentice):
Proper horseback riding lessons with her mothers began only days after she shifted, but long before that she watched them feed and care for their personal mounts. While not particularly talented, Clementine is a capable rider of completely ordinary ability.
Bird-Care (Apprentice):

- Layout: Link
- Though relatively small – with a downstairs capable of fitting only a table and chairs comfortably – and somewhat Frankenstein-esque in build, having seen some additions at various points throughout the age of humanity, it has likely been overlooked for exactly this reason.
- The upstairs is spacious, with many windows (now devoid of glass following The Red Starfall) and therefore an abundance of natural light. Private due to the many old-growth trees that ring the small property while maintaining a central location within the Ruins themselves, recent additions include a firepit and woodcutters block.
- Shortly after moving in she began drafting plans for a courtyard to be added.
- Species: High-content Andalusian
- Age and DOB: 3.5 years / March 12th, 2016
- Description: Pure white.
- Gear includes a black leather bridle with copper pieces, which once belonged to her mother's mother, Osrath Eternity. A plush, black blanket padded with fur serves as a saddle.
- Personality: For reasons unknown, Fingal is a mean horse; despite being gelded, he dislikes other horses — particularly stallions — and will frequently bite even familiar Luperci. Clementine is perhaps the single exception to this rule, and only because she knows he's a mean bastard. Loves to run more than anything else in the world, and is fond of carrots.
- Skills:
- Was trained briefly by Osrath Eternity, and was involved in her program to train warhorses. He is desensitized to blood and spooking, but not strong enough to carry an armed rider.
- Shows great promise as a horse intended for swift travel or delivering messages.
- Species: Common Raven
- Age and DOB: 5.5 years / March 3rd, 2014
- Description: Black, but clearly experienced some abuse — malnutrition especially — and requires some attention. Nonetheless large due to his captivity.
- Personality: A fast and agile flier, Aberdeen is a preener who comes off as arrogant or even presumptuous. He is nonetheless very food motivated, and expects to be rewarded for, well, just about everything.
- Skills:
- Has been trained to deliver and otherwise carry messages, but is easily confused when it comes to new recipients/locations and must meet them first.

I. An Idyllic Youth Interrupted
A spirited youth raised in Salsola’s Portland outpost during her formative months, much of Clementine’s time — and, by extension, her siblings’ — was spent causing minor mischief along the seaside, with Clem often acting as the group’s defacto ringleader. It was during this time that she also began learning some small skills, either by watching her parents or bothering others.
It was during her first winter that tragedy struck the Salcedo-Winters family. During a routine adventure with her littermate, Magnus, Clem fell through the ice of a nearby pond, nearly drowning. The stress of the situation forced her brother to shift, enabling him to save her at the cost of his own life. This, along with the departure of childhood friends (most notably Aurelion and his sister Wisteria) led to grief and depression, ultimately resulting in her mothers agreeing it would be beneficial for her to leave the Outpost for Salsola.
After being formally accepted by her 'aunt', Elphaba, the redhead became something of a ward to the older Revlis woman, as well as apprenticing underneath her in areas such as scholarship, manipulation, and other subjects.
II. Rising Ambitions
During the spring and summer months, Clementine spent much of her newfound freedom exploring not only Salsola, but the lands surrounding it, making only very infrequent trips back to Portland to see her family. During this time she rose fairly quickly through the ranks of her pack, swiftly entering the central ring and a place of relative trust. It was during mid-to-late summer that she discovered her uncle, Lilia’s brother, was a member of a local loner band, The Troupe, and began visiting them semi-frequently.
Due perhaps to the influence of her biological aunt, Morgana, it came as little surprise when she put her social skills to use and made it clear that her path forward would be as a merchant and ambassador, earning her the job of Mercante in early fall. It was around this time that Clem also made it known the lengths to which she was willing to go for status, for after a discussion with her friend — and the pack’s Director – Brocade that she usurped his niece, joining the elite upper class as an Arbiter.
Not long after, her mother came to Salsola to scold her for this, and made it clear she intended to stay.
