Basics

Catharsis is a large guy, inheriting the physical traits of his wolf side more openly. He's tall and muscled with a reddish coat and large paws. Catharsis' Optime hair is either in a long braid down his back or dark and streaked over his shoulders and back. He doesn't much care about how others view him, so he doesn't preen. Ever.

When switching down to more feral forms, Catharsis is bulky and well-toned. He has strength on his side, but not stamina. All that weight makes him heavy and slows him down.

FUN FACT: Catharsis suffered a severe beating when he was a child, causing nerve damage in his face. This caused his facial expression to always be not quite what it should be. He struggles to communicate his feelings with his face, and instead relies on body language.

He is exceptionally strong for his build, especially when he is upset. This might surprise people.

Expression

• Outlook:
  • Ambitious: Catharsis is always seeking a way to move up in the world, to find a way to matter to others. He begins to fold in on himself if he doesn't make ripples that affect others.
• Sociability:
  • Unforthcoming: He doesn't say anything he doesn't need to, and very rarely talks out of turn. He barely answers questions he doesn't want to answer.
  • Has a slight mumble to his speech, due to the nerve damage in his face.
• Expression:
  • Quiet Violent Type: Typically, Catharsis is more of a quiet, brooding type. He doesn't speak unless he needs to, and doesn't act until it's time.
  • Dominant: It makes Catharsis extremely uncomfortable when he's told what to do and expected to listen. He is a dominant sort of figure, and doesn't take kindly to being ordered around by others he doesn't deem as important as himself.

Fears

• Black wolves make him very uncomfortable.
• The thought of death or the end reminds him of being tossed into a deep grave as a kid, forced to feed off of the rotting bodies in it if he were hungry.
• His father, Izual Massacre, was always considered a wild card to him. Unpredictable, unlovable, unable to be idolized. Catharsis wanted to look up to him, to give him a chance, but Izual's behavior made Catharsis extra wary of him and in turn, he could never get comfortable with any aspect of getting close to his father. All the way up until Izual's death, Catharsis kept his fear for his father at a low simmer, which would heighten the closer his father got to him.
  • This was the reason Catharsis left his family unit at the earliest convenience and went to live on his own.
• His mother, Charletter-Ebony Leishman, was as unpredictable as the direction of the wind. There's this inner hate for her that he can't describe in words... but he has this drive to one day get her back for all the pain she has caused him. For now, he stays as far away as he can from her; being in her presence would probably cause him a manic episode.

Triggers

• Large amounts of blood set him off, throwing him into a violent episode. Seeing the blood reminds him of his childhood and all the messed up shit he's seen, and he just loses it.

Sexuality

Heterosexual — Catharsis isn't terribly interested in sex; he's looking more for a 'relationship'. When in the presence of something pretty, he seeks to make her his rather than pursue sex right away. When someone is his, he has power over them and can control them and get whatever he wants out of them then. Relationships with Catharsis are violent and cruel. He doesn't know how to love, he doesn't know what's normal, and he certainly doesn't know how to treat a companion 'right'.

Spirituality

Atheist — Catharsis doesn't believe in the existence of any divine beings.

Substances

Catharsis indulges during downtime or on whatever he deems as a 'special occasion'. He likes to smoke cigarettes and usually has one tucked behind his ear. He uses them as a way to calm down when feeling the pressure in some certain situations.

Strengths

• Ingenuity (Journeyman): Catharsis tries to always think in new ways and outside of the box. Living on his own, he picked up on this from having to survive, learn how to do so on his own, and relearn what it was like not having to look over his shoulder all the time.
• Craftsmanship (Journeyman): It started with making sculptures out of mud for downtime, but evolved into making his own custom weapons. At first, it was just for him to survive out on his own, but then as he got better at it, he realized he could trade and barter for them to get other valuable items he can use for himself.
• Physical Strength (Accomplished): With his size and body mass alone, he's one of the strongest of his siblings and takes after his father in a lot of ways like this. When fueled by adrenaline and rage, he's close to unstoppable in many aspects.

Weaknesses

• Heavy & Slow: Because of his bulky build, Catharsis tends to be heavy and slow and tire out easily when moving fast.
• Can't Swim: Trying to keep himself afloat tires him out quickly, and he never quite saw the point in struggling to learn when he was a land animal anyway.
• Short-Tempered: Stability has a very fragile existence in his mind. Anger, frustration, stress, and irritation can easily set him off and send him over the deep end, resulting in a violent rage, attack, or episode.
