Aedan was a member of Salsola and mate to Wisteria , he is the father of Alistair , Syringa , and Delphine. He has a fourth child in Dagr Soul but was unaware of the boy's survival.

In 2014 he was asked to head a trade outpost near Freetown for Salsola alongside his mate, daughter, and step-daughter. The outpost fell into ruin after a meteor impact in which Wisteria lost her life. The outpost was forced to move south into Portland.

In the winter of 2016 Aedan met a mysterious end. Orchestrated by his daughter and carried out by his bastard their involvement has yet to be discovered...but time is not so forgiving and a malevolent soul gains power only in the waiting.

OOC Assumptions

  • Family only! (And those with a deep emotional connection)
  • Can be sensed by those with inclinations toward the paranormal (but not interacted with)

1.  Appearance

In life, Aedan was a timber wolf of high stature, lean steely musculature, and vivid eyes. Scars marred his dilute gold pelt and defined his features which became gaunt with the passage of time. In death, his visage varies.

Over the months and with the change of seasons he has been building his strength, saving his energy for a singular defining purpose. At times he manifests as a disembodied voice calling out in the deep dark of the witching hour: others, a pair of icy blue eyes projecting their own otherworldly light. When he is strong but not yet capable of a full apparition he pulls upon the moisture in the air and soil coalescing it into a silhouette.

Fully realized, Aedan appears as a slightly ethereal corpse. His neck lolls grotesquely from the point it was broken, unsteady and swaying on his shoulders. His eyes are not eyes at all but projections of blue light out of deep hollow sockets. Surrounding him is an aura of malice and a feeling of bitter cold.

3.  Relationships

3.1  Family: de Valence

3.2  Relations

Family Relations

  • Syringa : Easily the closest person to him in life Syringa was the favored of two daughters. Not for any remarkable reason, rather Aedan saw Syringa's potential as a future bride and mother. He groomed her specifically for this purpose often at the expense of Delphine whom he viewed as headstrong and deeply independent, like himself. Along with these teachings he mixed in other practical knowledge as well: hunting, self-defense, and trade. All useful skills for when she could be returned to society.
    • He fell out with her in 2016 after he expressed concerns (however violently) about her gypsy lover, whom he viewed a poor match. In retaliation, Syringa had him killed.
  • Wisteria : His late wife and aunt to Salvia Eternity. She was the one who recruited him into Salsola. Aedan, despite all appearances, did not love her though he developed something akin to affection and even respect for her later on. He saw her as a means to an end, and Wisteria had no delusions that there was anything deeper. She used him as much as he used her, gaining two daughters from him in her last litter. She was happy to bear his children and through them cemented a deeper bond with her husband.
    • She was crushed to death in 2016 during the fall of the red star, however her children didn't come to know about it until months later.
  • Delphine: Aloof and cold like himself, Aedan greatly valued his daughter's worth and independence. And in doing so all but shunned her. It was his belief that coddling and doting on her would foul her character and with his indifference breed success. Delphine, however ambitious, came to resent his cold-shoulder parenting and blamed her sister for stealing his affections away from her. She became ever more cold and distant over time, embittered by her family's move to the outpost when she was still young. When she returned much later she was still resentful and failed to reconnect despite Aedan's efforts to improve her education.
  • Odessa : Aedan thought very little of his step-daughter. A sweet girl, but unambititious Aedan saw her as the "typical" woman: soft-headed and without conviction, good for breeding and nurturing but nothing else. Further, he disapproved of her dog husband and often insulted him in her presence.
  • Alistair Callow: A bastard and a dog no less Alistair he viewed as a stain on his good name. Aedan had no knowledge of his son's existance until years after his birth. Once discovered Aedan made it his purpose to find the boy and put him to use. Assuming the guise of the aggrieved, long-lost father Aedan infiltrated Alistair's pack in order to steal information and prove himself to Salsola. It went wrong, however, when Alistair's wife caught him stealing. She was nearly killed in the altercation and later Alistair once he'd learned of Aedan's treachery.
  • In the winter of 2016, Alistair (acting on Syringa's information) ambushed him on the road leading to Portland's outpost. He made quick work of it, catching him unawares and snapping his neck.

Positive Relations

  • Palaydrian Soul: Aedan's relationship to Palaydrian was as close to love as his shriveled heart could feel. He made a mockery of her emotions through lies culminating in the murder of their unborn children. Only Dagr survived the nefarious plot beyond his father's knowledge.
    • Theirs was a long and long-distance affair spanning time and two packs: Salsola and Vinátta, during which Aedan not only ravaged her mind but took her body without her knowledge in a drug-induced haze.
