Muddy (NPC of [[Characters/Shiloh Dawnbringer]])

Muddy is a sweet, mute tortoiseshell cat belonging to Shiloh Dawnbringer. With Wilson, she is mother to two litters of kittens (one born in Vinátta and one in Cour des Miracles).

1.  Appearance

Muddy is a stocky tortoiseshell with very dark fur. She appears predominantly black, but there are flecks of ginger in her fur, especially apparent on her throat and her distinctly mottled face. Her eyes are a very rich yellow.

2.  Personality

In contrast with Wilson, Muddy is a typical cat. She is playful and affectionate -- on her own terms; she avoids Luperci she doesn't know. She makes friends quickly with patient Luperci who respect her boundaries, and she is very outgoing and affectionate with other cats. She has a powerful maternal streak and is gentle with children and injured animals. She is aggressive and defensive against non-canine predators, including birds of prey, bobcats, and foxes -- regardless of whether they belong to someone!

Muddy is mute likely by choice. She is capable of purring to comfort infants and hissing when under extreme duress, but she refuses to meow. Awkward, wide-eyed staring is her usual means of communication. Her understanding of High Speech is only rudimentary; she knows her name and simple commands, as well as tone of voice, not unlike a "typical" pet cat.

2.1  Skills & Abilities Muddy is an exceptionally good hunter and can often be found catching songbirds. She brings kills to Luperci often, and she's dropped a dead mouse on a sleeping Shiloh's face on more than one occasion! She is very nurturing and acts as a good nurse. She's nursed an injured Wilson back to health and has literally nursed an orphaned newborn wolf puppy before, as well. Her gentle and motherly nature makes her good at taking care of children, feline or canine.

2.2  Likes & Dislikes Likes Shiloh, her family, and Wilson. Likes children of the canine and feline variety. Likes most other cats in and has made it her goal to befriend them all! Dislikes threatening predators such as foxes, bobcats, and raptors. Dislikes being held or approached by those she doesn't know.

3.  History

• Muddy lived her early life as a typical feral cat with the occasional Luperci interaction.
• She was caught up in the 2012 hurricane and rescued by Shiloh Dawnbringer and Niernan Stormbringer. She was adopted into Shiloh's household and quickly befriended her.
• In November 2012, Muddy found an injured Wilson in the snow. She helped to nurse him back to health, hunting for and grooming him as well as keeping him company. Despite their differences (a mute "pet" and a High-speaking, intelligent tomcat) they became fast friends.
• A pregnant Muddy helped nurse a baby Jack Taylor until he and his guardian left the pack. She gave birth to Wilson's kittens -- Aysun, Aiden, Bygul, and Thofnir -- in April.
• Muddy proved that she was a good mother as she dealt with her kittens and a pregnant Shiloh. Each of her children found homes, but she wasn't distressed. She seemed more than capable of taking care of the deaf Aysun. She watched over both Shiloh's litters though has not had another of her own.
• When Shiloh decided to join Cour des Miracles in 2015, Muddy came along and quickly bonded to Pascal Sadira, for whom she acted almost as a therapy animal.
• In April 2016, after vanishing during the meteor event, Muddy gave birth to a new litter of kittens.
