Marik D'Angelo is the son of Khalifa D'Angelo and June Belgrave, born abroad in the Salsolan Outpost of Portland.
His father, having made several trips back and forth between the sea-side city and the Thistle Kingdom, decided to settle down in Ft. Preble for a time and assist in the pack's trade efforts. There, he made the acquaintance of an quiet, yet intriguing socialite, June, who was all the more interesting to the D'Angelo because of her powerful father, Solomon the Salamander. It took him very little time at all to hatch a plan, seeing June as an easy opportunity to get his foot in the door with the prolific smuggler; and, after a concerted effort of courting June, Khalifa asked for her hand in marriage.
Very soon after, he solidified his place in the Belgrave family, bearing four children by June — Marik, Arkana D'Angelo, Evander Belgrave, and Farron Belgrave — and while the latter remain in Ft. Preble with their parents, Marik has forged on ahead and returned to Salsola proper, his "true" home, dragging along his father's wayward servant, Polymorph Prismshard, in tow.
After being ushered into the pack, he quickly found a gullible lackey in the oblivious Marina Amaranthe, and he has been leaning on her kindness more heavily as he has since lost his servant to Egregore Prizmov in what he believes was a grand coincidence, unaware that his fellow Salsolan had planned from the start to stage a robbery and cast himself as the hero and requiring a vast debt from the young D'Angelo son.
