DOB

~2006

Pronounced

fah-RAI

Meaning

rejoice, Shona

Description

Farai is a small donkey, standing 9.2 hands (36.8 in / 93 cm). He is a little bit round at the waist, just slightly overweight for his height. He is Zorba (#A09893) gray in coloration with a lighter Tide (#C0B9B4) underbelly. He is a stereotypical ass, excepting his "primitive" dorsal stripe. He has a strange tribal brand on his left hindquarters; it was tattooed over with Peanut (#7E3217) coloration. Myrika does not know how Farai came by this brand.

About

He is generally even-tempered, if somewhat stubborn. Farai has the quintessential donkey personality, for the most part, when it comes to other Luperci. However, he is a sweetheart with other livestock animals. Horses are his favorite, but he enjoys the company of pretty much any kind of animal.

  • He is capable of herding and guarding sheep.
  • Farai is an extremely capable pack animal, possessing hardiness and endurance far surpassing that of a horse.
  • He is not strong enough to hold a fully-grown Luperci on his back, though he might be able to carry a small child. Farai is not saddle-broken, nor is he accustomed to riders -- riding him could be dangerous.

History

  • The burro was born feral in southwestern Texas and taken in very young. He worked for many years carrying the burdens of Thamur.
  • Thamur died and the donkey was taken in by Myrika.
  • When Inferni captured sheep, Farai basically began living with them full-time, acting as herder and guard.
