Altuan the Bear

There comes a great rumbling from the hillside – it would appear that a black bear has awoken from his slumber. Evidence of his exploration can be found all through out the River Valley and the shadows of The Teeth. Few have been able to spot him, for despite his great size it’s as if he’s a ghost.

The Realm has bestowed a name upon the mysterious giant, Altuan. He is a striking example of his species, a burly, mean looking bear who has lived many seasons. He has a set of scars that lace his tan muzzle and ears that are notched and marked from defending his territory. He has a thick pitch-black pelt that has turned blonde about his shoulders and is missing two of his claws on his left paw from escaping a trap in his youth.

Black bears are normally shy, but can prove to be unpredictable and dangerous. There are signs about New Caledonia’s territory that Altuan has been active. How The Realm reacts is up to you!

Some ideas include but are not limited to:

• Have you discovered a set of tracks Altuan left behind?
• Perhaps your character has managed an infamous glimpse of the black bear?
• Will our traders/The New Caledonian Trading Company take notice of his pelt?
• Will our Wraiths Teeth aim to defend the realm from this potential threat?
• Escape an attack? Perhaps Altuan has wandered too close to The City Square for comfort…
