2.  About

2.1  Beliefs

The Wolfe-Denahlii family comes from the north up in the arctic. They are not pure arctic wolves, containing strains of huskies and other pets that had been brought north with the humans. They believe in an All Mother, the source of all life, and Artoi, the mother of all arctic wolves. Dalgina is their name for the goddess of winter and the moon, ruling through the winter when there is no sun, and revered for her beauty. Honrin is their name for the god of summer and the sun, ruling when there is no moon, and known for his intense heat. There are customs that the family follows, though it varies how closely each member follows it.

2.2  Appearance

The Wolfe-Denahlii family are all wolfdog hybrids, predominantly doggish in appearance. Males and females are both small in stature, rarely surpassing 6' in their Optime form. The markings on their coat tend to show their German Shepherd/Husky ancestry, as well as the flopped ears that are occasionally seen in the family (Jace, Pandora, Keldava, Starr, Kjintora).

The fur colors of the family tend to be mainly black, white, and grey, with occasional brown accents. While some do tend to look more wolf like in appearance with a solid-colored coat (Dalgina, Honrin, Ky'Ry', Qyska, Azazel), their build does lean towards more of that of a dog than a wolf.

The most common eye colors are brown, amber, and blue. Heterochromia of the eyes is attributed to the husky hybridization, and is seen in several family members (Jace, Pandora, Starr, Kjintora).

2.3  History

Jace Denahlii came from the Denahlii wolfdog pack in the north that was destroyed in a territory dispute. Mourning the death of her sister Elsie, Jace sought the company of others and found it in Temo Wolfe, a male that had left his northern pack, unable to deal with the disconnection that he felt there. They traveled together and lived for a time in Phoenix Valley, falling in love and becoming mates. Tragedy met them there, including Jace being raped by Lucifer Sawtooth, enduring the miscarriage of her first litter, and having her children's graves defiled by Argul Rakezael whom she murdered in retribution.

When Phoenix Valley merged with Dahlia de Mai they followed and lived for some time in Ichika no Ho-en. The couple's first healthy litter was born there in November 2011: Honrin Wolfe-Denahlii, Pandora Wolfe-Denahlii, Dalgina Wolfe-Denahlii, Keldava Wolfe-Denahlii. A dispute within the pack lead Jace to believe her family was no longer safe there, guiding them to Cercatori d'Arte where they have lived since.

In August of 2012 Jace gave birth to a litter of five small, unhealthy pups, that were gradually nursed to health and miraculously survived: Drahnor Wolfe VI, Adam Wolfe II, Lorenna Makenzi Denahlii, Starr Talc Denahlii, Ky'Ry' Wolfe-Denahlii. Jace had attacked her family in her distress over her litter's condition and left both Honrin and Keldava scarred, crippled Keldava's hand, and leaving the previously tight knit family shattered. Jace was demoted and dishonored, and worked to repair her relationship with her children and the pack over time. Keldava became mates with Leviothan Moonbreaker while estranged with her mother, but the relationship brought them back together as a family.

Jace became pregnant again next spring, but was gravely wounded by an assailant named Shurui. She slowly recovered and had a very difficult childbirth in May 2013, resulting in three stillborn and two healthy pups: Samson Denahlii?, Qyska Denahlii. Dalgina and Adam choose to leave Cercatori d'Arte around this time, journeying to the arctic. Keldava and Leviothan also embark on a honeymoon, with the intention of returning to their pack eventually.

The second generation of the family began with an accident; Honrin Wolfe-Denahlii and Cercatori d'Arte leader Skye Collins became intoxicated at a party and ended up spending the night together. They agreed it was a mistake, but Skye did not realize she was pregnant until the birth of Azazel Collins. Honrin was deeply moved to become a father, even if it was not by the woman he was secretly in love with, Kenna Foxleigh. He relieves some of his stress over the situation with a physical commitment-free relationship with Myrddin dir Rhiannon (unaware that his male packmate harbored feelings for him and felt led on). Honrin and Jace both devote a lot of time to Azazel when he is not with his mother, hoping to impart their Svinka beliefs.

Honrin's inappropriate love for Kenna is brought to light months later when she appears on his doorstep late one night, and they conceive a child together: Kjintora Wolfe-Denahleigh. Ultimately Kenna is loyal to her mate, Adrian Kido, but Adrian's untimely disappearance gave Honrin an opportunity to live out his fantasies and be with his dream girl and their daughter. Jace disapproved of her first two grandchildren being born out of wedlock, but she was not truly scandalized until the third was on the way.

Pandora's pregnancy came as a shock, since the naive girl did not have any suitors and mainly spent her days around her family. It was revealed that she and her brother Honrin had been hiding an incestuous relationship for a long time, before any of Honrin's other romantic entanglements began. However, the ill-fated child conceived of such a union never drew its first breath; Pandora's pregnancy ran too long, and her only pup was stillborn. The siblings fell into deep mourning, and Jace set aside her anger in order to comfort her offspring over their loss.

2.4  Other Facts

Most members of the family speak at least some words of Svinka. They are a tightly knit clan who believes in family above all else, and draw together. They are very much matriarchal in how things are done, with the females leading. They tend to be deeply spiritual, and are sometimes visited by the ghosts of ancestors.
