MATURE CHARACTER:

It is advised not to read further if of a nervous disposition. This is a highly 'mature' rated character.

The Bone Collector is an albino wolf-dog hybrid of unknown origin, at least in play; mainly because he is no longer aware of where he came from. A nomadic Luperci since the death of his pack somewhere south of Nova Scotia, what started out as a hybrid Luperci wandering, lost and broken, became a prophesier of death, a harbinger of hatred and decay. Not wishing to be affiliated with any pack, as he doubts any will understand his need to travel and bring the word of the Dark Ones to the masses, and to also feed their desire to follow him. And of course, one must not forget his sometimes insatiable need to feed on the flesh of his kin.

PLOT OPPORTUNITY!

OOC ASSUMPTIONS!

  • Feel free to PM me requests. The Bone Collector is a pretty open character.
  • Eventually, way in the future, perhaps a pack of his own?
  • As not in a pack, or currently involved in any pack areas, OOC assumptions about this character don't really exist.
  • Some IC power-play of him are permitted; for example, if you are having an interaction with him, he may be power-played in minute details without getting permission, but I am also happy, with OOC discussion with myself either through Facebook chat or PM, for a bigger power-play to be made.

1.  Appearance

1.1  Basics

Essentials

  • Species: Hybrid
  • Fur: A snowy white coat belays his Arctic Wolf heritage.
    • Optime Hair: 'Natural' dreadlocks; that is to say, the Bone Collector does not actively see to his deadlocks, but allows them to form naturally, and simply adorns them with a thick, claggy red dye made from his own, and sometimes others, blood, ochre, insect entrails and general muck. He collects bones from his prey, and will attach these in some way to his mane.
  • Facial Features: Three parallel scars run across his face, perhaps from a claw wound. He also slicks the same muddy red dye used on his dreadlocks over his face and ears. His eyes are squinted most of the time, due to his constantly furrowed brow as he is somewhat photosensitive due to his albinism. Any skin seen on his face is a pale pinkish-grey.
  • Build and Size: A mire of domestic dog genes from his father, namely King Shepherd, increased his size, and made his general appearance more sharp and lengthened. He has a narrow chest, and slender limbs and hands when in his Optime form, which is his primary form. That is to say, it is VERY rare to see the Bone Collector in any other form; Secui may be seen if he has lost his mind and gone on a rampage; Lupus is a form he never sinks to.
    • Lupus: Never seen, but would be a dyed white wolf looking form, with longer limbs and muzzle, and medium length plush coat.
    • Optime: Stands around 6'8, but doesn't necessarily feel this height, as he is not a thickly muscled beast. He is wiry, with a strength not necessarily belied by his size. He is covered in scars, mostly caused by his own hand. His eyes are never still in this form; an issue derived from his faulty albino genetics. His deadlocks from just between his long, thin ears, and fall around his neck and down to a point in the middle of his shoulder blades.
  • Humanization: The Bone Collector has a number of items that may humanize him to some degree; the primary one is that he is rarely ever seen out of Optime form. He weaves his mane into dreadlocks, and accessories them with bone beads, skulls, and other odd pieces of bone. His skull mask has been modified and carved into, as well as decorated with dyes. He also has a cape he fashioned himself attached by hooks into the flesh of his own shoulders. His wrists and neck are often decorated with whatever trinket he has found that he likes at that time, and just as his trinkets may alter with his moods, so will his decorative paint patterns.

Coloration

  • Fur:
    • Primary coat color is Pampas (#f6f4f0) or a similarly pale shade of white.
  • Markings:
    • No natural markings mire his appearance. However, self-made markings of the same Deep Red as his dyed dreadlocks can be seen across his body. These include simple "tipping" to his cheek fur, ears, hands and tail tip. "Hand prints" also litter his shoulders, ribs and as far around on his back and buttocks as he can reach. Ritualistic scarring can also be found across his body, primarily situated on his forearms, face and chest.
  • Eyes: Deep Red
  • Optime Hair: As above, his hair is dreadlocked, with beads of bone, and skulls and other bone fragments weaved into it, all dyed Deep Red.
    • Nose and Paw Pads: Manhattan

Palette

Pampas (#f6f4f0)
Deep Red (#800000)
Manhattan (#f5bf8c)

1.2  Miscellaneous

Modifications

  • Scars: Scars are worn as proudly as the bone adornments on The Bone Collector. Across his muzzle, parallel lines of deep scarring mar his features. Across all his limbs, and especially centered around his fore are littered with straight cuts; perhaps belying the truth of where some of the blood for his painting and dyes come from, the deer antler knife, sharp and ready at his belt, another potential indicator.
  • Piercings: The Bone Collector is likely to poke holes into his body at random times, but no official piercings are noted. His ears and nose could at any time hold bone needles, beads or rings, if he so finds something to take his fancy.
  • Tattoos: None.

Adornments

Jewellery and Accessories

  • Skulls, jaw bones, ribs, beads and other bone fragments litter his dreadlocked mane.
  • Bone jewellery, such as his human child ribcage bracelet, can be seen to varying degrees across his body. These can change regularly.
  • Thick, claggy paint-like dye is used across his body in varying degrees, and again, this can change as he so pleases when he reapplies it.

Clothing

  • The only real item of clothing that the Bone Collector wears is his Luperci fur cape. It is raven black in colour, with different designs smeared across it. It is never removed from his form, even if he changes, and this is due to the fact it is fastened into his shoulder flesh with bone hooks, which are spiral shaped with a sharp backward hook on them.

Secui

VERY RARELY USED The Bone Collector only tends to revert to this form when he has lost his mind and is in a broken, ravaging mood. In this form, he is likely to deal more damage, and can be almost unstoppable once he starts going.

6ft 8in (203.2 cm)

Optime

PRIMARY FORM - WILL ALWAYS BE IN THIS FORM UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED In this form, the Bone Collector is as he feels he should be. His is collected, and his mind... somewhat in its correct functionality. He is manipulative and suave. He prefers the ability to manipulate with fingers and the way he can dress himself up on the outside the same twisted and dark feelings he has on the inside.

Interaction

  • Speech: A voice like silk belies the nefarious intentions of this Luperci. A creature that is out for his own gain, he is a loner by heart, but yet, his ability with words, and to paint a picture to those that are lost and alone makes him akin to some spiritual healer, and he gains followers with ease. In a world where there is so much unknowing, a beast such as this perhaps finds it too easy to hide within the shadows, spinning his stories of a god that looks down on those with a penchant for blood a little too kindly, whispering sweet promises of a life eternal.
  • Scent: A scent like the death of many, and of all species, follows this Luperci. Stale blood and decay are accents to his foreboding scent. Many may bypass him, thinking they had stubbled upon some sort of long deceased creature, little realising that it is a dangerous thing to ignore this one.
  • Quirks, Gestures, Etc.: Blood. Bones. They are things that adorn him in both appearance and across his very soul. A pleasure most foul is derived from the feel of both in his grasp, and a stench of death seems to permeate his being. Dank, evil sweetness that has become a drug to this beast. A hell-hound given form, is how some may describe him; the stories a mother may tell her pups to stop them sneaking off where they shouldn't be allowed. A reputation he is more then happy to divulge sometimes, when he finds a nomadic group or small, starting pack. He purposefully sets blade to his own flesh, and that of others, in ritualistic ceremonies only he seems to know the meaning of, but which those that follow him may pretend to understand.
  • General Posture and Body Language: Regarded as a large specimen, thanks to his mixed heritage, The Bone Collector poses an impressive, if narrow and wiry physique in all of his forms, though none more so then his Optime. Choosing a more upright form when Optime, The Bone Collector spends much of his time in this form, thus his adornments rarely disappear from his figure. Broad shoulders are shrouded in a fur cape, though it is so adorned in paints and what one can only assume to be dried blood that it is difficult to decide on the type of creature that the fur once belonged to. The same cannot be said for the clear wolven skull that adorns The Bone Collector's head. Subtle patterns have been both carved and painted into its sun-kissed paleness, runes of protection and healing, as well as those of a more nefarious nature. Vertebrae, jaw bones and other, smaller animal skulls are braided into the mane that is scruffy and unkempt, almost like dreads down his back. The fur here has also been dyed with paints and natural dyes to be a thick, muddy red. These same dyes have been used on his hand-paws, and his tail tip. Hand prints of the same paint are splattered across his upper arms, shoulders and back. Scars are worn as proudly as the bone adornments on The Bone Collector. Something others will also note is that though his claws are retracted, they have been allowed to become so long there are still the very tips present even when relaxed and withdrawn; this is also true of his fangs, which are filed and long enough to push past his lips, and dip into view along his dark smirk. This is a creature built for the fight, but at the same time so ingrained in his own version of worship to a god only he seems to know, that it is difficult for those that witness him to know his intentions, a difficult to read creature that is best approached with wariness, if at all.

2.  Personality

A sooth-sayer, or perhaps just tweaked in mind, The Bone Collector is nothing short of suave and manipulative, but if expressed just right, could be a living god to the lost, and it is that which he preys on. Need he a companion to follow him, his ability to seek the vulnerable is like a twisted skill, but the way he can manipulate them to follow his command and do the hateful things he wishes is nothing short of spectacular. A loner, but one that can draw souls towards his devilish light, he is a demon in disguise, but there is a darkness that even he can not disguise.

Blood.

2.1  Ideals

Traits

  • Outlook: Neither an optimist or a pessimist, the Collector lives solely in the moment, and only for that moment. A survivor, one might say, but one that is unaware that this is all that he lives for; to survive.
  • Sociability: An extremely domineering character, the Collector takes control quickly in situations, though this may not always be through brute strength. He is able to manipulate any situation to fall into his own court, and thus he be allowed to make the stipulations in any excursion with the outside world.
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil

Motivations

  • The Bone Collector is only motivated by one thing; death and destruction.
  • He believes himself blessed by something he calls 'The Dark One'. He worships it like a god, and it is possible that he believes himself to be some sort of sooth-sayer or prophet for this anthropomorphic version of Death; a Luperci Grim Reaper, perhaps?
  • The Collector is also drawn to those he considers weak, or easy to manipulate. Weakness, to the Collector, is not gauged on physical strength, and is instead a strength of mind and character, and how easily he could twist them around to follow him, and become a part of his unworldly rituals.

Fears

  • There is little this beast fears. How can one whom believes he is touched by Death Itself be able to fear it? Ultimately fear is only derived from that which is unknown, and what greater unknown force is there than Death?

Biases

  • Packs: Packs are only useful if the creatures within have lost their way, and need to be disposed of... Or if they are able to point me in the direction of that which can be used as Prey.
  • Species: There is no prejudice here. All species, all races, all creatures are equal when the Dark One comes for them, and I am but his messenger...
  • Non-Luperci: As above, no prejudice. Death will come for all, and some taste very delicious.
  • Gender: Male, or female, you are but a body that can be used, tasted, assaulted. The Dark One has one paw on your shoulder from the moment you are born.
  • Color: Every creature is beautiful, whether alive or dead. The only true colour is that of blood. And inside, that is the same in everyone.
  • Sexuality: Male or female, you are but meat, but there are some that are more delicious then others, and need to be sampled over time, played with. Your innards are also delicious regardless of gender, and there is nothing so sweet as something that is hurting, or that is deceased.
  • Age: The young are corruptible, the grown can be delectable, and the elderly have reached the pinnacle, and have little time remaining. All are equal when Death touches their face.

Sexuality

The Collector's tastes are more then many may be able to handle. Male or female, he is not phased, essentially any that come to him seeking a sexual release could pay the ultimate price, as his games can be very dangerous. His blade is as fickle as his touch, and he feels no love for the soul residing within, only the pleasure of a release, and the potential for a little blood... Or a lot, depending on the victim. He could be devoted to one individual, or more partners, for a long time, he might take a one-night stand and have his fun whilst in the midst of a ritualistic ceremony. It is difficult to say what he may make of someone that comes to him, seeking any sort of sexual or emotional contact.

Substances

There is nothing more exhilarating then some illicit action, but the Collector often only needs the scent of fresh blood to send him into a frenzy. If it is offered, he may take it, though prepare for danger depending on the reaction it has within his body; he is prone to a more violent or twisted reaction to substances given, and the Gods forbid that you be in his way when he goes feral.

Spirituality

As mentioned, the Bone Collector has a twisted and sick fascination with death, pain, injury, and the effects of these things on a body, whether that be his own or someone else's. He believes himself to be a messenger for the Dark One, a delusion of grandeur, no doubt, but it is his belief, and it has consumed his very being. Everything about the Collector is devoted to his Grim Reaper god, and he will do anything to appease this deity. He travels the realm, looking for places that are consumed by Death itself, and will perform his own rituals there, often involving blood and sacrifice. He has an almost necrophilic tendency towards these rituals, and often finds himself lost to his desires. If he has been lucky enough to procure followers, perhaps his amorous intentions can be directed towards a living soul, though it is not unlikely that he will have found himself cozied up to a corpse when he has come down from his euphoric highs.

3.  Relationships

It is likely that the Bone Collector will have many acquaintances, but few friends, allies and followers. He may well have more enemies and those that abhor the very thought of him more than anything.

3.1  Family

The Bone Collectors family was murdered when he was still sane, whilst he had been away on a hunt and forage trip. He had returned to their mangled and twisted bodies, and it was this that set him on a very strange and derelict path into darkness. The only remnant to his previous family is the cloak that he bears; the shoulder and back fur and mane of his then-mate, whom is skinned the hide off, took her head from her shoulders, to make the skull he wears across his face, and the cloak stitched into his very flesh. Perhaps the only 'family' that is still considered to be alive is the Black Vulture he has nurtured. She follows him everywhere, though he has not bothered particularly to train her, or teach her speech as others have their companions. She is something he kept, as a trinket perhaps? A living symbol of death and destruction.

3.2  Relations

Key Relations

  • Torn Bane Another with a distinctly broken past, the Bone Collector has chosen to keep this female by his side. Perhaps she is something of interest to him, perhaps she will turn out to be nothing by a play thing for him, but whatever his intention, right now, he likes her, and is choosing to keep her close. Perhaps it has something to do with the way she speaks with the stones, to the very earth around her; this is something of great interest to him.
  • Ly'Wamina A lost little lamb, and a fine looking female. She is most definitely a play thing, something that has whet his appetites and reminded him of pleasures he'd forgotten so long walking by himself.

4.  Skills and Inventory

4.1  Abilities

Ritualistic Worship

  • Manipulation: A skill that seems to develop over his years of wandering lost, the Collector has a particular skill in manipulating others into his biding, and making them do things that that wouldn't do if not directed by the insanity of this beast. By twisting words, seduction and generally appealing to the desires of the other, he is able to wangle his way into their very soul, and plant a dark seed that has them trailing him, like he is their salvation. The truth is, he is most likely to be their end.

5.  History

It is difficult to discern when this demon first arose to walk the lands of the North. It is believed he came from the South, a nomad, but other stories speak of him appearing where the Northern Lights touch the earth, and a union between light and darkness occurred. Whatever the story that is spoken of him, all that is known for sure is that trouble always surely followed the one that smelt of death.

In reality, The Bone Collector was once a sweet, loving creature, with a pack, and a family. A neighbouring pack, out new lands, had attacked, and left the small, tight-knit group in shreds, and when the pale ghost had returned from his hunt, it was to find his family slain. They had been a peace-loving tribe, and it had been easy for the foreign creatures to infiltrate and massacre them. The Bone Collector had been gathering herbs and other useful items for his role as the tribe shaman, but upon his return, found nothing but blood and mud. His mate, a raven beauty, was no longer recognisable, and it was from her hide and form that his cloak and skull was derived. The bloodied earth that pooled about him was smeared across his body that day, as a constant reminder of what he had lost, and so he had turned from the carcass of his former life, and gone in search of answers.

Moons had passed, and the nomad became enraptured by the decay of the face of his loved one, the stench of her hide about his shoulders. Weeks turned into months, into years, and he forgot himself within the stench of blood and death. As he wondered the fields and forests, searching for something he could no longer remember fully, he adorned himself in what he could remember; death. He made his way slowly northward, and could smell, as he crossed the borders, the heavy scent of canid on the winds. Untrusting, he entered the realm of the Northern Wolves, and made his way deeper into the packlands, meandering like a river, picking up strays as he went, and disposing of them when he saw fit. Never stayed too long in one place, memories, half formed, pushing him on in a quest that was now forgotten.
