Overview
Tercero Robles was born and raised in Onuba with his brothers Dimas, Valero, and Baudelio. He belongs to one of the Inner Court Families through his mother Jesenia Robles. Tercero came to 'Souls territory around the winter of 2020-21, arriving with Serafina Amaranthe after escaping Onuban authorities. He and Serafina have made a home of New Caledonia, joining in August of 2021.
Personality
Taciturn • Judicious • Reliable • Loyal
‣ General
- Tercero is rule-abiding and believes in structures of power. The events of his life have challenged this core part of his personality, and it is a central source of tension in him.
- He is made nervous by chaotic situations and will try to get out of them as quickly as possible.
- While Tercero is highly intelligent and trained to think tactically, he is not a good improvisor. Given enough time to strategize, he can come up incredible plans, but on the spot he freezes up and is horribly useless.
- He is private and professional, and knows how to keep a secret.
- Ultimately, Tercero wants to be part of a place with familiar structures to him (laws, hierarchy, similar value system, etc).
‣ Expression
- Speech: He has a moderate Spanish accent, and is fluent in Common (English), Spanish, and Portuguese.
- Scent: Varied due to his nomadic status, but underlying hints of oak and charcoal.
‣ Opinions
- Likes: schedules, consistency, scholarship, reading, writing, prose, puzzles
- Dislikes: chaos, unpredictability, violence, wandering, thoughtless or inconsiderate people
- Biases: Tercero does not think well of religion, cults, or places/groups that take advantage of people (e.g. gambling places). Although raised to look down on feral lifestyles and people, his travels have helped open his eyes to the practicalities of these forms. Nevertheless, he is most comfortable with "civilized" behavior and cultures.
- Spirituality: Tercero was raised, like most Onubans, to adhere to the teachings of The Lantern. He attended all spiritual services like a good boy (mostly because his father would've boxed his ears if he skipped them). Tercero doesn't put much stock into the faith, or any faith, and his experiences have reinforced this view.

Relationships
‣ Familial
- Tercero looked up to his mother and sought to emulate her by following her professional path. He does have some issues with her being largely absent from his childhood and leaving most of the rearing to his father.
- Tercero accepted his father as the figure of authority in his life, but never felt close to him emotionally. He regards his father like a colleague rather than a family member.
- Tercero was closest to Valero growing up, and the two of them remained good friends in adulthood despite going down very different paths (Tercero chose to pursue a political position and Valero chose a path of labor). Second to Valero was Baudelio, who was the most emotionally immature of the sons but pure-hearted and kind. Baudelio sought to integrate into Court society and find himself a mate, which the brothers all supported since they were mostly concerned with their pursuits.
- Dimas distanced himself from the rest of them early on, standing out as the golden child with the most promise. This facade was shattered when Tercero discovered his secret, and his life was irreversibly changed.
‣ Key
- Serafina Amaranthe: Accidental partners in crime. Tercero and Serafina became close out of circumstance. Their relationship remains ambiguous, although that hard line has softened more or less since their arrival to New Caledonia.
‣ Minor
- Positive Acquaintances: Lotan Amaranthe, Pazuzu Lykoi, Rahab de le Poer, Tiamat Amaranthe, The Troupe
- Negative Acquaintances: Isabel Moreno
History
Tercero Robles was born and raised in Onuba with his brothers Dimas, Valero, and Baudelio. He belongs to one of the Inner Court Families through his mother Jesenia Robles. He and his brothers were raised primarily by their father Lalo Durán, who kept a strict household which allowed for little transgression. For the most part his childhood was uneventful—Tercero decided to pursue an advocacy position after his mother and soon began his study.
At the end of his second year of life, it came to light that Dimas was addicted to gambling and in severe debt to the Moreno and Arena families. Dimas used his unwitting and law-abiding brother as a guarantor of his loans, and when Dimas fled Onuba, the repayment fell to Tercero. Tercero hid what his brother did from their family and made the payments at first, but he was eventually overwhelmed by them. Tercero was injured in the process of escaping arrest from the Guards. He was soon found by Serafina, who in her naivete appealed to her girlfriend Isabel Moreno for help. Isabel returned with guards, forcing Serafina and Tercero to flee.
