1.  Appearance

Sylvia is a coyote-dog-wolf hybrid, but her coyote characteristics are the most dominant and prominent in her features. Her face is v-shaped and pointed like most coyotes with a slender muzzle coming to a fox-like point. Her ears are large, standing tall on top of her head and triangular in shape. The dove's subtle dog and wolf heritage is visible in her size - carrying the petiteness of a coyote, yet the taller stature and long legs of a wolf in all her forms. She is tall and willowy when in her optime form, with a slender build, yet slightly curvy hips.

Sylvia has an assortment of piercings in her ears mostly studs or clasps. Her hair is a very light blonde, almost white in colour that is tousled and naturally curled. The white-blonde girl has an assortment of small braids in her hair which are ended with beads/shells/bands/feathers, and she on occassion will wear her hair up, but it mostly remains down. She has two feathers in behind her left ear that are buried and pinned into her hair. She wears an assortment of jewelery, mostly things she has made herself that have shells, beach glass, etc. These change quite often, but the one thing she wears all the time is her shell anklet that has pearls on it too.

The young nymph wears a leather strap around her leg which holds a hunting knife which is an incredibly sharp blade that she uses for hunting or for her own defense. The sheath is decorated as well as the handle with leather to grip it easier as well as a blue strip around it. Around her waist is a belt that has small bags attached to it for carrying things around in.

Over her back she carries a bow which she made herself with the help of another it is shaped into a horses head at the top. It is also decorated with feathers, a bird skull, and beads. Her spear was also made with the help of the same trader that had taken her in for a while when she was young. She has a wintery blue and white quiver in which she stores her arrows.

She very rarely wears any clothing except in the winter time she wears a poncho which matches the quiver. It is lined with fur around the hood and along the bottom of it which goes down to her waist. It sports the same feathers and shell decorations on the bottom front. There is a small pocket in the front which is also lined with fur. The whole inside is lined with animal fur, the outside being made of a heavy cotton material.

Overall Sylvia is mostly blonde, with a golden tinge to her fur. She has a darker patch along her shoulders and on her muzzle. Her underside is mostly a creamy white as well as the inside of her ears and her eye brows. Her eyes are a deep crimson red very evident of her mother's blood line.

1.1  Build and Species

Sylvia is a hybrid which is evident in her appearance. The way her snout is pointed, facial structure and over-sized ears is evident of her coyote heritage. As well her thinner, leaner frame is acquired from the same species. From her touch of wolf heritage she gains her height, and larger paws used for traveling across snow and allowing her to be a stronger swimmer than most coyotes. The German Shepherd in her is seen in the thickness of her coat which is also attributed to the wolf which grows in thick for winter and sheds to a much lighter coat in the summer. She generally does not need any protection from the cold when it comes to this, but the poncho she wears helps with any wind that manages to penetrate her thick fur.

Due to her mottled genes, Sylvia's heritage is not quite certain. She has the facial features of a coyote as well as the willowy stature, but with the height of a wolf. She is very thin and willowy and she hardly weighs anything, but her height makes her appear larger than she actually is. She looks almost underfed in the summer, but the length of her fur in the winter helps fill out her petite shape. Primarily used when hunting, traveling on her own great distances and when spying.

When in her secui form Sylvia puts on a couple extra inches and a lot of bulk. Her chest and shoulders broaden, but her hips remain narrower in comparison to the rest of her body. Her neck thickens out, and the fur grows incredibly thick in the area over her throat and chest and she appears almost to have a mane. Her paws triple in size with claws protruding greatly from the ends. This is her favoured form for close combat fighting.

Again, in this form Sylvia is tall and willowy in stature. She looks a little too skinny, with slightly above average breasts, a tight and strengthed core with wider hips and thin, yet very long legs. Her middle looks slightl shortened due to the length of her legs. Her hair is generally left loose, with few braids scattered throughout it, soft falling curls go slightly past her shoulders. She hardly wears clothing except a poncho in the winter. This form is her favoured form above all others for interactions, hunting from a distance, and long-range combat.

1.4  Other

Modifications

  • Piercings: Sylvia always has a couple piercings in her ears of either studs or hoops and she changes them often. Holes grow over and she gets more piercings sometimes. She prefers silver.
  • Tattoos: None yet.
  • Scars:
    • Throat, thin slice not visible unless fur is parted, someone tried to rob her in her sleep, but she killed them before the blade could dig in very deep.
    • Underbelly, round scar looks as if something pierced her, hunting and got caught in a buck's antlers.

Accessories

Sylvia wears an assortment of bracelets, ankle bracelets and sometimes necklaces. They are usually made from pearls, bones, small animal skulls, teeth, seashells, and leather. She makes most of them herself and changes them daily.

  • Dagger, attached to her left thigh
  • Belt, with small pockets and such for carrying assortments of things
  • Spear, crafted herself, with a very sharp point, a blue leather grip, and beads, feathers and seashells adorning it.
  • Bow, crafted herself (with help), has the head of a horse at the top, curved at the bottom, at the top there is a feather and seashell hanging from it, and at the bottom another seashell hangs from it and a bird skull with feathers sticking out of it. These are her goodluck charms, and they were found at different yet significant points in her life. She likes to personalize everything of her own.
  • Two feathers, always stuck behind her ear embedded into the fur and hair, kept in all forms.
  • Quiver, a long quiver that holds all her arrows, has small pockets for arrow heads that she finds. Decorated with feathers, seashells, beads and skulls as well. Blue in colour, matches her poncho.

Clothes

  • Sylvia hardly ever wears clothes, except in the winter she will wear a thick, heavy poncho that has an assortment of blue hues. Fur lines the hood as well as along the bottom. Most of the poncho is line with arctic hare fur and is strictly white. Where it comes to a point in the front there is feathers with a skull and some seashells hanging from it. The hood can be tightened with drawstrings which are just braided pieces of white rope.

2.  Personality

Having grown up in a very close-knit and small family group Sylvia has yet to interact with any puppies her own age other then her brother. She is a shy creature by nature always having been one to sit back and watch everything go on around her. Syl does not feel like she has to participate in social interactions or meetings being just as happy to sit on the side lines and listen to everyone around her. With people she is close to though she does not act this way. In fact, she is quite the curious sort and is always asking questions wanting to know everything she can about the world and never giving up an opportunity to learn something know. Her curiosity will eventually just shift into a general thirst for more knowledge.

As quiet as this girl is she has a bit of a mischievous streak to her, always enjoying playing jokes and tricks on her parents or her brother. Her latest one being her disappearing act which is why she is out alone by herself with no guardian. This could eventually settle and eventually she may get out of being a trickster. Due to her parents good nature she could never get a rise out of them so this trait is slowly dissipating.

When in the company of strangers or others she does not really know this young sylph can be very timid. Flinching at the slightest movement or just generally averting her eyes and attempting to keep the attention off herself in order to maintain her invisibility. When this does not work and someone insists on talking to her - depending on the person and their nature - the girl can come out of her shell and be quite friendly although still not very talkitive. She will answer questions asked of her and so on, but remains quiet. The girl is always on alert trying to make sure to stay out of everyone's way. She does not like getting into trouble too much by others, only by her parents. If someone sneaks up on her she becomes very easily alarmed, and any sounds can set her off. When she is by herself even the slightest shift of grass can send her heart racing. Having spent over a week on her own now she is trying to become less scared. There is no reasonable explanation for this behaviour having grown up in a safe and quiet environment. Maybe for that reason she is not used to loud noises.

Once you coax this youth out of her shell she can be quite friendly. Always happy to cheer anyone up or just amuse someone when bored. This more or less applies to her brother. She enjoys his company and is always trying to draw the boy out. He does not have fun, he is the strong silent type, choosing to be quiet and watch everyone. His quietness isn't due to timidness, just unwilling to participate in conversation. Sylvia is a good friend to have and is always happy to just follow along and play whatever game her current companion wishes to play.

Again, when coaxed out of her hard shell, Sylvia is a very curious sort. She enjoys learning thoroughly, never missing a chance to learn more and more. Her speech has developed faster then most puppies her age, having correct grammar and pronounciate was always important to her. She is forever asking questions and wondering about every little piece of the world such as why is the sky blue and where do babies come from. Her mind is always racing with new ideas, questions and possibilities.

Generally, Sylvia is a very outgoing coyote and is always up for some sort of conversation although her nose is normally found buried in a book. As long as you can pry her from her books she can be very friendly and enjoys company. She is a little too trustworthy, but knows to keep her guard. Very good at reading body language from any others including animals.

Sylvia has tried marijuana and will occasionally participate if others are doing it but will not go out of her way to acquire it.

Sylvia has not come into contact with any religions. She would most likely be open to learning about them, but it would be hard to say whether she would believe in them without heavy study on the subject.

  • Speech: Sylvia's voice is but a soft trill when she speaks. It is silvery and sounds as if she has a melody to the rhythm of her speech. It is very singsong and only when stressed does it become slightly shrill. When tired or out of breath her voice becomes smoky, and has a sexy appeal to it for most.
  • Scent: The golden dove has always held the smell of the ocean having grown up around it most of her life. It smells rich and full of sealife even though the sharp smell can sting. She enjoys it because it reminds her of home.

Adonis

  • Species: Horse
  • Age and DOB: January 12th, 2011
  • Description: Adonis has grown into a beast of a horse. He is large, lean and well muscled. He has the perfect build for running great distances as well as jumping. He is mostly white with black coating most of his body in large splashes and spots. His eyes are a deep chestnut color.
  • Personality: A spit fire of a horse. He enjoys teasing Sylvia, but it is evident he cares deeply about her. He never strays far from her side. When in the presence of other horses, he does not really care for males, but he loves to flirt with the ladies. He is a bit of a tease and likes to play practical jokes.

4.2  Abilities

Strengths

  • Archery (Master): From a young age Sylvia took an interest in archery, and as soon as she could shift she had her hands on a bow almost instantly. She spent a long time honing her skill, and then he adoptive father taught her how to make her own bow when he felt she was ready. She can use an assortment of long, composite, reflex, recurve, self and compound bows. She has tried all, but prefers the one she owns which is a cross between a long and a recurve bow. She has incredible marksmanship and incredible skill.
  • Horseback Riding (Master): As soon as Sylvia could shift she was on the back of a horse. She grew deeply attached to Adonis from a very young age, as soon as she could ride him she did. Her experience stems from her long travels and learning through books the best way to tack and ride a horse.
  • Reading (Master): Her adoptive father taught her to read, she has a wide vocabulary, although she tries not to sound smart when talking for fear of being rejected in some way.
  • Hunting (Journeyman): She is a fairly adept hunter in any of her forms and can catch a variety of different things such as fish, birds, and any type of prey on the ground. She could hone her skills a little more, but for the most part she has it down pat from experience of being forced to hunt or face starvation on her own.
  • Crafting (Journeyman): She was taught by her adoptive parents from a young age to craft weapons, jewelery, etc. Her skills are limited, but very strong in what she can do.
  • Spears (Apprentice): She is not very skilled with a spear unless you count fishing. She knows enough to 'stick them with a pointy end' and definitely could use some proper teaching.

Weaknesses

  • Anxiety: Sylvia has random bouts of anxiety that affect her day-to-day life. Although nothing in particular bothers her she just feels terrible thinking about the future and other things such as failure. It does not stop her from doing what she wants to do, but it can make her feel sick to her stomach.
  • Loneliness: Sylvia gets really lonely a lot. Being on her own feels unnatural, but her inability to stay in one place very long drives her stay on her own. She hates becoming attached to something only to leave it just as quickly. As much as she wants to be part of a pack she feels like she can not guarantee she will remain and thus does not want to force that upon a pack that is looking for a more steady character.
  • Wanderlust: Although she loves that she can leave anywhere on a drop of a dime she does not like to make any sorts of attachments to others. When she does grow attached she quickly cuts it off and leaves because inevitably she feels she will leave them and let them down and all she wants to do is please everyone. Even if it means sacrificing her own wants and needs.

5.  History

Sylvia was born upon her mother's seventh birthday alongside her brother Niklaus Gabriel Mogotsi. Faolin gave her son the middle name of her ex-mate for unknown reasons to everyone else. Sylvia had always been a wanderer and had often times got lost. Her mother would scold her because of her disappearance, but time and time again she disappeared. Finally, one day she feels a slight bit more rebellious and runs off with a colt from her parent's stable and wandered further than she ever had the colt followed her unquestioningly by a lead. Sylvia did not make it too far before she was swept up by who she did not quite know was her half-brother, Ezekiel. She was taken into his care for a very short time before she got scared, lost, then wandered off in the completely wrong direction once again.

She was found by a small family unit that made things to trade and they traveled. They took her and the colt in and treated Sylvia like one of their own. She stayed with the family for quite a while. They taught her to hunt, to shift, to defend herself anything she would need for survival. She learned many things such as crafting weapons, making clothes, jewelery, anything she could do with her hands. She absorbed it all, and helped where she could as she got older.

They traveled and stuck to the coastal regions. Sylvia had an affinity to the ocean. She loved it, everything in it, the beaches, they all amazed her. Eventually she grew bored, and her listless spirit took hold and she wanderlust took over again. Saying her good-byes to the ones she called family she set out with Adonis who had also grown quite a bit and was big enough to start carrying her around.
